Sort of mixing my football metaphors here, but Obama made the haughty comment after the Bin Laden operation that he didn’t need to “spike the football.” Well, a change of heart came over the president and he made a web video bragging about offing the al-Qaeda chief: Fourteen million unemployed or underemployed Americans in an election year will have that effect on a president.Weekly Standard: The narrator in the ad is former President Bill Clinton. This latest ad contradicts President Obama’s own pledge after he took out bin Laden. “You know, we don’t trot out this stuff as trophies,” Obama told...

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cains campaign says its overnight viral sensation is no joke. The quirky YouTube video showing chief of staff Mark Block taking a drag on a cigarette while asking supporters to get involved in the campaign is for real. It was meant to tell supporters about the campaign, campaign spokesman J.D. Gordon told The Daily Caller in an email. It was a video with an edge as the Chief of Staff says, just Block being Block, Gordon told TheDC.

[snip] The ad scares me. It's actually the 2012 trailer, but without the waves and wolves because Perry does not believe in man-made global warming. This would make a great summer blockbuster. I can see sequel potential, and theres even Shia LaBoeuf-level acting. But the message is startling. Is Perry's main selling point really, It's the Apocalypse, and I am the Only Hope For America? Because, frankly, this is not what I was hoping for from my presidential candidates. Also, here is some footage of horses! Zero Change and Zero Jobs. Thank heavens REAL GOLD-FONT ALL-CAPS AMERICAN Rick Perry is...

"As a decedent of generations of Iowans, I was born and raised in Waterloo. As a mom of five, a foster parent and a former tax lawyer and now a small business job creator, I know we cant keep spending money that we dont have," GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann (Minn.) says in his first advertisement. "That's why I fought against the wasteful bailout, against the stimulus. I will not vote to increase the debt ceiling."

Obama 2012 campaign: President Obama himself makes an unexpected announcement about the upcoming "Dinner with Barack" contest. To participate in the contest you need to donate at least $5 to the campaign and your name will be raffled off to enjoy a dinner with the President, airfare and accommodations included. In a new web video, Obama announced Vice President Joe Biden will also be attending the dinner. There is one problem, however. This campaign ad was most likely recorded in the White House, which may have violated FEC campaign finance laws.

NEW YORK For TV viewers, this cutthroat election year is a riot of attack ads and media saturation made possible by big-money donors. For TV stations, it's a stimulus package. One research group expects TV political spending to hit a record $3 billion. The windfall may continue well past Election Day because regular advertisers are getting squeezed out of the schedule and could spend their ad budgets later. Coming out of a recession that put some broadcasters in or near bankruptcy protection, political spending is emerging as a critical but temporary source of revenue. Several factors created...

Congressman and US Senate candidate Joe Sestak (D-Pennsylvania) has released a new ad today highlighting his 31 years of military service. The 30 second spot trumpets Mr. Sestak's military career, refers to him as Admiral Joe Sestak and states, "Now he's running to serve Pennsylvania, standing up to the bosses in both parties." But Admiral Sestak didn't go right from his military career to his current senate campaign. In between have been his 2 terms in the US House of Representatives and his strong support for the Obama agenda.

The conservative candidate running in my district (Ben Lange) just released a new web video that is sure to turn some heads! He is definitely who he claims to be -- a genuine conservative alternative to the lib Braley. In fact, Lange recently came out against federal funding for rebuilding a dam in his OWN district because the dam is privately owned and sits on a recreational lake. How refreshing is that? That takes balls. I like him a lot and think he can attract the independents to beat Braley. http://www.langeforcongress.com/ I'm volunteering for his campaign and have already donated!

The Barack Obama campaign has now sent a second letter to the Department of Justice calling for the prosecution of one of American Issues Projects donors for his role in funding a political advertisement in full compliance with all election laws. Having failed in its attempts to get our legal, factual and fully-supported ad off the air, Barack Obamas campaign now wants to put our donors in prison for exercising their right to free speech," said Ed Martin, American Issues Projects president. These over-the-top bullying tactics are reminiscent of the kind of censorship one would see in a Stalinist dictatorship,...

New Anti-Obama Ad [Mark Hemingway] As we get closer to the election, the independent conservative groups are starting to come out of the woodwork. This ad by the Black Republican PAC whose spokesman is Glenn McCall has some pretty sharp elbows. It's running in Ohio as of today. 08/25 11:03 AM

Commentary School Fact Fudging by: Cliff Kincaid, June 24, 2008 What happens when the fact-checkers dont check facts and the watchdogs dont watch? Consider the case of those who claim to be watching politicians for lies and deceptions and pretend to analyze Senator Barack Obamas new patriotic Country I Love television ad, airing in 18 states. The Annenberg Political Fact Check, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, and Washington Post media reporter Howard Kurtz have written analyses of the Obama ad. But they are as flawed as the ad itself. The Obama TV...

ABC Devotes 64 Minutes to Dem White House Contenders; Zero For GOP Posted by Scott Whitlock on July 16, 2007 - 13:57. On Mondays "Good Morning America," ABC devoted 38 minutes of air time to Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards in a town hall special. This is in addition to the over 26 minutes they provided fellow 08 contender Hillary Clinton back in March. Thats a grand total of 64 minutes of publicity for Democratic candidates and zero for Republicans. Now, to be fair to "Good Morning America," GMA host Diane Sawyer did ask tougher, harsher questions than her colleague...

In what will surely be one of the largest ever, if not the largest, in-kind contributions to a presidential campaign if Al Gore decides to run, NBC Universal announced late last week that its networks will devote an incredible 75 hours of time on Saturday, July 7 to showing Gore's Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis. In addition to the entirety of NBC's prime time that night hosted by Ann Curry of NBC News, CNBC will carry seven hours of coverage from 7pm to 2am EDT; Bravo will show the concerts around the world for 18 hours...

The Bob Corker for U.S. Senate campaign today denounced a new Republican National Committee ad that began airing today which, the campaign says, is over the top, tacky and is not reflective of the kind of campaign we are running. The new RNC ad we have just seen on our local broadcast outlets is tacky, over the top and is not reflective of the kind of campaign we are running, said Tom Ingram, campaign chairman for the Corker campaign. While we cannot legally communicate directly with the RNC regarding ads of this nature, we can certainly do so through the...

Attack ads are one thing, but blatantly erroneous attack ads should be exposed for the political tricks they are. One such ad is Democrat James Webb's current "Steer" commercial alleging financial misdeeds by Sen. George Allen -- which Mr. Webb should promptly retract. The ad wrongly claims that Mr. Allen "tried to steer government contracts to a company that paid him in stock options," wrongly claims that Mr. Allen "hid those options for years" and wrongly claims that the options are worth $1.1 million. None of this is true. First, the alleged "steering" of contracts -- it never happened. ......

New York - A cable pay-per-view company has decided not to show a three-hour election eve special with filmmaker Michael Moore that included a showing of his documentary ``Fahrenheit 9/11,'' which is sharply critical of President Bush. The company, iN DEMAND, said Friday that its decision is due to ``legitimate business and legal concerns.'' A spokesman would not elaborate. Moore has just released his movie on DVD and was seeking a TV outlet for the film. Earlier this week, trade publications said Moore was close to a deal with iN DEMAND for ``The Michael Moore Pre-Election Special,'' which also would...

Media Fund Ad Misquotes Bush Pro-Kerry group's ad claims "Bush says he's going to help companies outsource jobs." But Bush never said that. 08.11.2004 Summary An ad released by the Media Fund Aug. 11 is targeted to Ohio, featuring Ohio residents criticizing the President for loss of jobs overseas. In it, one of them says, "When President Bush says he's going to help companies outsource jobs, it's infuriating." Maybe it would be infuriating if Bush really had said that, but he didn't. What Bush has actually said is this: "The best way to deal with job creation and outsourcing is...

Chronicling a campaign day is akin to panning for gold. The shiny nuggets that reporters prize are those rare moments of spontaneity discovered amid the dross of synthetic sound bites and predictable partisan platitudes. That's why the media stars of Wednesday's rollout of the Democratic ticket were the younger children of John and Elizabeth Edwards: Jack, a thumb-sucking, free-spirited, 4-year-old, and Emma Claire, a 6-year-old nervously pretending to be mature for the occasion. Jack and Emma Claire's antics were the one element in the political tableau that not even the most cynical Republican could believe was scripted. Running for president...

Hey, Michael, Where Were Your Friends? Once upon a time, there was Michael Moore the First. He never forgot his friends. Come time for the Washington, DC premiere of Bowling for Columbine a while back, he invited his old buddies in Washingtongave them good seats and spent the rest of the evening with them. During his other movie's premiere, he affectionately recognized how much those old friends helped him and supported him after he was mistreated and let go by Mother Jones. He was generous with his words and time. Now there is Michael Moore the Second. Last night he...

Matt Lauer: "The White House communications director said of your film, it is so outrageously false it's not even worth commenting. CORPUS CHRISTI -- The creator of a commercial for likely Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry has resigned after a newspaper complained that he used its photographs without permission. The Corpus Christi Caller-Times had accused Armando Gutierrez of Corpus Christi of using copyrighted Caller-Times photos in the commercial without clearance. Sunday was the last day Kerry's television ad involving the Hispanic veterans was broadcast, Vizcaino said.

Friends, Thank you for all the incredible letters of support as my film crew and I once again slog our way through the corporate media madhouse. Does it ever end? Are we ever going to get control of our "free press" again? Can you wish upon a star? The Disney spin machine has been working overtime dealing with this censorship debacle of theirs. I don't think they thought they would ever be outed. After all, they know that all of us are supposed to adhere to the unwritten Hollywood Code: Never tell the public how business is done here, never...

Friends, I have never seen a head so far up a Presidential ass (pardon my Falluja) than the one I saw last night at the "news conference" given by George W. Bush. He's still talking about finding "weapons of mass destruction" -- this time on Saddam's "turkey farm." Turkey indeed. Clearly the White House believes there are enough idiots in the 17 swing states who will buy this. I think they are in for a rude awakening. I've been holed up for weeks in the editing room finishing my film ("Fahrenheit 911"). That's why you haven't heard from me lately....

WASHINGTON (AdAge.com) -- Viacom's CBS today rejected a request from liberal group MoveOn to air a 30-second anti-President Bush ad during the Super Bowl, saying the spot violated the network's policy against running issue advocacy advertising. Network policy A CBS spokesman said the decision against broadcasting the spot had nothing to do with either the Super Bowl or the ad's specific issue but was because the network has had a long-term policy not to air issue ads anywhere on the network. A MoveOn spokesperson said the group hopes to appeal the decision within CBS. Produced as a personal project by...

An Open Letter to All Democratic Presidential Campaign Managers Dec. 16, 2003 Last week, a group called "Americans for Jobs, Health Care and Progressive Values" began airing a television ad in New Hampshire and South Carolina attacking Howard Dean's commitment to defending America. The group is headed by a Democratic contributor, and the press secretary is a former aide to one of Dr. Deans rivals. Using the image of Osama bin Laden, it is the kind of fear-mongering attack weve come to expect from Republicans and panders to the worst in voters. I'm writing to call on each one of...

Michael Moore, winner of the 2002 Oscar for Best Documentary for his controversial "Bowling for Columbine," failed to meet submission requirements of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a WorldNetDaily investigation reveals. While critics of the filmmaker and author have called on the academy to investigate whether Moore fabricated scenes in the movie, it also appears he misled the academy about the film's eligibility on purely technical grounds. Candidates for Best Documentary feature have unique procedural requirements for eligibility. According to Rule 12, qualification for the 75th Annual Academy Awards in this category demanded that films be exhibited...

"Is Disney Lying to America About Michael Moore?" Posted by Jon Alvarez Friday, June 13, 2003 Is Disney Lying to America? By now everyone has heard the rumors about Disney being involved with the vile anti-American Michael Moore and his latest project. The proposed title of it is ''Fahrenheit 911'' and it's rumored to be a conspiracy film aimed primarily at attacking President Bush. Many Americans are/were up in arms over this not only because of the nature of the film, but because many feel that Disney represents traditional American values (at least in theory). Now, here's the lowdown on...

Michael Moore's Magic Kingdom In the last two months patriotic Americans have become increasingly disgusted with the behavior of one Michael Moore, a documentary filmmaker considered a genius by the Hollywood establishment. Average Americans were outraged with Moore's vicious attack on President Bush at the Academy Awards, yet he received the best Oscar Award for his documentary "Bowling for Columbine" (which blamed the Columbine High School Massacre on the U.S. military). Now if that wasn't bad enough the geniuses at the Walt Disney Company have given Moore the green light (that is financed) his next masterpiece "Fahrenheit 911." This abomination will...

The widder Carnahan has been running a fishy ad here in Southeast Missouri. My paraphrased version is follows expect in quotation marks. An old country sounding man says that Talent made a big deal of Carnahan going skeet shooting, so he had to go on the air saying he likes to fish. He goes on to say that "Talent did not know that he had to buy a fishing license". He goes on to say that this is not the only whopper that Talent has told.
