  • Will Adele sing the next James Bond theme?

    04/02/2012 4:27:12 PM PDT · by Perdogg · 21 replies
Rumors have been floating for quite some time that Adele will record the theme song for the next James Bond movie, "Skyfall" (out in theaters Nov. 9). Now the Grammy-winning singer has all but confirmed this, as she recently revealed in an interview that she'll have a new single out by year's end — but we'll have to wait awhile longer for a full album.
  • Bush Sr. Endorsed Romney. But Where Is George W. Bush? Romney Needs His Endorsement Quickly, Right?

So many (Ryan, Rubio, GHWB, etc) have come forward recently to endorse Romney to be the standard-bearer for the GOP. But curiously missing is GWB... Secondly, Bill Clinton has said very recently that he will soon hold fund-raisers and even stump? for Obama. So where is 43 at - and very recently at that? Pro-Romney forces have said that it is time to quickly rally around the front-runner (Romney). If so, then what better way than for perhaps Romney, Ryan, Rubio, etc, to get or seek Bush 43 to quickly endorse Romney, stump for him and hold fund-raisers for Romney?...

    Marbury v. Madison | April, 02, 2012 | MsLady
I've been talking to some people on fb and someone mentioned Marbury v. Madison. I know nothing about it. But, what I'm hearing is this. Marbury v. Madison was a huge fight where the concept of judicial review was established for the first time. Jefferson and Madison were apoplectic at the thought that the Supreme Court could be able to strike down laws as unconstitutional. So is this what Obama is going to try to use? It doesn't make sense to me. If the Supremes can't strike down an unconstitutional law, what good are they? They can't keep a run...

Okay, I am selling my house in NJ because the property taxes, income taxes and insurance are out of control. Overall we'll be saving $6000-$10000 per year if we move. My wife's drive to work will be about the same my drive will be 10 minutes further. The main reason wanting to leave NJ are for the obvious reasons as I think this state will never change and possibly continue its downward spiral. Anyone that lives in PA that lived in NJ...is there anything to warn me of? Am I going from the frying pan to the frying pan or...

NHRA Pro Stock icon Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, a master of the internal combustion engine and a legend among the Chevrolet faithful, died March 29. He was 81. Jenkins, voted No. 8 among NHRA Drag Racing's greatest racers in a 2001 experts poll, scored just 13 NHRA national event wins but earned his well-deserved spot in drag racing's top 10 because no other individual has contributed more to the advancement of normally aspirated engines for drag racing competition than the legendary "Grump." “Everyone at NHRA is saddened by the passing of Bill ‘Grumpy’ Jenkins, not only a pioneer in the sport,...

Astronomers have measured the precise distance to over a quarter of a million galaxies to gain new insights into a key period in cosmic history. The 3D map of the sky allows scientists to probe the time six billion years ago when dark energy became the dominant influence on the Universe's expansion. No-one knows the true nature of this repulsive force, but the exquisite data in the international BOSS survey will help test various theories. The analysis appears in six papers. These have all been posted on the arXiv preprint server. "This is an incredibly exciting time to be working...

Holy cr@p! This zombie attack bike is powered by a chainsaw I'm sorry, did you think I meant a chainsaw motor? I suppose that's understandable (after all, two-stroke chainsaw engines are often used to convert bicycles into rear-wheel-drive motorbikes), but I didn't say chainsaw motor, did I? I said chainsaw. Because whoever pieced together this unholy death machine has clearly left the power source attached to a number of other components. They've even opted for a FWD conversion so that the saw's guide blade and cutting chain could be front-mounted. 100% terrifying, 100% brilliant. Perfect for plowing through hordes of...

Who is buried in the Hoover Dam? The Hoover Dam is one of the most phenomenal structures in modern history. This 1244 feet long, 660 feet thick, and 726 feet high concrete behemoth holds back so much water that it deformed the earth's crust and caused 600 small earthquakes in the decade after its construction. Over 100 workers died constructing the Hoover Dam — and legend has it, some of them are buried within its concrete facade. Is there anything to these rumors? An enormous number of deaths - Over 100 people died in the construction of the Hoover Dam....
  • Debating Healthcare

When debating health care I think the left is relentlessly pursuing government intervention until ultimately it controls all aspects, but those of us opposed to socializing it fail in the sense that we don't comprehensively define our position or instead actively rally to restore a free market. What we need is to look at the cumulative effect of the HMO Act of 73 of the government creating HMOs, EMTALA forcing hospitals to treat anyone that walks into an emergency room, massive entitlements like Medicare and Medicaid, and other programs like SCHIP on health care..there seems to be a hole here....

Marc Faber: Continuing Financial Crisis Must Be Endured March 26, 2012 | 21 commentsby: CFA Institute | includes: DIA, IVV, QQQ, SPY, VTI By Ed Bace, CFA Marc Faber, editor of “The Gloom, Boom and Doom Report,” kicked off the CFA Institute Middle East Investment Conference by quoting Ernest Hemingway who said, “The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring permanent ruin.” On this downcast note, Faber attacked short-term Keynesian spending and reviewed the implications for investors of the accelerating shift of world economic and...
