Contessa Brewer, the anchorwoman for MSNBC, is a piece of work. (Beautiful name, by the way: Contessa Brewer.) I’ve never seen her. But I’ve followed her career via the printed press. She’s the one who said, “There are questions about whether this has racial overtones.” She was talking about a pro-gun rally outside a hall where President Obama was giving a speech. “I mean, here you have a man of color in the presidency and white people showing up with guns.” Her network was showing a man packing heat. They were showing just the middle of his body. Turned out...

MSNBC Info-Babe to Congressman: ‘Do you have a degree in economics?’ ‘Yes ma’am, I do. Highest honors’ MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer, you may remember just yesterday said the attack on Rupert Murdoch at a hearing encapsulated what the British were feeling. Today, Contessa “educated” a conservative Representative that if Congress does not raise the debt raising, the country would be “reverting into a depression.” Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said he disagreed which prompted the MSNBC host to ask him if he had a degree in economics.“Yes ma’am, I do. Highest honors,” Rep. Brooks responded.According to his Congressional page: “Mo graduated from...

MSNBC's Contessa Brewer, you may remember just yesterday said the attack on Rupert Murdoch at a hearing encapsulated what the British were feeling. Today, Contessa "educated" a conservative Representative that if Congress does not raise the debt raising, the country would be "reverting into a depression." Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said he disagreed which prompted the MSNBC host to ask him if he had a degree in economics. "Yes ma'am, I do. Highest honors," Rep. Brooks responded. According to his Congressional page: "Mo graduated from Duke University in three years with a double major in political science and economics, with...

Contessa Brewer doesn't have a law degree. So perhaps the MSNBC host was unaware of the old cross-examination adage: never ask a question to which you don't know the answer. Arguing with Rep. Mo Brooks today over raising the debt ceiling, Brewer attempted to discredit the Tea Party Republican freshman Member of Congress from Alabama by asking "do you have a degree in economics?" "Yes, ma'am, I do. Highest honors," [from Duke] answered the courtly congressman. Ruh-roh! Hat tip NB readers CWH and Felix B. View video here.

MSNBC host Contessa Brewer said that people are taking their own lives when their pensions fail. She said “we’re hearing horrific stories, John, about people who are taking their own lives” when the plans they have made for their senior years don’t work out.

MSNBC's Contessa Brewer, who on Monday argued that overturning Don't Ask, Don't Tell is a "civil rights issue," will appear at a July 24 fundraiser in Kentucky to support gay rights in the state. According to a press release: "As the evening’s featured guest, MSNBC’s Brewer, who has several family ties to Kentucky, will speak on the need for a statewide anti-discrimination Fairness law in the Commonwealth from a national news perspective." On Monday's News Live, Brewer implored, "My big question today: Why aren't more American leaders itching for a fight on gay rights?" She also said of ending Don't...

Contessa Brewer got a lot more than she was likely looking for when she interviewed Col. Jack Jacobs this afternoon about the McChrystal situation. The MSNBC host wanted to focus on the impropriety of McChyrstal publicly airing his criticisms of Pres. Obama and others in the chain of command. But while the Medal of Honor recipient readily agreed that McChrystal was out of line, and would probably pay with his job, Jacobs also went out of his way—twice—to add an inconvenient truth: that when it comes to the substance of the criticism, most in the military think McChrystal "was right."...

The MS in MSNBC stands for Morally Superior, I guess. That explains this: “I get frustrated…” said Contessa Brewer. “There was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any kind of Islamic country. … There are a lot of people who want to use terrorist intent to justify writing off people who believe in a certain way or come from certain countries or whose skin color is a certain way. I mean they use it as justification for really outdated bigotry.” This may be a big moment for Contessa Brewer, since...

Contessa Brewer really, really wanted it to be a white Christian because having it be a Pakistani Muslim just ... reinforces reality. It is hard to parody people this stupid.
-
Apparently, from the audio/video, she would have much preferred it was a right-wing militia group. The video is here.

MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer told a radio host today that she’s disappointed the Times Square terrorist is a Pakistani-American Muslim. Why couldn’t it just be an angry white male? That would make things so much easier for the jihadi-supporting left. The Radio Equalizer reported this from today’s Stephanie Miller Show: GatewayPundit has the audio

It appears that it wasn't only media types such as MSNBC's Contessa Brewer who were disappointed that the Times Square bombing suspect turned out to be a Muslim. They were joined by virtually the entire leftwing blogosphere in their frustration that the suspect wasn't a tea party activist or a member of a "rightwing" militia group. Before the identity of the bombing suspect was made known, Kossack "waterboard sean" conducted a poll on who the perpetrator could be. And here are the hilarious results of that poll (I am using Kossack terminology here): An al Qaeda terrorist ---4%An American sympathetic...

Brian Maloney gives us this entry for the Someone Left the Irony On Department, in which Contessa Brewer tells Stephanie Miller that she’s really unhappy that she couldn’t use the Times Square bombing attempt to prove Tea Party “bigotry.” Never mind that this clip shows the bigotry of Brewer in relation to conservatives — that all of the opponents of Barack Obama and the Democrats are somehow the equivalent of the Hutaree militia in Michigan. Brewer really wanted a way to smear conservatives, and now she’ll just have to wait a little longer:

MSNBC's Contessa Brewer appeared on the Stephanie Miller radio show, a small syndicated left-wing talker, and during her appearance she expressed her "frustration" that the Times Square bomber was a Pakistani terrorist instead of a white person. Apparently Brewer had hoped that a new Tim McVeigh perhaps coming from the Tea Party movement would turn out to be responsible for the attempted bombing in New York instead of just another boring ol' radical Islamist terrorist. Brewer told the lefty radio host, "there was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any...

MSNBC host Contessa Brewer appeared on the liberal Stephanie Miller radio show on Tuesday and lamented the fact that the person arrested for the attempted Times Square bombing is a Pakistani American. She complained, "I get frustrated...There was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any kind of Islamic country." [Audio available here.] Brewer continued, "...There are a lot of people who want to use terrorist intent to justify writing off people who believe in a certain way or come from certain countries or whose skin color is a certain way....

Near the end of the 2PM ET hour on MSNBC, anchor Contessa Brewer discussed the ClimateGate scandal only to claim there was no scandal in the emails that seemed to show climate scientists manipulating global warming data: “I mean is someone using differences in semantics to try and play up a controversy that’s not really there?” Brewer spoke with Politico reporter Erica Lovely about the emails in which scientists referred to a “trick” to conceal evidence that contradicted predicted warming trends. Brewer explained: “...there’s a Penn State scientist Michael Mann....He says the word ‘trick’ doesn’t actually refer to any kind...

Relax Contessa! Just get on your knees and well, you know, apologize. Jesse, Al, Jesse, Al, what's the difference right? Jesse despises Contessa, remember she's white, so there is no need for her to get down on her knees and well, you know, apologize, as if he's going to mug her. The look on her face! It was as if Contessa was thinking, 'I'm so so sorry Mr. Black man, It wasn't my fault, I swear. I have oppressed you enough already and am responsible for all the problems in the black community and feel so bad for what my...

On Tuesday, MSNBCs Contessa Brewer fretted over health care reform protesters legally carrying guns: "A man at a pro-health care reform rally...wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip....there are questions about whether this has racial overtones....white people showing up with guns." Brewer failed to mention the man she described was black.

If you don't find yourself laughing, or at least smiling, at this manhandling, you might want to check for a pulse. Contessa Brewer was trying to interview talk-radio host John Ziegler about the Letterman/Palin kerfuffle. Zielger had his own ideas about the interview should be conducted. It is beautiful, right down to Brewer's phony hurt feelings at the end. Sniff, sniff, conservatives are so meeean.View Video Here!

New York—A new Gallup poll has found that Contessa Brewer does appear “slutty.” The poll was taken June 9 – 10, 2009, with 1,500 likely MSNBC viewers. Spurring the poll was the comments by David Lettermen over Sarah Palin, and the John Ziegler interview with Contessa Brewer—who was fit to be tied over Ziegler’s comments. When asked, does Contessa Brewer appear to be “slutty?” An overwhelming amount—80% believed her to be “slutty,” 10% said that she isn’t “slutty,” and 10% were undecided—saying they would need to see more interviews before reaching a conclusion.

MSNBC's Contessa Brewer invited documentarian John Ziegler on her program Wednesday, and got into quite a battle with him over why Sarah Palin should have been at all insulted by David Letterman saying she dresses like a "slutty flight attendant" and her daughter was recently "knocked-up by Alex Rodriguez" during a Yankee game. Brewer actually didn't think there was anything wrong with Letterman making such comments. Even better, as the scrum continued, and Ziegler claimed Palin had more class than most people on MSNBC, Brewer got insulted, and called to her producer, "Cut the mike, please" (video embedded below the...

Talk about standing by your man! When a foreign policy expert explained the timing of today’s Iranian missile launch in terms of a Persian perception of Pres. Obama’s weakness, MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer lept to PBO’s defense, throwing in an invidious comparison with Pres. Bush for good measure. Nile Gardiner, Director of the Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, was Contessa’s guest during the 11 AM hour today. When Brewer asked “why now?” about the Iranian launch, Gardiner responded: “This is an administration that has gone to great lengths here to try and appease opinion in Tehran, extending the hand...

"MSNBC News Live" anchor Contessa Brewer on Tuesday speculated as to whether supposed obstructionism by congressional Republicans may end up hampering the response to the swine flu outbreak.

Everything you thought you knew about MSNBC political slant - throw it out the window, because one MSNBC host says you're probably wrong. MSNBC's Contessa Brewer, appearing on "The Mark Reardon Show" on St. Louis KMOX 1120 AM radio on April 13. Brewer defended her network against the perception that it is a liberal cable news channel. "No, but we're not liberal," Brewer said. "No, we're not liberal. We're not liberal. That's crazy - that's crazy talk." ...more (w/audio)...

It's not often during midday cable news broadcasting you get to see raw emotion from one or two of the hosts. However, when President Barack Obama gets snubbed, there are exceptions to the rule. On MSNBC on April 10, co-hosts Contessa Brewer and Carlos Watson put their disapproval on display for viewers to see while reporting a decision by Arizona State University not to award Obama an honorary degree for speaking at the school's commencement next month. "In other news, President Obama will be giving the commencement address at Arizona State University on May 13th. But the president will not...

This is just too perfect. Earlier today, noting that none of the network morning shows explicitly identified Rod Blagojevich as a Democrat, I wondered out loud how a Republican would be treated in like circumstances. It's taken less than three hours to get our answer. Let's preface this by saying that Norm Coleman is not, repeat not, the target of an investigation. To mention him anywhere within a million miles of Blago is unfair. I'm citing the MSNBC coverage just for purposes of illustrating the double standard. At about 11:20 AM ET, here's how Contessa Brewer threw it to Norah...

Contessa Brewer has suggested that Pres. Bush should be ashamed by his administration's decision to exempt the chemical perchlorate from federal regulation. Speaking with a Republican guest this afternoon, the MNSBC host analogized the decision to Bill Clinton's scandalous last-minute pardons. Did Brewer ever read the official EPA explanation of its ruling, or had she only looked at articles like this one from an environmental activist group, "subtly" featuring a huge photo of a baby drinking from its bottle? It’s one thing for the media to have a bias for Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama, but it’s another thing to be overt about it as MSNBC “Politics of Money” co-host Contessa Brewer was Oct. 20. Brewer slammed conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh in an interview with Republican strategist and MSNBC regular Ron Christie. Limbaugh has suggested former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s endorsement of Obama was based on race. “He [Powell, on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Oct. 19] spent half an hour explaining why he was making that decision and was very clear he wasn’t making...

A couple days ago, speculating that Contessa Brewer might be a closet conservative, I expressed the hope that I wasn't making trouble for her at MSNBC. Maybe I did. For the anchor now has gone out of her way to express PC sentiments that almost make you wonder whether she wasn't trying to prove her liberal bona fides to the MSNBC powers that be. You'd think Jesse Jackson would be the last person who'd normally need to be persuaded to take offense at any comment that could possibly be considered to have racial overtones. Usually, it's a case of duck...

I certainly wouldn't want to create problems for the charming and intelligent Contessa Brewer [file photo]. But again today the MSNBC anchor said something that made me wonder whether she might be a closeted conservative in the belly of the liberal beast. Janet Huckabee, responding to Brewer's question on the possibility that her husband would withdraw from the presidential race, drew a contrast between the Romney and Huckabee campaigns. MSNBC host Contessa Brewer [file photo] has taken some deserved heat here, as when NewsBuster Scott Whitlock caught her here, seemingly rooting for the entire Democratic presidential field. But for at least one brief shining moment this afternoon, Brewer gave the pro-Second Amendment side of the VA Tech argument fair treatment. The fair Contessa's guests were University of Missouri law prof Kris Kobach, a former senior aide to former AG John Ashcroft, and Dennis Henigan of the Brady gun-control group. Brewer began by expressing skepticism as to how additional gun control laws could have helped: "Dennis, let me put you on...

Tucker just read a news flash, announcing that they will no longer simulcast Imus at all, anymore.

How does a crusty, mean-spirited, Kerry-supporting fossil like Don Imus manage to stay on the air? Does he have the best lawyers, who write iron-clad contracts? A world-class superagent? Compromising photos of corporate execs? All of the above? Or is it simply the age-old art of coasting on one's earlier success, where a shrinking energy level meets increasing compensation?
