Jimmy Kimmel blamed Netflix for the 90th annual Academy Awards getting the lowest television ratings in the show's history. Kimmel, who attacks President Donald Trump and conservatives regularly on his ABC late-night show, hosted the Oscars for the second straight year, seeing disappointing ratings both times. The 2018 Oscars appear to have suffered a substantial 19 percent ratings drop compared to the show in 2017. On his Tuesday, Kimmel blamed the streaming service for the Oscars' problems after Trump criticized the awards on Twitter, which the Daily Wire reported. "Trump loves saying the ratings are down as if to insinuate...

Until I was 8 years old, I lived in a country that the police didn’t carry guns, women could walk in the streets as late as they wanted with no fear of violence. Besides movies, I had never seen anyone shoot or own a gun beyond a BB gun! This county was Iran. When the revolution happened, I witnessed the army and police raid peoples homes, rape the woman and girls, kill the men and children, and steal their property. The simple reason, they were against the revolutions or pro-Shah. It is arguable about which was worse, the Shah or...

LYNWOOD (CBSLA) — A McDonald’s in Lynwood turned its golden arches upside down in celebration of International Women’s Day. The fast food chain said flipping its logo is “in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere.” International Women’s Day takes place March 8. KCAL9’s Tom Wait reported from the Lynwood location. He reported that this location seemed to be the only one taking part in the celebration locally. 19-year-old Cynthia Longoria, who lives and works in Lynwood, said she appreciated the gesture. “That’s amazing,” she said, “as a female in a low income family. from a minority, it’s great...

A U.S. Navy warship made a “sudden turn,” colliding with a commercial vessel in Singapore territorial waters and resulting in the deaths of 10 U.S. sailors, Singapore's government said in a report Thursday. ... A review of deadly ship collisions in the Asia-Pacific showed sailors were undertrained and overworked, Reuters reported. The U.S. Navy subsequently announced a series of systemic reforms in hopes of restoring basic naval skills and “alertness at sea.” Just two days after the McCain crashed, Vice Adm. Joseph Aucoin was relieved of his duty as commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet. The sudden turn by the McCain...

The Tiangong-1 space station, which is hurtling towards Earth carrying a 'highly toxic chemical', will likely hit sometime between March 24 and April 19... Exactly where it will hit is slightly harder to predict, although experts agree it will be somewhere between latitudes of 43° north and 43° south. On September 14, 2016, China made an official statement predicting Tiangong-1 would reenter the atmosphere in the latter half of 2017. (???)

Amazon’s Alexa has been letting out an unprompted, creepy cackle - startling users of the best-selling voice assistant. The laugh, described by some as “witch like” was reported to sometimes happen without the device being “woken” up. Others reported the laugh occurring when they asked Alexa to perform a different task, such as playing music. "We’re aware of this and working to fix it,” Amazon said. "In rare circumstances, Alexa can mistakenly hear the phrase 'Alexa, laugh'. "We are changing that phrase to be 'Alexa, can you laugh?' which is less likely to have false positives, and we are disabling...

RUSH: So going into the primary yesterday, we were told that this was going to be where we would all learn that the end for Trump is just months away. It was going to be the perfect storm built by the perfect recipes. Here we have a classic red state. And this red state has the kind of people in it that the left has never been able to beat. And they don’t like ’em. These are Texans. And they hunt, and they fish, they have guns, they drive big cars, they talk big, they live big, and they are,...

Notorious race imposter Rachel Dolezal will not go away. In 2015, the 40-year-old civil rights activist was catapulted into the national spotlight after she was exposed for lying about her African-American background. Though she later admitted both of her biological parents were white, Dolezal attempted to defend herself by claiming to identify as “trans-black.” The fact that she has refused to change her position has resulted in widespread backlash. And it has apparently impacted her children. On Wednesday, Netflix released a clip of their upcoming original documentary titled The Rachel Divide. Vulture reports award-winning filmmaker Laura Brownson followed Dolezal and...

Last week, at least two dozen producers who ship milk to Dean Foods in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Ohio were told they have until May 31, 2018 to find a new home for their milk. “Unfortunately, Dean Foods has made the difficult decision to end milk procurement contracts with a number of farmers in about 90 days,” says Reace Smith director of corporate communications at Dean Foods. “We regret this decision had to be made.” If this sounds familiar that’s because, almost one year ago, producers in Wisconsin were told by their processor, Grassland Dairy, that they...

All the reasons for refusing to allow ourselves to be led by children were summed up in the latest coronation of the Parkland kids, this time by ancient leftist Bill Maher. He invited David Hogg and Cameron Kasky on his show so Hogg could boast about hanging up on the President of the United States, and so Kasky could give us this sanctimonious little lecture: “I mean this sincerely, I really do, to all the generations before us, we sincerely accept your apology. We appreciate that you are willing to let us rebuild the world that you f—ed up.” This...

Last month, reports emerged that Apple’s new “spaceship” campus in Cupertino, California—which hosts roughly 13,000 employees behind around 3,000 giant panes of glass—had resulted in the company’s employees repeatedly injuring themselves by walking straight into the semi-visible walls. Cupertino building officials allegedly warned Apple that the $5 billion Apple Park design would lead to just that happening, and per a public-records request by the San Francisco Chronicle, we now have 911 call records from at least three times those officials were proven right. On January 2nd, 2018, area 911 services fielded two separate calls regarding distracted Apple workers who...

CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King on Tuesday urged her best friend Oprah Winfrey to run against Donald Trump in 2020. King even absurdly insisted she could stay on at CBS and cover the race “impartially.” The co-host, it turns out, has been lobbying her friend to run for months. On the show, King pleaded, “But I also think you have a unique ability in terms of healing and connecting all people.” King even cited the late poet Maya Angelou, pleading to Winfrey: “What do you think Maya would say? It's one of these times I wish Maya was here....

FORT HUACHUCA — On a chilly Thursday afternoon recently, officers with the 304th Military Intelligence Battalion began taking their spots on an open field of astroturf in the middle of Fort Huachuca. Donning all-black warm-ups and beanies to match, the soldiers tossed their water bottles and bags to the side and lined up. It was time for an Army workout. Every Tuesday and Thursday, the battalion goes through an hour-long set of strength-and-conditioning exercises known as physical readiness training, or PRT. Soldiers do a cardio workout Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays that ranges from sprints to long, 6-mile runs. Whenever they...

The suit, filed against FremantleMedia and NBCUniversal, says that Maureen Allen was volunteering at the Pasadena Convention Center, where "AGT" was also preparing for a taping, when she attempted to roll over a power-cord protector that was obstructing the sole unblocked access ramp at the venue in her motorized wheelchair. According to the suit, filed by Allen's estate, the front wheel of her scooter got caught and turned suddenly, causing it to flip on its side. "Maureen Allen was violently thrown off her scooter onto the hard pavement, and she sustained severe injuries, including injuries to her head and her...

FORT HUACHUCA — Fort Huachuca, in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service and other local cooperative fire agencies, will conduct a prescribed burn on Wednesday, March 7, along Whitside and Irwin to support military training, reduce the risk of wildfires and maintain the ecological integrity of the fire-adapted ecosystems dependent on recurring fire that benefits forest health. Ignitions should start between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., and will probably last an hour and a half to two hours. Prescribed fire activities are expected to continue throughout the year when weather permits. The natural fire regime — or the rate fire...

PHOENIX — Saying it just translates a Latin word already in the state motto, a House panel voted Monday to let schools literally put the word "God'' into classrooms — as long as it's connected to the word "enriches.'' Existing Arizona law says teachers and administrators may read or post a variety of things in any classroom. They range from the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem to published decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court and the writings and speeches of the Founding Fathers' and presidents. It also includes the national motto, which is "In God We Trust.'' SB...
