Did MSNBC ever vet Al Sharpton? Seriously, with so much of the talk about HBO's Game Change docu-drama focusing on the vetting of Sarah Palin or lack thereof by the McCain campaign, is there any minimum standard of knowledge required to have one's own show on the Lean Forward network? Take Sharpton's mind-boggling misstatement on Morning Joe today. The Reverend Al asserted that in Alabama, "it's against the law to organize unions." Did any of the MJ crew, including Joe Scarborough, Gene Robinson and Steve Rattner, call Al out on his misrepresentation? Of course not. View the video here. k

Derrick Bell, the radical left-wing professor with whom Barack Obama developed a long association, once admitted during a television interview that he, “lives to harass white folks”. Video emerged the other day of Obama as a law school student embracing Bell’s teachings on Critical Race Theory, the idea that the American political and justice systems are inherently racist. Obama says in the video, “Open your hearts and open your minds to the words of Prof. Derrick Bell,” before physically embracing Bell. White House records show Bell repeatedly visited Obama in 2010.

Worried about the rapid rise in the price of gas? Well, Barack Obama has some advice for you. Quit griping: You’re building trucks that use less oil. And you know that’s especially important right now because most of you have probably filled up your gas tank a time or two in the last week, and you’ve seen how quickly the price of gas is going up. A lot of you may have to drive a distance to work. Higher gas prices are like a tax straight out of your paycheck. And for companies that operate a whole fleet of trucks,...

Not long ago, European Union bankers gave the Greeks a €110 billion bailout—along with stern recommendations to stop cooking their books, to go after tax cheaters, to trim fat public payrolls, to reform ludicrous pensions, and to open up the economy to the private sector. The money men were answered with riots, strikes, and defiance in the streets of Athens. Even as the government has nodded that it would enact prescribed austerity measures, it found ways to delay or subvert them. The Greek message, whether deliberate or not, came off as either, “Don’t tell us how to spend your money,”...

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer sent an apology letter to a lesbian and gay advocacy group on campus for his plans to use lavender football jerseys as a form of punishment to players in practice according to 10TV.com and the OSU campus newspaper, The Lantern. The lavender jersey would be given to a player caught "loafing" - or a moment of deceleration - for the second time during a conditioning drill. The concept was created by Ohio State strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti. The school will now use a different color.

Last year, a family of three earning $111,000 a year could afford just 23 percent of homes for sale in San Francisco - mostly in southern neighborhoods, including Bayview-Hunters Point. The median price of a house in the city in 2010 was $668,000. Just 2 percent of new housing units built in the city since 2001 are single-family, detached homes. These were just a few of the scores of statistics presented at a special Board of Supervisors hearing Thursday to help explain why San Francisco is bleeding families with children - losing 5,278 people younger than 18 between 2000 and 2010, according...

Why The Media Wants Romney To Win The Nomination So Badly This recent item in the New York Times below is in good part what's behind the liberal media's desire to see Mitt Romney get the nomination. Now, I don't see Romney quite this way. But the left does. Religion, wealth, a "retro vision of the country." In short, in Romney they see everything they have been working to destroy for decades. They even want to pretend he isn't flawed, hence the over-looking of his many gaffes and retorts that invite his being slammed. But they don't slam him, ......

It has been one week since Rush Limbaugh first called Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute," but the controversy shows no sign of dying down. Now University of Rochester economist and former Slate blogger Steven Landsburg has jumped to Limbaugh's defense. In a blog post, Landsburg argued that while the talk radio host's language may have been off-color, Limbaugh's logic was analytically shrewd. Fluke, Landsburg writes, "deserves only to be ridiculed, mocked, and jeered" for saying that women should have access to contraception." He adds that Limbaugh's demand that Fluke and other Georgetown students post...

Three weeks ago, misogynist Bill Maher donated $1 million to Barack Obama's super PAC. A surprise donation Thursday from comedian Bill Maher made a Super PAC supporting President Obama $1 million richer. The promise of the big check came during a live performance of Maher's stand-up show, CrazyStupidPolitics. Maher tweeted later that the donation to Priorities USA Action had been a surprise to Yahoo!, which broadcast the show. Now, in light of the Sandra Fluke debacle and the left's continuing attack on Rush Limbaugh for calling the 30-year-old activist, which he later apologized for (the apology was rejected), ShePAC is out...

Former U.S. Comptroller David Walker has warned that the U.S. could slide into a debt scenario similar to what Greece is experiencing. “The truth is if you count total U.S. government debt as compared to many of the European nations that are in the news, we’re already worse than they are, and we’re two years away from where Greece was when it had its crisis,” Walker said in a recent interview with CYInterview.com. But he said that the size and economic power of the U.S. means it would have more time to right itself before disaster. Walker served as U.S....

Attention U.S. taxpayers: You now own a piece of a French car company that is drowning in red ink. That’s right. In a move little noticed outside of the business pages, General Motors last week bought more than $400 million in shares of PSA Peugeot Citroen – a 7 percent stake in the company. Because U.S. taxpayers still own roughly one-quarter of GM, they now own a piece of Peugeot. Peugeot can undoubtedly use the cash. Last year, Peugeot’s auto making division lost $123 million. And on March 1 – just a day after the deal with GM was announced...

The company said at the time that it “does not condone such negative comments toward any person.”…Sleep Train’s departure from the program had been billed by some observers as particularly significant because the mattress retailer had been with Limbaugh show for 25 years. Yet the tone of Sleep Train’s withdrawal statement last Friday hinted it might not be pulling out for the long run…Limbaugh spokesman Brian Glicklich on Thursday forwarded a copy...

Reporting from Mobile, Ala.— Rick Santorum renewed his criticism of John F. Kennedy on Thursday night for saying during his 1960 campaign for the presidency that he believed “in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute.” “That’s not America,” the Republican presidential hopeful told a crowd at an Alabama dinner banquet. “That’s France. That’s a naked public square where people of faith are out of bounds.” [SNIP] ......Santorum said he would continue to speak out on the importance of religion in public life. “Please pray for me that I do so more articulately in the future,”...

In partial fulfillment of Andrew Breitbart's promise to "vet" the President this time, the Breitbart.com team posted a video of President Barack Obama as a law student at Harvard. It also ran on Hannity tonight. The video shows the young Obama asking his fellow law students to "Open up your hearts and your minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell." Professor Derrick Bell, the object of young Obama's adoration, was an associate of Reverend Jeremiah Wright and a committed radical. Bell was a proponent of Critical Race Theory, which views virtually all relationships through a lens of perceived race-based...

People often talk about growing up in a time when they didn't have to lock their doors, when their children could go out and play without fear, and when everyone knew (and talked to) their neighbors. It was a time when groups like the Girl Scouts flourished -- when they were viewed as a wholesome club parents could allow their daughters to join without concern that their little girls would be corrupted by feminists with an agenda. As a matter of fact, parents and their daughters would often learn about the Girl Scouts from their churches. But times change, and...

In tomorrow's BLS payroll report, economists forecast an increase of 225,000 private jobs and total non-farm payrolls growth of 210,000. ADP expects 216,000 private jobs. I will take the under. Meanwhile Gallup reports U.S. Unemployment Up in February U.S. unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, increased to 9.1% in February from 8.6% in January and 8.5% in December. The 0.5-percentage-point increase in February compared with January is the largest such month-to-month change Gallup has recorded in its not-seasonally adjusted measure since December 2010, when the rate rose 0.8 points to 9.6% from 8.8% in November. There’s no escaping Solyndra Syndrome. Here in my home state of Colorado, citizen journalists have uncovered our own gaping government-green-loan sinkhole. The stench of Chicago-on-the-Potomac is fouling the fresh Rocky Mountain air. Meet Loveland-based Abound Solar, the lucky winner of a $400 million federal loan guarantee from the Obama administration. Earlier this month, the thin-film cadmium-telluride solar-module maker announced layoffs of nearly 300 employees (70 percent of its work force). In addition, the firm froze plans to build a new factory in Indiana. Abound says it will ride out bad market conditions and “hopefully” survive until the market recovers. But...
