As a citizen of this country, I feel it is my duty to keep informed and not be ignorant of what's going on around me. Anyone who calls themselves a conservative (I believe) should stay informed as to what's going on around them. 'Situational awareness' is important. With that being said...how in the hell do you keep up with the news and not get totally and completely depressed? I see the insane policies of the current administration, the overwhelming ignorance of the electorate who put them there, and the generally deteriorating state of the world. Closer to home, I see...

The Republican Party failed on strategy in raising the debt ceiling. First, they proposed a Cap, Cut, and Balance bill that would only cut spending by $111 billion this year and would allow President Obama to raise the debt ceiling by $2.7 trillion. By 2019, it would cap spending at 19.9% of GDP. This bill fails to address the continuous growth of debt. After the bill died in the US Senate, Speaker John Boehner proposed his own bill that would cut about $900 billion by the next decade and would allow President Obama to raise the debt ceiling between $1.6-$1.8...

As the violence intensifies in Syria, the Obama administration has finally done something to address the situation. President Obama signed an order pushing sanctions against Syria. However, the sanctions did not even target Bashar al-Assad, who is leading the violent attacks. The Obama administration's policy in the Middle East has been cautious and unacceptable.Today, Syrian security forces have killed 42 demonstrators in Daraa using tear gas and bullets. So far, over 500 people have been killed in Syria. In other news, 200 members of the ruling Baath party resigned from the Syrian government and the Muslim Brotherhood called on Syrians...

Yes people, Donald Trump is the first person to force President Obama to release his birth certificate. Here it is: http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/MSNBC/Sections/NEWS/A_Politics/longformbirthcertificate.pdf When has a potential candidate running for president forced the current president of another party to do something he did not want to do? The answer is never! In a press conference in New Hampshire today, Trump said, "I am very honored and proud that I did something no one else could do." Trump nailed Obama on gas prices, "He can control them, if he gets off his basketball court and gets on the phone with these people (OPEC)....

Like [Hal] Lindsey and many who preceded and followed him in pronouncing their generation as “terminal,” [Jeff] Lasseigne is constrained by his dispensational hermeneutic to offer a worldview that is really an “upper-world worldview”: Or as John MacArthur said, “Man’s efforts to bring about a better world . . . amount to little more than rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic to give everyone a better view as the ship sinks” (196).[3] The “rapture” has been a convenient escape hatch for Christians. When times worsened, the “rapture” was preached with great vitality. Millions were assured that before all hell...

Now let’s get down to where the real problem with all this hand wringing over prophetic signs. Given dispensational prophetic presuppositions, there can’t be any prophetic events or preparation of prophetic events this side of what dispensationalists call the “rapture.” If the “rapture” is “imminent,” that is, if it can come at “any moment” and could have come at any moment for the past 2000 years, then it has to be a “signless event.” Keep in mind that I am not a dispensationalist. What I’m about to show is the major flaw in so much talks about “signs of the...

Precipitating a Moment of Truth Is there validity to the alleged phenomenon of Bible codes, or not? In the last two months, BCD again submitted this question to extensive testing. The results: Without a doubt, the phenomenon is real. How can we be so certain? After all, there are some highly intelligent and respected scientists who have vehemently asserted that the entire thing is a hoax. Yet, if you carefully examine their arguments, they do not address the real question at hand. What they say, in effect, is that people can find such codes in any text. Yes, that is...

Exclusive Right Side News report fromthe National Press Club | Cliff Kincaid of America’s Survival and Accuracy in Media hosted a conference Thursday, October 21st at the National Press Club on an all too familiar subject: the ugly spread of Marxism in America, its roots, branches and current manifestations, particularly within the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama. But unlike most conferences, which merely provide distressing detail to perennial complaints about the decline of America, Kincaid and Co. have issued a real call-to-action for the upcoming Republican-led Congress: bring back the House Internal Security Committee

A news source blog for freedom, truth, liberty and common sense. Useless Nations (UN) allow Iran Dictator Mad Man to Spew Hate in NYC Applause for Ahmadinejad September 23, 2010 - 5:39 PM | by: Eric Shawn He was greeted by applause when he walked into the United Nations General Assembly, and applauded again, even after questioning 9/11 and claiming that the American government may have been behind the attack. That’s right, applauded after questioning the motivation for the terrorist attacks, who was responsible for them, and essentially suggesting they were a U.S. plot. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has made a variety...

Just how much power Congress has to regulate commerce is at the core of the Thomas More Law Center's lawsuit against President Barack Obama's health care legislation. The Commerce Clause is listed in the U.S. Constitution and gives Congress the power to regulate interstate commerce. Just how expansive those rights are is an argument in the battle over the health care law. The dispute revolves around the individual mandate of the health care plan that states every U.S. citizen would have to have health insurance. The Thomas More Law Center believes this violates the commerce clause of the Constitution. "I...

Glenn Beck has shown himself to be a hypocrite. In a recent radio interview, Beck prejudged Debra Medina to be a 911 Truther. He has maintained for years, that anyone who questions the official government story is an idiot. Medina admitted there are a lot of good questions that have not been answered, so Beck, has now been telling his audience ever since that she is a radical idiot 911 truther-but the other day-he admitted that he himself has questions about 911-So that would make him one of the dangerous kooks that he tell his audience to avoid and shun-

Or that's what this amusing Washington Times piece should have been titled, instead of "Obama's bipartisan call hits wall of dissent." I'm thinking the headline writer only read the first couple paragraphs... "Despite his continued calls for collaboration, just two weeks after President Obama's State of the Union address, the window has closed on the areas of bipartisan cooperation he laid out, with Republicans saying his budget puts some ideas out of play and Democrats taking others off the table. Republicans say Mr. Obama's list was already fairly short. They rejected out of hand his renewed push for health care...

Inside a secured room at the Eagan Police headquarters is the charred and shredded evidence of a near fatal crime. There's not much left of a winter jacket, worn by a 33-year-old St. Paul man. The alleged copper thief was burned by 69,000 volts of electricity, creating a flash of light in the early morning sky. "There were also calls of a large flash of light seen from several miles away and a large boom," Eagan Officer Danielle Anselment said. Police and paramedics responded to several 911 calls of a man who was on fire at the Dakota Electric power...

I’m working on a new prophecy book. The tentative title is The Christian Prophetic Calendar under the Microscope. I know; it’s not a very good title. That’s why I’m sponsoring a contest. Submit your title suggestion, and if I use it, I’ll give you credit in the book when it’s published plus a $250 gift certificate to purchase anything from American Vision’s store. Email your suggestions to mail@AmericanVision.org. Let me tell you what I have in mind so you can get an idea of what I’m after in a title. I went to our local Barnes & Noble bookstore to...

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- From lost causes to the unattractive, patron saints are associated with virtually every occupation, ailment and activity. St. Gabriel Francis Possenti, a 19th-century Passionist monk and patron saint of Italy's Abruzzi region, clerics and youths, is gaining a line of followers who feel he should be recognized by the Vatican as the patron saint of "handgunners."

Good morning, brothers and sisters; it's always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God's Word.. Forgive the somewhat vanity, but I know Freepers are News conscious so I just was wondering - on August 9th, these were some of the headlines floating around the world... Libya says Mediterranean Union will divide Africa Libya's leader Muammar Gaddafi has reaffirmed his critical stance towards the Union for the Mediterranean - the brainchild of French President Nicolas Sarkozy - saying it will divide the 53-nation African Union. Sarkozy floats idea of joint commissioners French president Nicolas Sarkozy is considering proposals that countries of "similar culture and language circle" should share a commissioner in the new model European Commission,...

Jihad is an ugly word to weak politicians, limp professors and lapdog liberal media who refuse to look at Surah 2:190 in any copy of the Koran and read where every Muslim on Earth gets his marching orders to participate in holy fighting and is clearly commanded that no one but Allah be worshipped. Denial comes so easily for those who noodle aimlessly around recorded facts, or try to change them.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner, a strong favorite to be elected to the Senate this year, has told associates that he is being considered as Barack Obama’s vice presidential running mate. He did not indicate whether he would be receptive to such an offer. Removing Warner from the campaign for the seat now held by retiring Republican Sen. John Warner (no relation) would turn a sure Democratic takeover to a question mark. Mark Warner is heavily favored against the Republican nominee, former Gov. Jim Gilmore, but no substitute Democratic candidate is at hand. Although no Democratic presidential...

Yet despite the absence of any objective knowledge about what had happened, pro- and anti-war news organizations, talk radio shows, columnists, pundits and blogists leapt into the void -- invincibly ignorant of what had happened -- and immediately began making powerful arguments in support of their pre-existing positions. In the middle of a vital presidential election season, millions of American voters got misinformed on perhaps the central issue of the election that is critical to our national safety (whether misinformed for or against the war, we don't know yet). Hair-trigger-released propaganda untempered by even the existence of any objective facts...

After Thursdays speech by Romney on 'Faith in America', I thought I would share what he did not, nor should he have. This is what he believes about Jesus Christ. As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago, we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice. U.S. Billions Fueling Political Crisis in Pakistan by: Emmanuel Opati, December 03, 2007 Analysts are criticizing United States for talking the talk and not walking the walk in the recent Pakistan crisis. Dr. Marvin Weinbaum said the United States bears some responsibility in this quasi-martial law in Pakistan. “President Musharraf had every reason to believe that we would stand with him in the end and we have,” he said. He added that U.S. has been “giving lip service for support of democratic institutions and making excuses for Musharraf’s manhandling of the constitution and civil liberties.” Dr. Weinbaum, a scholar at...

Noted Foreign-Policy Analyst Matthew R. Malcolm has begun a new blog, hosted at http://madmattparadise.blogspot.com The new blog will focus on current events, both pertaining to domestic politics and international news. This geopolitical commentator blends a touch of humor with in-depth analysis. The blog began in earnest this week, with daily postings so far focusing on "A PR Victory in the War on Terror" as well as predictions about the 2008 Presidential Race, which Malcolm seems certain of, as well as an entry about religious freedom in the Middle-East. No doubt you've seen the headline: "Scientists report growing heart valves from stem cells." Another blow to the right wing pro-life kooks, right? Another reason to keep abortion "safe and legal" (safe for whom? - not for the child), right? Slam dunk for the embryonic stem cell crowd, right? Oh, contrario. Of course, you had to plow all the way through to the 10th paragraph to find out that the heart valves were grown from adult stem cells taken from adult bone marrow - no aborted babies required. But at least the UK Guardian had the decency to include the...

As you no doubt know by now, Representative Mark Foley, the Republican congressman from Florida has resigned following the discovery of lurid e-mails and instant messages he sent to male teenage congressional pages. Interestingly, almost every news agency covering this story has carefully omitted the “male” part choosing instead to emphasize the age of Foley’s targets. ABC News, who broke story, led with the headline, “Foley Resigns Over Sexually Explicit Messages to Minors.” The Los Angeles Times ran a story under the headline, “Foley on the Prowl: 2 Creepy 2 B 4Gotten,” which framed the issue around the predatory nature...

REUTERS SAYS PHOTOS OF IDF TROOPS ROASTING MUSLIM BABIES ARE FAKES LONDON -- Reuters News Agency has just announced that it is withdrawing 42,473 photos from its archives that appear to have been altered by Ali bin Jewhater, a Lebanese photographer employed by the agency. It is not so hard and can be a pleasure to tell people what you see. It's harder to speak of what you think you see, what you think is going on and can't prove or defend with data or numbers. That can get tricky. It involves hunches. But here goes. I think there is an unspoken subtext in our national political culture right now. In fact I think it's a subtext to our society. I think that a lot of people are carrying around in their heads, unarticulated and even in some cases unnoticed, a sense that the wheels...
