Council, Governor Commute Sentence CONCORD, N.H. -- A man convicted of criminal threatening after he was accused of waving a gun at a woman on his property was freed from jail Wednesday. Ward Bird grabbed his family in a bear hug Wednesday night following his release from the Carroll County Jail. "I'm humbled, and thank you very much; we will talk more in the future. Right now I want to be with my family," Bird said. The Moultonborough man spent 77 days behind bars on a 2006 felony criminal threatening conviction, which his supporters said was unjust. The Executive Council...

My Message to Geico, and their answer. I learned yesterday afternoon that Geico had succumbed to lefty pressure, and pulled their advertising from Glenn Beck's show. I decided to email them and tell them that I would be pulling my insurance from their show if they did this. My Message to Geico: >General Category: Other > Specific Category: Other > State: NH > > Comments: I read that Geico has pulled their advertising from the Glenn > Beck show due to pressure from a radical leftist group. > > We currently use Geico for all of our car and recreational...

The time for big talk is over. I'll admit that this is a small step, but it is the first step that gets inertia going. I have to believe this may be our chance to start a movement that takes back our country, and I fear that it may be too late to start soon. Bob Basso does Thomas Payne for us again just a few moments into the video:

3/31/2009 With brains like Phil Mendelson on the city council, it's no wonder D.C. acts like a third-world country. His March 22 Washington Post column slams congressmen who want to make D.C. a voting member if it will honor the Second Amendment. Mendelson thinks D.C. residents deserve a vote in Congress, but not a firearm in their homes. Why? You're not going to believe this: because giving citizens the right to protect themselves would "disadvantage the right of individuals to be protected by the police ..." I'll repeat that, so you can fully appreciate the lunacy that passes for policy...

But gun rights activists aren't in that crowd, and so GOA has to inform you of yet ANOTHER threat to your privacy, the Second Amendment, and even your wallet. It is called an...

The law perverted! And the police powers of the state perverted along with it! The law, I say, not only turned from its proper purpose but made to follow an entirely contrary purpose! The law become the weapon of every kind of greed! Instead of checking crime, the law itself guilty of the evils it is supposed to punish! If this is true, it is a serious fact, and moral duty requires me to call the attention of my fellow-citizens to it. Life Is a Gift from God We hold from God the gift which includes all others. This gift...

The U.S. dollar slid against the euro Wednesday after U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner expressed openness to expanded use of an IMF currency basket even as he said the greenback would remain the world's reserve currency for a long time. Investors initially interpreted his remarks as negative for the dollar, sending it to a session low against the euro. China's central bank governor said earlier this month said the world should consider the special drawing right (SDR), a basket of dollars, euros, sterling and yen, as a super-sovereign reserve currency. Geithner, responding to a question at a Council of Foreign...

Mass Junior Conservation Camp Under Attack The Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp (MJCC) that Gun Owners’ Action League runs jointly with the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and the Department of Conservation and Recreation is under attack by the local government in Chesterfield. The MJCC is currently held at the Chesterfield Scout Reservation for two weeks in August. Over the last few years the Scout Reservation has had a neighbor who complained about the shooting taking place during the MJCC program. As a result of this neighbor’s complaints Paul Tacy, the Zoning Enforcement Officer for the Town of Chesterfield, filed a...

I'm compiling as much as I can into a library of sorts, and would like your input as to writings on original intent, liberty, capitalism etc., especially those of our founding fathers and patriots. Writings in the public domain would be fantastic, but links to sites etc. are good too.

Some pundits ask whether America is ready for Obama. The much more important question is whether Obama is ready for America and even more important is whether black people can afford Obama. Let's look at it in the context of a historical tidbit. In 1947, Jackie Robinson, signing a contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers, broke the color barrier in major league baseball. He encountered open racist taunts and slurs from fans, opposing team players and even some players on his own team. Despite that, his first year batting average was .297. He led the National League in stolen bases and...

Since this country seems to have largely abandoned the true use of the constitution and the looters are getting closer by the day, I thought I'd do a where's waldo kind of thing. If you had to start over in a country other than the USA, where would you think that it would be most likely that you could live the kind of life that the original intent of the constitution would have afforded you, and where do you think that John is hiding...? Also, if there does happen to be a crash, how are you preparing?

I received the "Critical Issues survey" from the RNC Victory Caucus in an envelope marked "John McCain" in the return address area. Inside the survey are check boxes near each of the critical issues where the RNC would like to know my stand. The issues range from privatizing Social Security, National Health Care, simplifying the tax code, ehe Economy, and quite a few other subjects. What was noticeably missing from the questions was the request for my view on immigration and amnesty. To be fair, there is a field marked immigration, but it only allows me to choose which party...

I received Lit from Paul Hodes, my congressman today. On the inside bottom right corner, there is a picture partially obscured by "a brilliant quote" from Hodes himself. In the picture I can see the feet of 8-9 people that I assume are actually soldiers. The are holding the Flag... Upside down. This is just disgusting. Does anyone know anything about this picture? Wish I could scan this an post it.

Why terrorists target our soldiers They know that the deaths of American soldiers will be used by the antiwar left increasing the call to pull out, giving the terrorists victory. Our media is a weapon of the enemy as it showers us with this bad news, influencing us as the North Vietnamese did during the end of the Vietnam War. Here are the words of Osama bin Laden: “After leaving Afghanistan, the Muslim fighters headed for Somalia and prepared for a long battle thinking that the Americans were like the Russians. The youth were surprised at the low morale of...

Let it be known, that we the undersigned swear an undying devotion to end the political careers of any public servant holding office who should dare to offer any support to this offense to our birthright to take up arms to defend our lives, our families, our property, our community and our country against enemies both foreign and domestic. We see it as...

I'm posting the list of links that I've accumulated over the past month or so to my homepage on Free Republic, so that they can be used to fight the liberal falsification that there were no WMD's in Iraq. I've provided links here that are particularly related to the 500 munitions found in Iraq since the invasion, and the declassified document that proves that they have been found. I apologize that they are unorganized. Please use the links to fight the lies. Please note that there are links to some speculation, and opinion, that should be used as a tool...

I can't for the life of me understand the fact that our leaders do not bring up the 500 mustard and sarin filled shells that have been found since entering Iraq. Our guys just seem to fold. We have legitimate proof, but everyone caves on this... Why? Even if you accept that they were no longer powerful enough to cause damage (which I don't), we have found WMDS.. period.

Letter from a Soldier in Iraq: My name is SSG Michael J. Sanow. I am currently stationed in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Since I have been here I have had many interesting, and sometimes tense, experiences. Of all of my experiences, though, there has been one positive experience that stands out above all others. Since I have been in Iraq I have had the honor to meet some very good Iraqi people who have not only performed work for the Army, specifically my Battalion, but have also become my good friends. Almost daily, of the thousands of...

I need some ammo to help battle a bunch of libs on the Iraq topic. They are all over the liberal media portrayal, and keep saying over and over that iraq is doomed. I'd like to show them article after article (especially with pro American pics) about how things are really going. I've been searching about the net, and have found some materials, but I could use some help if you have any. I'll compile the list and post it also. Thanks Dan

Iran says they have video shot by an unmanned drone showing a US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf. (Hat tip: LGF readers.) Iran’s Arabic language television station broadcast footage it claimed showed a US aircraft carrier cruising in Gulf waters it said was taken by an unmanned Iranian drone. The brief minute-long film, which was shown on Al-Alam television’s evening news bulletin, showed wobbly aerial footage of an aircraft carrier stacked with war planes as it sailed. The television’s anchor said the film, the property of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, showed a vessel from “the US fleet in the...

History was made this week! For the first time in four election cycles, Democrats are not attacking the Diebold Corp. the day after the election, accusing it of rigging its voting machines. I guess Diebold has finally been vindicated.

A tipster sent me a page from the Los Angeles public school teachers union's newspaper. You'll be happy to know that Bush Derangement Syndrome is blossoming in government schools--and that union leaders are making sure to reward their little propaganda artists-in-training. In Tuesday's Times, the paper detailed a leaked working paper from the office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction. The draft report was highly critical of the U.S.-led reconstruction of Iraq, deeming the effort a failure in large part. Though incomplete, illegally leaked and intended as an internal document for discussion, The Times chose to run the story. Once again, The New York Times, not the Bush administration, has broken the law protecting our nation's security, violating U.S. Code Title 18, Part I, Chapter 37, Section 798, pertaining to the illegal release of national-security information.

ENGLEWOOD, Pa. -- Mary Kathleen O'Connor, 16, doing some studying for school about 6 a.m. Tuesday, said she was the first to be startled by an apparent Christmas tree stowaway. "I'm looking at the tree and the angel just pops off," she said. "And a second later, this head just popped up. The eyes were, like, glowing. I was thinking, 'Oh my God!' And I screamed." Other family members came running. "We looked at it and I thought it might have been a fake," said her father, Michael O'Connor, a Frackville attorney. "But then it moved its head. And I...

A few minutes ago on Fox News, a debate was going on between a ridiculous lib, and the fellow who's been sitting in for Hannity opposite skull head. The audience let out a slight boo as the guy tried to insinuate that we've just been lucky since 911. The moderator said something to the effect of "Sounds like the audience doesn't agree. Lets ask the audience. How many of you think that we've just been lucky?" Not a single hand went up."How many think we haven't been attacked because of the patriot act?". CHEERS and EVERY HAND WENT UP!

So much for the popularly peddled view that anti-Americanism in the Muslim world is so pervasive and deep-rooted it might take generations to alter. A new poll from Pakistan, a critical front-line in the war on terror, paints a very different picture--by revealing a sea-change in public opinion in recent months. Long a stronghold for Islamic extremists and the world's second-most populous Muslim nation, Pakistanis now hold a more favorable opinion of the U.S. than at any time since 9/11, while support for al Qaeda in its home base has dropped to its lowest level since then. The direct cause...
