It was a touching image, especially for someone like me who grew up in a racially charged city in northern New Jersey, for whom Bruce Springsteen and Clarence Clemons constituted a singular image of a post-racist future even as local cops could still harass and brutalise young black men with relative impunity... Whether or not you voted for Obama in 2008, it was hard not to be teary-eyed on election night watching an African American man win the presidency of a country that during his lifetime was still routinely lynching black men... That things haven't turned out quite as most...

I have been getting hit with tons of e-mails in the last hour from every GOP and Tea Party group across the country asking to fund legal fund's. 12 hours ago they wanted more money for commercials and more ad's. No more money. FR is the only political place I will ever fund again. I didn't even have the money to give at the rate I gave it to these organizations who all are trotting out the same line as they did 4 years ago..."The fight has just begun..."? Excuse me? I for one have fought in the streets, with...

When Bret Farve was QB for Minnesota in the Superbowl, all he had to do was take a knee and burn out the clock, but No, he made a choice and he lost due to his choice. Mr. Romney, the same, instead he played it safe and took a knee and decided to burn out the clock when he should have gone after Obama in debate 3 on Beghazi. This we a mistake and the The Lord set sandy and all is history. So, it's no ones fault but Romney's and being the person that he campaigned as, I am...

As any poker player knows, those 8 percent chances do come up once in a while. If it happens this year, then a lot of polling firms will have to re-examine their assumptions — and we will have to re-examine ours about how trustworthy the polls are. But the odds are that Mr. Obama will win another term.

Tonight revenge won! He went from Hope&Change to Divide&Rule. I look at this amazing, exceptional, talented ticket, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and think what a gift at this dire time was presented to our country, and America chose the angry, bitter, spiteful community divider. What an utterly sad moment. I just want to cry, NOT FOR MYSELF and my personal investments in these Republicans. I want to cry for the opportunity we just threw to the wind.

Here we are- we know how the Book resolves. Love- for neighbors, children, the unborn- and even our enemies wins in the end. Truth and Righteousness are the ultimate victors. I'll fight and advocate until I breathe my last. This was once a great, the greatest of Nations. Losing this election does not make our case any less pure, or right. This country may soon devolve along evident fault lines. The most evident break is rural versus urban. Guess who will eat better.

Sitting here browsing FR with my cat and getting somewhat blotto over the depressing election results. This is indeed a dark day in America. I never thought I would live to see the day that my country would willingly embrace socialism.

  • Washington state legalizes marijuana

    11/06/2012 9:36:26 PM PST · by djf · 90 replies
I-502, a voter initiative designed to legalize the possession and personal use of Marijuana, appears to have passed. With 50% of the statewide votes counted, the initiative leads with a 55% to 45% approval rating. Up to one ounce of marijuana, grown at state-licensed facilities, and sold (and TAXED!) at state retail locations, will now be allowed. There will be standards set for driving while impaired, as well as a zero-tolerance policy for persons under 21. It is estimated it will take about a year for all the machinery to get set up before people can buy retail hooch! Negotiations...
  • Vanity: Candy Crowley and Chris Christie probably cost Romney the election.

Candy Crowley ruined the second debate with her interference, CBS withheld damning video of Obama on 9/12 denying the Benghazi attack was terrorism. Romney was thrown off his game by the MSM covering for Obama. After Sandy, Chris Christie injected himself into the campaign by shamelessly giving Obama wet sloppy kisses when he toured the Jersey shore after Sandy. I think this may have hurt Romney more than we all know, because the MSM ran three straight days of Christie/Obama giving each other wet sloppy kisses.

It is time for all Americans to come together to demand the integrity and trustworthiness of every vote cast. We should demand that every vote can be matched to a legal living resident in the community it was cast. No matter how long it takes--especially in the swing states.

The 19th of May, 1780, was a remarkable day. Candles were lighted in many houses; the birds were silent and disappeared, and the fowls retired to roost. The legislature of Connecticut was then in session at Hartford.A very general opinion prevailed, that the day of judgment was at hand. The house of Representatives, being unable to transact their business, adjourned. A proposal to adjourn the Council was under consideration. When the opinion of Colonel Davenport was asked, he answered, "I am against an adjournment. The day of judgment is either approaching, or it is not. If it is not, there is...
