    Who is Truth?
I got up early this morning to do yard work. The cool fresh air drew me into a quiet time with the Lord. I came away with this thought after 9-11 came to mind. It felt so profound that I wrote it down. Here it is. "America has not yet felt the total impact of the blow we took on 9-11. The reverberation has yet to return. If we do not ready ourselves for the second shock, WE as America WILL FALL."

    The call to action then came to mind in which I paraphrase here;

Speak up, speak out, let it be known your disgust of the LOCATION of the mosque. Get up, Get out, GET INVOLVED !!!!!

With all that said my friends I will close with this, Spend some quiet time with the Lord today. ALL days should have time spent with the Lord but as a minimum, THIS day is another day of the year one should make a special effort to spend time with the Lord. On your knees.

The placement of this mosque at this location is an IN YOUR FACE act of disrespect. The enemy will be emboldened either direction this goes. We will be labeled intolerant if the site is blocked. If this site is allowed weakness will be displayed. Tolerance will be confused for timidity and Americans will show we are asleep again thus giving strength to the radical islamist. (I do not want to capitalize that word).
With regards to the vote, I hope the republican party does see that they erred in catering to too many rhino's when we did have power. They also reached across the isle in good faith and allowed Senator Kennedy to write the education bill. (just one example there). We were told that we would “Rue the day” if our senators went the “nuclear option” and actually called for a cloture vote. What has all that reaching out done for us? As far as I can tell, NOTHING!!!
The “second blow” is much more subtle and prolonged then that the initial blow. Allowing this mosque will represent our unpreparedness to handle what awaits us in the future.

He will not get another vote from me. Not even if it means Hillary or Obama getting elected. The older this guy gets, the more dangerous he gets. He is a perfect example of absolute power corrupting absolutely. He may not have “absolute” power but it seems to me that he has enough power to have been corrupted by it. Call it PRIDE. This will be another example of pride going before the fall.

In regards to the upcoming election - I have difficulties with all three of the main candidates. Romney is the best choice so far but given my theological differences with the guy - I’m not sure if supporting him is another way of supporting his god.

Perhaps I’ll sit this vote out and put ALL my trust back in the Lord.

I was interested in this whole article until I read that he supports John McCain. If elected he will swing as far left as he can go without the party totally abandoning him. Yes he’ll swing even further left than our current President has and that is about as far left as I can handle. How can 1/2 of this nation vote for a party that kills the child and protects the CONVICTED murderer time and time again. That alone is reason enough to run from the left, not to it.

I was almost a “...rather not vote” in the last election. This was due to the republicans inability to stand up and do what is right for the country and their desire to do the Rodney King thing of “why can’t we all just get along”. Single issue voter? Not I, but I will break it down to a few of my top ten issues for you: Judges, Border/illegal immigration, Marriage and Spending. It appears that they still have not learned their lesson though. With the exception of holding the dems back on pulling out of the war altogether, I have been very UN-impressed with their continued trying to get along attitude.

“If the U.S. military can change the reality and spirit of Baghdad, the rest of Iraq will change too”

This sentence is so full of common sense that it should not even have to be expressed. Unfortunately, many people in this country just don’t get it, hence, we have the people in power that we have today. Why can’t they see that it was from our lack of action that has led us to where we are today?

    Thanks for the posting.

Seems to me he is attempting to appeal to the moderate Democrat that knows we are there for the purpose of defending innocents while showing them a better way of life. Problem with moderates leaning towards liberalism is that the truth becomes more obscure. Positive side of moderates leaning towards conservatism is the truth becomes more revealed. 2 + 2 is not what you want it to be, it is what it is. Murder is murder. Killing someone while defending yourself or another is NOT murder. TRUTH IS NOT RELATIVE.

MSM is concerned about Bush's disgustingly foul mouth. Air America says the current uprising is because we have put all our eggs in one basket and ignored Israel over the past 6 years. NPR says we should give more arm to Lebanon so they will considered a state so Israel will not pick on them anymore.

As usual, our representatives (and I'm not feeling very represented lately) make this much more complicated than it really is. CLOSE THE BORDER TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. It does not need to be any more complicated than this at this time. I must emphasize the word "illegal". I am not opposed to immigration. As far as all the other issues that relate to illegal immigration and legal immigration, SORT THAT OUT LATER, BUT RIGHT NOW FIX THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

This is from the NY Times? Makes one wonder why they don't look at numbers like these and think that maybe what we are doing does have a positive effect. They say we can't win the war on terror and I agree. I would also say that we can't win the war on crime either. We should therefore conclude that we should just stop this fighting for our (and our neighbors) pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.

...calendar year 2006 should be a period of significant transition ...

It may seem like a play on words but they do mean something. "Should" implies that it is mandated. If they would have used the word "could", this would imply that it is possible, even probable, but would not imply a mandate.

What we SHOULD do is stay the course and win the war, not give it over to a young unproven army. Remember, Iraq is a sovereign nation which can demand our troops to leave at any time. I believe we would comply.

No, that would be the FREEDOM OF SPEECH should be free. Go tell the pornographic companies that they should let you view all their material for free and see what they give you.

Read our constitution Khpera, it truly is an amazing document that can teach us all about what freedom is.

Can anyone explain to me why " The Bush administration is objecting to the creation of a dot xxx domain,..."

I know the evils, addictions, and just the plain ole degredation of humanity that pornography promotes. I do not understand why isolating pornography into its own domain on the web would be a bad thing. As I understand, it would make it easier for me to block out the use of my computer for my children to accidentally or even purposly visit a pornographic site.

I support Bush, always have supported him and his administration and most likely always will. Any comments on why they would not support domain would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Eventually, engineers will find five separate places where concrete floodwalls gave way. They will still be debating and studying the causes of the failures two weeks after the storm. .....

Just what is a comment like this doing in a "factual" story? Not just the comment but the way it is written using words and phrases such as "eventually" and "still be debating and studying". As the time line goes on we see that a levee breach had been repaired and draining the city begins.

My experience with government buaracracy and engineers is that they are still "debating and studying the causes of the failures " to this day. That did not stop the temporary repair of the levee though as factchecks unbiased comment suggests.

This whole time line is riddled with ridicule for the President who was not saying enough about the storm and not at the scene of the disaster.

So much for being politically unbiased.

So using your logic: If I supported a friend in his effort to ward off his neighbor and defend himself, and later find out my so called friend was using my support to abuse his children, I should just sit back and say, Oops. my bad?

I do think it would be more prudent to not only stop my support of my now ex-friend, but also intervene for the children. But hey, thats just my way of trying to right a wrong, even if it was my own wrong.

My first time at this so here it goes.

I love this passage of scripture. It is the beginning and the end that strike me the most. To "put on the WHOLE armor of God so that you WILL BE ABLE to stand firm... for our battle is not against flesh and blood, but rather the rulers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. And then in the end after purposefully putting on the whole armor of God to PRAY at all times and on every occasion ..... Also a note about our backs not being protected; there is always a need to bring up the rear or protect the back end in battle. In our case, the protection comes from our Lord once again. Two cases come to mind from the old testament: when the Lord led His people out of Egypt and when He led them into the promise land across the Jordan river.
