Charles Gibson, who steps down Friday as anchor of "ABC's World News," is scheduled to interview President Barack Obama today. The interview is set to air as part of tonight's newscast, which will be anchored from the White House. SNIP I wouldn't be complaining about Obama and his latest TV blitz again if he hadn't used the medium so shamelessly Sunday. Read my comments here. And today, we get more evidence of just how shameless is shameless when it comes to this president and the use of TV for political theater. Remember in the president's interview with Steve Kroft on...

Here is video of Charles Gibson on The View talking about why he is going to retire...(Video)Gibson said he has had a "terrific career" and this past election was "an election of a lifetime" because "It was an amazing moment to say to the country that we have elected an African-American as the 44th President of the United States." Gibson then said "I carried no water for Obama, it was just an amazing moment for the progress of this country."

Following a Monday night look at Tuesday's special election to fill New York's 23rd congressional district seat in which Republican Dede Scozzafava dropped out after falling behind the Democrat and the Conservative Party nominee, ABC anchor Charles Gibson -- instead of wondering why the GOP establishment failed to pick a candidate who upholds basic Republican principles -- delivered the usual liberal media upset over the GOP's lack of a “big tent,” a phrase you never hear when Democrats pick left-wing candidates: A liberal Republican gets forced out of the race by a more conservative guy who was actually not a...

Here is video of an ABC News report finally run on the ACORN Scandal. Anchor Charles Gibson leads into the story, saying "Next we are going to turn to a political firestorm." It was just a few days ago that Gibson said on a Chicago radio station he had not even heard of the ACORN story. I guess that prompted him to look into it. (VIDEO)

Here is audio of Chicago Radio Host Don Wade telling Glenn Beck he was shocked yesterday when ABC News Anchor Charles Gibson said he had not heard about the huge unfolding ACORN Scandal. "My jaw had hit the console," he said. Wade said he believes Gibson really did not know about the story, and that his ignorance of it shows the diminishing relevance of the Network Evening News. . . . (AUDIO)

Army of the InsaneOf all my duties here at Delta-Man probably my least favorite is trolling the liberal websites and reading their crap. I do this for two reasons: first of all so you don’t have to and second, to find out what these idiots are saying and attempt to respond to their arguments in a logical manner. Now I realize that these arguments will never reach these deluded liberals since logic is a concept that’s as foreign to them as responsibility. Instead I attempt to respond to their arguments because that’s how normal people engage in a meaningful debate,...

"While listening to Don Wade and Roma this morning on WLS AM Chicago, they had Charlie Gibson(ABC News Anchor) on as their usual Tuesday morning guest. Don asked Charlie, why, after the senate last night voted to halt funding to ACORN and after three of those video tapes of ACORN employees helping the pimp and prostitute set up shop, there was no mention of it anywhere on the network news. Charlie gave out a most uncomfortable laugh and said that that was the first he heard of it!" Charlie Gibson is either dumbest and most ill informed news anchor in...

Here is unbelievable audio that ABC News Anchor Charlie Gibson saying he has not even heard about the ACORN undercover video scandal! He was asked about it this morning on radio station WLS-AM Chicago. Gibson laughed when asked and said "I don't know about it." He then said condescendingly, "Maybe that's just one you leave to the cables." . . . (AUDIO)

The following is a memo from ABC News president David Westin to ABC News staff today: Today, Charlie Gibson announced to his colleagues at World News that he has decided to step down as anchor effective at the end of this year. I attach below Charlie's full email. I have asked Diane Sawyer to serve as the next anchor of World News, and she will assume that position in January. -snip-

ABC News’ Charles Gibson said he was confident that he was speaking for all Americans when he suggested that long-time anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan “give it a rest.” “Look, as far we are concerned, Sheehan’s antics have served their purpose,” Gibson declared. “Bush is gone. We have a new president. We should all be supporting him in the difficult job of managing the country’s war effort. We should not be tearing him down and aiding the nation’s enemies.” Gibson insisted he meant no disrespect for Ms. Sheehan. “She did a marvelous job when it was needed,” Gibson said. “Her time...

When George W. Bush was President, ABC and Charles Gibson, like most media members, couldn't get enough of anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan. Now that Barack Obama is in the White House, the host of "World News Tonight" is no longer interested in Sheehan, even telling WLS radio in Chicago, "Enough already." I guess she served her purpose as reported by the Washington Examiner's Byron York Thurday: In an appearance August 18 on WLS radio in Chicago, ABC News anchor Charles Gibson was asked about anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan's plans to travel to Martha's Vineyard next week, where she will protest...

Just as Charlie Gibson did in his interview with Sarah Palin, Katie Couric set out to humiliate the Republican vice-presidential candidate with a series of "gotcha" questions. This tactic -- rarely employed with major liberal candidates -- could be used equally effectively against Couric, or most any other liberal member of the television news media. It would be highly instructive to have Couric asked questions in the same way in which she (and Gibson) asked questions of Palin. For example: Q: Critics of the war in Iraq argue that prior to the invasion of Iraq, America had never attacked a...

When I was a kid, rumor had it that “antidisestablishmentarianism” was the longest word in the English language. I actually looked it up once, and discovered it had something to do with the status of the Church of England — which sort of took the fun out of the word. But in college, I decided I liked the idea of defending the establishment against those who sought to disestablish it. Well, I’m older now, and have consorted a bit with various establishments. To know them is not to love them. I’m now a disestablishmentarian. I’ve come to believe that, to...

I believe in hard hitting interviews. With that in mind, I decided to watch the Charles Gibson interview of Sarah Palin last night on 20/20. What I saw was not a hard hitting interview. It was an adversarial attack. Charles Gibson was not acting as an interviewer. He was acting as a prosecutor examining what he thought was a hostile witness. He was playing gotcha, just as Dennis Prager said he had done. He was a smug supercilious elitist. If you want an example of hard hitting but above the belt interviewing you can look to Chris Wallace and the...

A transcript of the unedited interview of Sarah Palin by Charles Gibson clearly shows that ABC News edited out crucial portions of the interview that showed Palin as knowledgeable or presented her answers out of context. This unedited transcript of the first of the Gibson interviews with Palin is available on radio host Mark Levin's website. The sections edited out by ABC News are in bold. The first edit shows Palin responding about meeting with foreign leaders but this was actually in response to a question Gibson asked several questions earlier:

In Governor Sarah Palin's first media interview since her nomination, Charles Gibson has insisted on forcing Sarah Palin to defend something she did not say: GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, "Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God." Are we fighting a holy war? PALIN: You know, I don't know if that was my exact quote. GIBSON: Exact words. The problem is that her full statement simply asked people to pray for soldiers to do the right thing and for US leaders to do God's will in general when sending...

Can you look the country in the eye and say "I have the experience and I have the ability to be...

In last week's primary debate in Pennsylvania, Sen. Barack Obama was directly questioned for the first time on some of his, shall we say, less than savory relationships and less-than-humble sounding words. ABC News's Charlie Gibson did an excellent job of putting him on the spot. Had Obama handled his responses better, he might have been able to put some space between himself and Sen. Hillary Clinton. Not to mention quietly answer some of the questions about inexperience and lack of gravitas. (By the way, funny how the word the media beat into the ground in regard to then-Gov. George...

The left-wing blogosphere's outrage against ABC ["Boycott Fig Newtons!"] over its allegedly unfair questioning of Obama during Wednesday's debate has seeped over into the MSM in the form of Derrick Z. Jackson's Boston Globe column of this morning. While the headline moots the matter as a question "Tough questions or just plain bias?", there's no doubt of the answer in Jackson's mind. Just two paragraphs in, the columnist unleashes [emphasis added]: "In some 1,600 words of transcript, Charles Gibson and George Stephanopoulos tried to eviscerate Obama in Philadelphia on Wednesday."

When The Stiletto spotted this headline in The Billings (MT) Gazette, "Anchor Failure Blamed For Deaths," she thought, "Wow. Katie Couric’s dismal ratings must have finally pushed some executives at CBS News to hurl themselves off the roof of Black Rock.Yes, it really is that bad – and worse: A Gallup Poll finds that 29 percent of Americans "just don’t like" Couric. Negative ratings for NBC’s Brian Williams and ABC’s Charles Gibson were significantly smaller (18 percent and 16 percent, respectively). Couric’s positive ratings (51 percent) also lag, as compared to Williams (59 percent) and Gibson (62 percent). The Associated...
