  • Free preventive care can still cost

Just got a $600 bill for my once-a-year supposed ‘free’ health check. The only thing ‘covered’ was $300 for the doctor to walk in the room and spen 10 minutes looking in my ears and nose and typing on her laptop to order the lab work. I actually called the insurance co to ask about the bill and they proceeded to run down the list of lab work and say that this and that part of the ‘health check’ blood panel was not recommended by they US Dept of Health. I said all I did was go in for a yearly checkup and the doctor ordered blood work. Was I supposed to know exactly which tests we’re and were not covered and tell her to omit them? What can the doctor know without blood tests? SOOOOO stupid I just wanted to scream.

Exactly- and don’t forget pharmacists. Anyone and everyone that can be roped into doing things that used to be done by doctors is/will continue to be. And of course none of these faux md’s is paid any more- they are just told by whomever they work for ‘now you take blood pressures, give vaccines, do BMI’s and health assessments’ along with everything else you do. They even try to say you should be thankful for it because now you get to seem more professional- like a doctor! I really don’t even understand what the ‘real’ doctors will do anymore except oversee legions of the faux-doctors.

I think they have the oldest stewardess working. It was like flying with a bunch of crabby old aunts.

It seems to be that way on every airline. I can’t remember the last time I had a friendly and/or attractive stewardess. I’m a woman, so the attractiveness isn’t that important to me. It’s just that I notice that stereotype of young, pretty stewardesses is long gone. I would be happy with friendly instead of some crabby old hag barking orders for the whole flight. I call them the TSA in the sky!

LOL! How about Liberalis tolerantus- this type mimics a truly tolerant and caring human being, but when confronted with a species or even idea it disagrees with, becomes one of the most most vicious creatures known to man. Extreme caution must be used, as once provoked, no amount of reason will calm it from its violent display! Tranquilizer guns are needed, but don’t let it see said gun, since this will provoke an even more violent outburst.

This brings me to subspecies homo liberals gun-grabberus: identified by its irrational and extreme hatred of guns or the idea that any species should be allowed to defend itself. Identified aby an even stranger belief system in which the guns it fears and hates should only be used by members of ‘authority’ in its own party to exert power and violence over another.

These are rare folks, though. Maybe it’s always been this way

I actually think it has been this way, maybe not to some of the extreme we see today, but it’s always been there. Older generations always think younger ones are slackers, don’t want to pay their dues, etc… and that they had it so much harder than every one else. You know the old’ I had to walk to school barefoot in the snow, uphill 5 miles each way’ thing.

And the point is that society as a whole has changed and you can’t really blame kids raised in this society for what society has become. Isn’t that ultimately on the very adults complaining about it? They are the ones that created the way society is that these kids were raised in.

B) Your doctor is terrible if he calls in antibiotics for cold/flu symptoms without a physical exam. He would have been better off if the MD never called it in and he just sucked it up and (gasp) took care of himself for a few days. It will pass.

I work with a woman who is digging in and defending Obama more with every passing day- refusing to admit anything is wrong or amiss or even that the country is fed up. No, Obamacare just has a few glitches and once the genius fixes them we will all see what a GOD he really is for bestowing free health care upon us all. She is a friend and in the past we have just kind of joked and had lighthearted debates, but it is getting harder and harder to be around her. I am actually getting this uneasy feeling that she really is crazy because of this. The other day I just came out and said that for the sake of our friendship we should stop talking about politics and Obamacare in particular. She keeps bringing it up and I at first gently and lightheartedly remind her, then she keeps at it and I have to say no really, you need to stop.

I would expect more doctors to drop out of taking medicaid as they get overwhelmed and see no financial reward for the increased hours and aggravation they will have to live with.

Medicaid recipients are some of the most voracious and demanding consumers of health care. It is a perfect storm of emboldened entitlement and nothing to do but go to doctors and ER’s searching for drugs from narcotics to something for every sniffle and sneeze. And woe to those who don’t put them at the front of the line and provide them with the BEST with a smile on their face. Trust me, I know.

When these middle class Americans reach their 50’s or 60’s they will lose their jobs to lower paid younger workers or their jobs will be outsourced. Once they deplete their meager savings and cannot find work they will embrace the welfare state for survival. That is the plan.

Unfortunately when they reach their 70’s they will discover the welfare state will not pay for life extending medical treatment. Beyond age 75 the welfare state will be encouraging euthanasia.

Perfect description of what is happening/will happen. My friends and I have all seen it happen to someone we know and to others around us in the work place. It does start between age 50-60 as far as being pushed out. It is happening where my husband and I work now and we are scared for the future. Weknow we are next!

My two teenage daughters love to shop there because it has all the stores they like. there are times they want to go alone (and I can’t or don’t want to accompany them) and they can’t because of it. and yes, they go there to SHOP and spend the money they make at their JOBS- not roam around in packs looking for trouble like the others that caused this curfew! Just wait- they will find a way to blame white conservatives yet. Here is the story:
Yes, these brothers grew up here in the most liberal (and supposedly tolerant) area of the country. They were doing just fine..... until the rise of the Tea Party made them realize the prejudice and hatred they faced in the rest of the country. Knowing this prejudice was out there made them turn inward to rediscover their Muslim and Chechnyen roots. They felt they could not travel anywhere else in the US due to the threat of the evil white Tea Party people, so they began to feel trapped and lashed out like caged animals trying to bring attention to the problem of bigotry and hatred in this country against Muslims. Yes, so as you can see the Tea Party conservatives drove them to it and really are to blame! If everywhere in the country was just as liberal, tolerant and accepting as the Northeast, this never would have happened. So we must now all become more like them to PROVE we are tolerant and accepting.

Parents even justify daycare, saying it will help their children socialize better.

I chose to work very limited hours (only 1 night a week when my husband could be home with the kids) and homeschool when my kids were young. I really had to defend my choice and seek out support with like-minded groups. Many people consider what I did very negatively. If you quit or work part-time you are throwing away your education and not giving your children all you can monetarily. Don’t put them in day-care/school and you are socially depriving them for your own selfish satisfaction of having them at home. Some even suggested that even though I was home I put them in a daycare a few days a week just so they would get used to it and learn to socialize! People were always amazed at how well-behaved and ‘socialized’ they were- how can that be when they don’t spend 10 hours a day with other kids? Sometimes I would get get the comment ‘they are so NORMAL- I’m surprised that you homeschool’!

That’s probably why I don’t like TV or its commercials. I’m not the way they think all women are

Same here. I am actually offended by these cliche, dumb-ass shows and commercials that think I am such an imbecile that I must find it funny. It was old and lame 10 years ago and now is just absurd. When I see stuff like this my reaction is ‘Really? Does anyone think this is funny any more?’ I mean do these writers really sit around trying to come up with a new/hip/funny idea and someone busts out with’ I know, let’s make fun of a white guy and everyone says yeah that’s a great idea no ones’s done that before!
