Suit: NYC eatery patron hurt by falling moose head

NEW YORK – A Web designer says she was struck by the decor at a New York City restaurant — when it fell on her head. Raina Kumra says in a negligence lawsuit filed last week that a 150-pound stuffed moose head with 3-foot-wide antlers plummeted off a wall at the Scandinavian-themed White Slab Palace on Oct. 4 and hit her. She says she suffered a concussion and other injuries. The owner of the Manhattan restaurant hasn't returned a telephone message left by The Associated Press. Nor has Kumra, who's representing herself in the case. Kumra filed her lawsuit in...

NEW YORK -- A restaurant-goer says she was struck by the decor at a Manhattan restaurant -- but not in a visual way. Raina Kumra says in a negligence lawsuit filed last week that a stuffed moose head plummeted off a wall and onto her head at the Scandinavian-themed White Slab Palace on Oct. 4. She says she suffered a concussion and other injuries after being hit by the 150-pound moose head, adorned with 3-foot-wide antlers.

(FLA) Teacher urinates on curb after nearly running over cop

First, she nearly hit a cop while driving. Then she blows "intoxicated" on a breathalyzer test. And, for her final act, she publicly pees in front of strangers. The details: Jennifer Lee De Roberto, 35, of Temple Terrace, is a Hillsborough County elementary school teacher. She was driving by cops on a traffic stop in Fort Myers and nearly hit one. A cop pulled her over. De Roberto, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, opened the car window and the smell of alcohol wafted out of the car, reports the Naples Dily News. She claimed to have had nothing to drink...

PERSONAL VANITY CHAT: Will my 2WD F250 pull a trailer in snow if I use studded tires, etc?

Big snowstorm coming to town today. Many folks interested in snow removal. Rental outfit around the corner has skid-steers to rent. F250 (4.9l, 5speed manual) is ready to go, except one question: It's 2WD, non-limited slip differential. If I put the studded tires on, will it pull the trailer in the snow? I'm not as worried about arterial streets as I am the residential streets I'd be driving into. Risk management...

"If the van is rocking don't come knocking" took on a new meaning after a British woman was arrested for having loud sex that was described in court as "murder" and "unnatural." In April, Caroline Cartwright, 48, was given an anti-social behavior order banning her from making excessive noise, including loud noises during sex. In court Tuesday she admitted breaking the order, the BBC reported . She will be sentenced on Jan. 18. The Mirror reported that she conceded that she failed to comply with the order days after it was issued. Cartwright said that she cannot help making noise...

YouTube "Feather"- A Lower Bandwidth Experience

Yesterday YouTube opened to the public their newest Beta, the YouTube "Feather" service. Feather is a slightly stripped down version of YouTube for those who have low bandwidth and/ or connection issues. Feather stills gives you the YouTube "experience", that is, you can still watch and listen to all of the same videos. The difference is that HQ/HD won't be available, and comments and other "fluff stuff" are limited or removed. The loading and playing of the videos is faster and smoother, I can attest to that.

NEW YORK (AP) — NBA great Charles Barkley says Tiger Woods changed his cell phone number the day after his car accident and is not talking to some of his famous friends. On a show that airs on Sunday on news network HLN, Barkley and filmmaker Spike Lee worry that Woods isn't taking advantage of the invaluable advice that can only be offered by friends who are used to the spotlight. You should reach out to your celebrity friends when things go bad," Barkley told The Associated Press in a phone interview on Tuesday. "They're the only people who understand...

Andrew Sullivan Has Questions About Sarah Palin's Baby(Or "The Audacity of 2 Liberal Hypocrites")

For a good belly laugh, watch this video! :-) Andrew Sullivan "DEFECT(or)" from the conservative party and Joy Behar--two clowns who deserve each other! Attacking Sarah Palin continuously during this interview--maybe they should face reality and in every sentence they use the word "Palin", substitute it for *O*B*A*M*A! What hypocrites. They can't find solid evidence about the governor, so they start making it up--LOL! And Sullivan still can't believe someone with a pioneering spirit like Sarah wouldn't rush to the hospital, climb into a bed and demand an epidural the very first second she felt a contraction with Trig's labor--bwahahaha....

It's the single malt scotch of cheddar. Hook's 15-year-old cheddar, which made its debut Friday at Larry's Market in Brown Deer for $50 a pound, will be available in tony Beverly Hills starting next week.
If the EPA is going to crush what is left of our manufacturing and coal powered electrical energy, what good is the congress? If the Health and Human Services can modify and amend the cradle to grave health care plan being foisted upon us, why have them write a bill in the first place? Maybe it is time to ask our representatives this question. Are you irrelevant?Even kookier, if Obama succeeds in his present course of crashing the US economy so that a "crisis doesn't go to waste" and he claims broad executive powers, what will our congress be able...

Neither side scored well throughout the game, despite many opportunities and tries. Aside from a quick score at the beginning of the first quarter for Resurrection, no one was hitting and it took almost halfway through the period for Wiggins to put the score at 2-2, and it was with 1:30 in the period that the score was tied again at 4-4, but a free throw and a last instant basket made it 7-4 for the...

Ingemar Westlund, aged 68, found the dead body of his wife Agneta, 63, by a lake close to the village of Loftahammer in September 2008.
