IRR Call-Up Update As of Sep. 22, 2004, the U.S. Army Human Resources Command - St. Louis (HRC-STL) has sent Western Union Mailgram notifications to approximately 3,644 Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) Soldiers being mobilized in support of the Global War on Terror. The command began sending notifications July 6 under a planned 5,600 IRR Soldier call-up, occurring from approximately August to December 2004. Each Soldier will have a minimum of at least 30 days from notification prior to being required to report to a designated mobilization station.

The Pentagon is expected to mobilize 80,000 troops over the next several months and that may create some holes in the Republican ranks of the Wisconsin Legislature. At least four state legislators, all Republicans, serve as part-time soldiers. They are: Reps. Stephen Nass, Mark Gundrum, and Scott Suder along with Sen. Scott Fitzgerald.
