Islamic law permits the possession of concubines, or sex slaves.  This has been demonstrated countless times, including through Islamic clerics quoting Islamic scriptures, and through ordinary Muslims, past and present, acting on it.Boko Haram members stand if front of “Allahu Akbar” banner That said, Islamic sanctioned sex-slavery does not perturb the Western world simply because the powers-that-be—specifically academia, media, and government—ignore it, and all other unsavory phenomena associated with Islam, out of existence.Interesting, therefore, are the responses from the authorities—comical one might even say—when one of these everyday anecdotes actually does surface to the general public.Enter the recent abduction...

Police in Hillsville are trying to make sense of a possible kidnapping. According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, a housekeeper at the Quality Inn hotel found a note that said it was from a child named Jasmine Hines. The note's author says she is "missing and the cops are looking for me." The sheriff's office said a search of databanks showed no signs of a missing child named Jasmine Hines. The incident started, according to the sheriff's office, when a Canadian man named Pierre Morand checked into the hotel near Exit 14 on Interstate 77. He rented a room...

An unused, unstamped train ticket helped lead to charges against a Seattle man in the abduction and killing of a 7-year-old Illinois girl in 1957. Prosecutors in northern Illinois' DeKalb County charged Jack Daniel McCullough, 71, on Friday with murdering Maria Ridulph, who was last seen playing with a friend near her home in Sycamore, about 50 miles west of Chicago. Mushroom hunters found Maria's remains five months later in a wooded area about 100 miles from her hometown. McCullough claimed he took the train from Rockford, Ill., to Chicago the day of the abduction. But The Seattle Times, citing...

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti—In a closed courtroom in one of the few government buildings still standing here, Laura Silsby and nine other American missionaries were charged Thursday with abducting children from this earthquake-ravaged capital. When the proceeding was done, the 40-year-old from a mountain valley in Idaho walked out of Le Tribunal de Paix, past a scrum of microphones, cameras and seething Haitians and into a government minivan with a co-defendant. As they waited to return to a fetid cell with mattresses on a concrete floor, they appeared to pray.

In most countries tens - perhaps hundreds - of thousands of children being abducted and sold on the black market would be seen as a national crisis, but not, it seems, in China. The government is touting some success in cracking down on child-trafficking gangs, but Adrian Brown finds distraught Chinese parents taking matters into their own hands. REPORTER: Adrian Brown These grainy images of a supermarket security camera record a young child being abducted. A woman leaves followed by the child, who appears distressed.
