PHOENIX, AZ --(Ammoland.com)- The lamestream media told you: NBC News is reporting that American politics has reached a milestone. Spending on the 2012 presidential campaign for broadcast radio and TV has surpassed a half billion dollars, and that was before Labor Day, according to Brian Williams. That is greater than the entire cost of the campaign in 2008. The implication is that money is ruling politics and that is not a good thing. President Obama is calling on lawmakers to extend the middle-class tax cuts that are set to expire in 2012 so that 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses don’t pay higher taxes next year. Nearly everyone in Washington agrees that this is the right thing to do, and the Senate has already passed the extension. Republicans in Congress, however, are holding middle-class tax cuts hostage, refusing to extend them unless tax cuts to the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans are also extended.

Speaking at the international human rights center that bears his name, Carter said "we have one of the worst election processes in the world right in the United States of America, and it's almost entirely because of the excessive influx of money." The 39th president lamented a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that allows unlimited contributions to third-party groups that don't have to disclose their donors. School was out in Chicago on Monday and parents scrambled for child care after public school teachers staged the first strike in a quarter century over reforms sought by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and endorsed by President Barack Obama's administration. Some 29,000 teachers and support staff in the nation's third largest school district were involved, leaving parents of 350,000 students between kindergarten and high school age to find alternative supervision.

In the 2012 election, I will be voting for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson. Those who are of a more leftist persuasion than myself might want to consider voting for Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Here are 95 examples of Barack Obama’s lying, lawbreaking, corruption, and cronyism:1) Carried out military interventionism in Libya without Congressional approvalIn June 2011, U.S. Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) said that Obama had violated the Constitution when he...

I’d say unreal, but this is the United Nations we’re talking about. WASHINGTON – A PR duel will be in two and a half weeks during the United Nations General Assembly discussions in New York between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Iranian leader is expected to address the GA on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur, while Netanyahu will speak the next day after arriving in the United States.According to diplomatic sources in New York, the Iranian issue will be at the top of the agenda of the GA’s speakers, although there will be no...
  • New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism. Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)." "The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains. The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of...
  • Democratic National Convention -- What Did We Learn?

Another Democrat National Convention has come and gone (thankfully), and what have we learned if anything? I say nothing new or at least nothing that I didn't expect; but I do have several observations. We learned that today's Democrat Party is nothing like the party of FDR, Harry Truman or John Kennedy. This week delegates paraded around in red, white and blue celebrating government funded abortions, free birth control for all and illegal immigration, while barely voting God and Jerusalem back into their platform. We learned that Democrats more than ever want Americans dependent on government — the bigger the...
  • Losing It in Charlotte

Lee Atwater couldn’t have written a better script for the Democratic National Convention that just ended in Charlotte. The Charlotte fiasco was a less violent version of the fiasco in Chicago in 1968, except the lunacy was now inside the venue, not outside. Tom Brokaw shares the story of how Hubert Humphrey lost the 1968 election after Americans watched television images of the young radicals in Grant Park scaling statues and flying the Viet Cong flag. At that moment, Americans fully appreciated the lawless direction that some wanted to take the country and saw Richard Nixon as the antidote. The...

The days of meaningful floor fights at the nominating conventions where delegations actually selected presidential nominees is long past. Modern conventions are merely lengthy infomercials. Nevertheless, despite my cynicism and low expectations, the 2012 Democratic National Convention has proven to be an absolute train wreck. At times, the official proceedings have bordered upon surrealism (for example, Governor Granholm). I fully expected Jerry Springer to appear and announce that he was acting as the presiding officer of the convention. Who else could better moderate a convention where our ally Israel was maligned and God Almighty was openly mocked? Citing the weather,...

Once there was an unwritten rule that the Federal Reserve would refrain from significant policy adjustments before an election. Few things are as encompassing to culture as our currency, or as vital that they be thought free of intrigues. With public confidence in the dollar diminished, or perturbed by politics, society suffers this dearth of trust in more than just finance. Commentary abounds that Mr. Bernanke will soon commence yet more quantitative easing, QE3 for short. Why? Clearly the ongoing economic stagnation stems not from prohibitively high interest rates. Rates hover just off historic lows. Given the moribund economy, financial...
