Hidden in among all the recent election news was the defeat of NH State Representative Jenn Coffey (R-Merrimack) who had led the successful fight to reform New Hampshire's knife laws. Coffey, the winner of Blade Magazine's 2011 Publisher's Award, had sponsored the bill that removed penalties for both possession and selling switchblades, dirks, daggers, and stilettos. Her bill which passed and was signed by the governor of New Hampshire changed the emphasis from the tool to the crime. In addition, Coffey is the National Legislative Director for the Second Amendment Sisters. She has written a book, Knives, Lipstick, and Liberty...

An open letter to Ms. Alex Wagner, host of MSNBC’s new program “Now with Alex Wagner” in regard to her recent comments during her November 4th appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher (video can be seen on Real Clear Politics)suggesting that we remove the Second Amendment: Dear Ms. Wagner: With all due respect, your desire to remove the Second Amendment from the United States Constitution is misguided by common misinterpretation of this very important amendment. The right to self-defense is a basic human right. The second amendment is not about hunting; it is not about shooting sports; it is...

MINNEAPOLIS - A $50,000 settlement has been reached in a case stemming from the police raid of a St. Paul home two days before the 2008 Republican National Convention. Sarah Coffey, Erin Stalnaker and Kris Hermes announced Thursday they settled their case with the city of St. Paul and the federal government. Under terms of the settlement, individual officers and agents are dismissed. Defense attorney Jason Hiveley says insurance companies for the city and federal government will cover the payment. The agencies are admitting no wrongdoing. Hiveley says the case was settled for economic reasons.

A capias has been issued for the arrest of Corpus Christi residents Raymond “Ace” Walker, Garratt W. Harris and Paul Isaac Bueno for allegedly killing nine deer on the Walker Ranch and dumping the deer in the Nueces River. “The three men could have been charged with 27 Class A misdemeanors (3 counts times nine deer), but we decided not to ‘throw the book at them’ because they confessed,” said Clay Pipkin, Live Oak County game warden. Walker, Harris and Bueno were charged with waste of game and hunting at night, both Class A misdemeanors, for allegedly killing nine deer...

It would be hard to find a better example of the self absorption exhibited by children of the “Age Of Aquarius” than the inane discussion conducted by President Obama and the Nattering Nitwits of the National Press about the arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates by Cambridge Police. Seriously folks, We, The Public, should shed crocodile tears over the arrest of a Professor with more degrees than intelligence because he could not talk his way out of a routine investigation? And he teaches where? At Harvard? AND he wants to make the incident into some kind of racial issue?...

Attention Hunters! If you plan to spend your recreational hunting dollars in North Carolina realize you do so at peril of your life! Wildlife Enforcement Officers have gone as feral as their brothers in other parts of the “Thin JBT Line” . Without fear of prosecution they now have license to shoot 76 year old landowners hunting their own property.

It has now been over two months since North Carolina Wildlife Enforcement Officer Mark Minton shot and killed 76 year old Cyde Coffey while Coffey was hunting turkeys on his own land. In spite of dozens of news reports the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has yet to release any information about the case and the county District Attorney has yet to issue any statement about imminent prosecution. Family members allege Officer Minton was not in proper uniform and the use of deadly force over an alleged wildlife violation was excessive.

That cup of coffee just not getting it done anymore? How about a Buzz Donut or a Buzzed Bagel? That's what Doctor Robert Bohannon, a Durham, North Carolina, molecular scientist, has come up with. Bohannon says he's developed a way to add caffeine to baked goods, without the bitter taste of caffeine. Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee. While the product is not on the market yet, Bohannon has approached some heavyweight companies, including Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks about carrying it.
