BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Carrie Fisher, speaking of sexual harassment charges, or rather the lack of them in this case. There's an amusing anecdote out there, Carrie Fisher's latest autobiography. She's the daughter, by the way, of the movie star Debbie Reynolds. I met Debbie Reynolds once at a House Clinic event. She was the entertainer. She's hilarious. I had forgotten. She is a hilarious comedienne, Debbie Reynolds. That's Carrie Fisher's mom, and Carrie Fisher played Princess Leia in the first Star Wars flick. That was before calling someone princess was sexist. Do you believe Cain had to apologize for calling...
  • Carrie Fisher slams William Shatner's claims Star Trek is better than Star Wars

It is the debate that has been raging between generations of science fiction fans. But Star Trek star William Shatner believed he had delivered the coup de grace two months ago when he delivered a stinging critique he thought proved his franchise was superior. But there is a new hope for Star Wars fans, as original cast member Carrie Fisher has struck back with a rebuke that could return the Jedi-filled universe back to prominence. In a somewhat rambling YouTube video, the Princess Leia star let rip on the rival sci fi favourite. She said: 'They are not in the...

‘Star Wars’ actress: Date with Sen. Dodd brought wild questions from Sen. Kennedy Holy Obi-Wan Kenobi! “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher claims the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) asked her some pretty frank questions while dining out with the star and former Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.). According to published excerpts from Fisher’s new book, “Shockaholic,” the entertainer, best known for her role as Princess Leia, was fresh out of her first stint in rehab and on a date with a then single Dodd back in 1985. Kennedy joined the pair at dinner in D.C.. Fisher writes, “Suddenly, Senator Kennedy, seated...

Can we really trust her on this? It sounds … so unlike him. In a week filled with accusations about skeevy behavior by politicians around women, it’s only right that we pay tribute to the master. “So, [in 1985,] having recently graduated completely healed and normal from my first stint in a rehab, and appearing in an almost perfectly respectable piece of work, I found myself driving from Baltimore to Washington, D.C., to have dinner with Chris Dodd, this senator who I knew virtually nothing about. Nor did Senator Dodd — like most people, then, now and always — have...
  • Bad news: Princess Leia hates racist “teabaggers”

Not a surprise, but I’m not going to lie to you. This one hurts. What’s happened to the world where Leia is on the side of the Empire, my friends? "Is there anyone you haven’t met that you’ve always wanted to? Obama. I’m surprised you haven’t met him. I know. I love him. Hopefully I’ll meet him sometime. I’m just happy he exists. Do you think Tea Party is just people who are pissed that there is an African American president? Yup, and the fact that they chose to call themselves “teabaggers,” which is slang for a certain act involving...

Carrie Fisher knows that when she dies a photo of Princess Leia will pop up during the Academy Awards tribute reel -- and she's accepted it. The born-famous actress (dad Eddie Fisher left mom Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor) has a permanent place in pop culture history thanks to 'Star Wars,' but her personal life has made its share of news. She's currently enjoying massive success with her book and one-woman show, 'Wishful Drinking.' PopEater got a few minutes with the acerbic actress-writer, and she talks candidly about her famous name, the ups and downs of being bipolar, the benefits...

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Republican media adviser R. Gregory Stevens, recently co-chairman of the Bush/Cheney Entertainment Task Force, died in a guest room at the home of longtime friend and actress Carrie Fisher. He was 42. Stevens was found dead by Fisher on Saturday at 10:14 a.m., said David Campbell of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. An autopsy failed to immediately determine the cause of death and the coroner was awaiting lab results. Foul play wasn't suspected, Campbell said Friday. Fisher, the daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and actor Eddie Fisher, played Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" trilogy,...
