If This Thread is a Waste of Time, why did you log onto it?

I see it so often that someone logs onto a thread and proclaims it to be a waste of time that it begs the question: Why log onto the thread at all? Isn't it by definition a waste of time? We saw that a lot on Duncan Hunter threads, now on the certifigate threads. I'm sure there are some religion threads that would qualify. So I offer this thread where Freepers can log on and let other freepers which ones they consider to be a waste of time. Maybe at some point in time we'll have the capability to filter...

For all of you with any money left, be aware of the next expected mergers

A chuckle a day... For all of you with any money left, be aware of the next expected mergers so that you can get in on the ground floor and make some BIG bucks. Watch for these consolidations in 2008: 1.) Hale Business Systems, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Fuller Brush, and W R. Grace Co. Will merge and become: Hale, Mary, Fuller, Grace. 2.) PolygramRecords, Warner Bros., and ZestaCrackers join forces and become: Poly, Warner Cracker. 3.) 3M will merge with Goodyear and become: MMMGood. 4. ZippoManufacturing, AudiMotors, Dofasco, and Dakota Mining will merge and become: ZipAudiDoDa . 5. FedEx...

Did you ever notice that the MSM now refers to actresses as actors (same as if they were men)? Did anyone think of the term actress as a demeaning term? This seems silly.

Washington Post 9/19/08: "Obama Was Notably Silent" On The Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Financial Crisis

The Washington Post: "In 2006, John McCain pushed for Fannie and Freddie Regulation while Obama was notably silent. In 2006, he pushed for stronger regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - while Mr. Obama was notably silent. 'If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole,' Mr. McCain warned at the time." Washington Post, "Always For Less Regulation?" The Washington Post, 9/19/08

Obama Lies: He Says One Thing To Bill O'Reilly, And Another Thing To The American People

When Bill O'Reilly interviewed Barack Obama, Obama said that he wanted to return the top tax rate to the CLINTON years, which was 39.5%. Now, Joe Biden and Obama say that Obama wants to return the top tax rate to the REAGAN yeras, which was 28%. He says one thing to one group, another thing to another group. He initially said that he wanted to give a tax cut to 95% of Americans, and increase federal income taxes for those making over $250,000 a year. But when this was exposed as being a lie - since over 40% of Americans...

Tonight, as we prepare for our Debate Party tonight at Trocadero’s, one of the listeners for our radio station AM 1280 The Patriot has to prepare for some hard work cleaning his work van and personal car. He made the mistake of thinking that he could have a bumper sticker showing his support of the station without thugs vandalizing his vehicles. At least he remains in high spirits, as he e-mailed the station with the subject heading, “The Power of a Patriot Bumper Sticker”: I thought you might find these photos interesting. I’ve attached photos of the way I found...

$700 Billion Bailout: Did we not learn our lesson after 9-11?

I'm glad the $700 billion bailout legislation failed to pass in the House monday. The single main reason I'm glad it failed is that Bush, Paulson, Benanke, et.al. pushed so hard to get it passed. Did we not learn our lesson after 9-11. Remember how much Bush wanted the Patriot Act passed? What kind of awful stuff did we find out later was in it? What is the chance this $700 billion bailout deal has some bad stuff in it? I learned my lesson after 9-11. Given that Bush et.al. pushed so hard to get this bailout passed, I suspect...

It Is Time To Get Rid Of The Community Reinvestment Act

The Community Reinvestment Act was passed by the 95th US Congress and signed into law by Jimmy Carter. This Act requires that banks offer credit (home loans, etc) to minorities and the "underpriveleged." Democrats have used code-words to bolster this ACT, saying that it has provided home ownership opportunities to minorities, needy Americans and the "underprivileged." Changes in 1995 allowed groups like ACORN to put pressure on banks to give home loans to unqualified home loan applicants. These changes broke down home loan applications by race and income (among other factors) and allowed community organizing groups (@ssholes like ACORN -...

Will the Media ask Obama if he can pass FBI background check, no drug use past 7 years?

The media was all over George Bush’s alleged past drug use during the 2000 election. All presidential appointees need to pass an FBI background check. One of the questions is have you used drugs in the past seven years. George Bush in 2000, volunteered the answer after heavy media pressure, will the media ask Obama the same question:

This afternoon I was having a discussion about the debate with my husband. When we disagreed on everything about Barrrrrack and McCain. I was told that I am a racist. Voting for McCain over Barrrack does not mean I am a racist. I love this country and I do not want another 9/11 to happen. They keep saying the same old tactics for the last 8 years, but they forget that the majority of people voted for the President. That's what we call a democracy. What are our soldiers fighting for? Protection and Freedom. Black, white or chinese, I'm just...

It isn't even against all religions. Racists have always been around and they always will be around. Racism may be ignorant, immoral and short-sighted, but it isn't illegal.
(vanity) Cat teethbrushing experiences: DO TELL

So earlier today we had a most illuminating thread on the travails of bathing one's cat. Now I'd like to hear from cat owners' experiences with brushing their cats' teeth: How often? How easy is it? How best to do it? We have a cute little kitteh or two here whose breath is beginning to represent The Crypt. And I've heard that remedial dental work on cats can be $pendy as all get-out.
