Walter Reed - Week 212, May 8, 2009, Standing Tall A pleasant evening with the rain holding off. We were on all 4 corners at Walter Reed’s front gate, with the moonbats 50 yards down Georgia Ave. Many honks and waves tonight, and soldiers walking in and out of the front gate kept us busy all night. Three large Medical ambulances arrived with sirens and lights blazing. Our prayers are with the wounded warriors and their families. VictoryNY always makes a point to talk with the soldiers such as Rod, a wounded warrior, and his wife, Stephanie. They are from...

All FReepers and lurkers in good standing are invited to join the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic at our 11th annual freep of the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, May 9, 2009 in Washington, D.C. This is our most fun freep of the year. You never know who in the media and political world you'll meet there. Over the years, we've met and debated the likes of Al Franken, razzed Paul Begala and James Carville, been filmed by Drew Barrymore, cheered on Fox News reporters, met FRiends such as Matt Drudge and Ann Coulter, and FReeped the liberal media...

Gathering of Eagles and Eagles Up has announced this year’s plans for Recruiter Appreciation Day. Armed Forces Day is on Saturday, May 16, but GoE is dedicating the whole week, May 11 to May 16, to Recruiter Appreciation Day. The whole week will give everyone a chance to better plan their Day. The GoE link has a lot of great ideas so be sure to look at it, especially if you are new to this. There have been several One FReeper Recruiter Appreciation visits in the past so don’t think you need a group. Just do it. If the recruiting...

Washington’s Tea Party was beckoning all week but we had to settle for Westminster. [Mrs] T, Fraxinus and myself, [Mr] T, arrived around 6:10 and a good size crowd of about 100 was already there. A light rain was falling but nothing like in D.C. earlier in the day. [Mrs] T took off to start taking pictures, Fraxinus held his sign, and I started to put together my flag pole. Another Tea Partier came up to me and asked if he could hang his “Don’t Tread On Me” on yellow background flag on my pole. Getting some plastic ties, it...

I secured a permit for a March on Washington on 9-12-2009. The next round of tea parties will be on July 4th, but I'm going to start promoting the 9-12 protest as well. The protest will be at the west front of the US Capitol. Please mark your calendars and spread the word! http://912dc.org http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=7955370#/event.php?eid=87720071984&ref=mf

Everyone knows it's Windy! Boy, it was windy! Gusts up to 40 mph. It was our 4th Anniversary and we were going to unveil our new MOAB. Had we put up the MOAB Windy would have... Tripped down the streets of the cityand destroyed it,Smilin' at everybody she sees. But it wouldn't have been funny. Not at all. Windy even captured a moment ... and Cindy's sign ... and sent it sailing right into a little kid in a stroller. Nope, the new MOAB unveiling will have to wait - weather permitting. Honor Roll: Cindy-True-Supporter; [Mr/Mrs] Trooprally; Lurker Bill; RonGKirby;...

Photo credit: Marooned in Marin It's been six years since President Bush launched an attack on - not Iraq, not Bagdad, not a country and its people, but - Saddam Hussein -- Saddam Hussein and; those who would attack the U.S. And on this anniversary day, Brian Becker, Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (A.N.S.W.E.R.) or cANSWER ("CANCER") as we like to call it, organized his scruffy, useless, parasitic contingent to march on Washington once again. The DC Chapter has been there each time to counter protest. In the early years, cANSWER was able round up great...

Finally, some spare time. Between a lot of work that came in last week and preparing for the March 21 Defend Arlington Cemetery Freep, I finally have some spare time. Not much though. WEEK 165 - March 07,2009 Moonbats are like cold blooded animals. When it is cold and rainy, there numbers are low or they don’t show. But when it is warm, they emerge from their assisted living condos and dis-honor our brave military. BELOW: I was also surprised that the “Quackers”, who do not to pledge allegiance to any Country had American flags attached to their banner today....

Walter Reed - Week 203, March 13, 2009, Two Fridays the 13th, in a row don’t bother this group. But just in case, there was a smattering of green to ward off any moonbat negativism. A brisk damp night, but not too cold. For the record, DC starts celebrating St Patrick’s Day the weekend before. BufordP and Trooprally were manning the northwest corner when Cheryl from Missouri came out of Walter Reed to visit. Her husband has cancer and the superb treatment at Walter Reed has put it in remission. Cheryl credits Walter Reed with saving his life. She said...

6 March 2009, Elder Street and Georgia Avenue, Washington, DC DC Chapter Members in attendance: rongkirby, Fraxinus, Trooprally, Lurker Bill, Cindy_true_supporter, 2nd Class Citizen, Plea Deal, Navy Vet, Tom the Red Hunter The moderating temperatures enabled the chapter to deploy our MOAB. Reliable sources informed me that only three people, as opposed to the standard four to six, were required to deploy the MOAB. I don’t know if it was the climate change or the anticipation of adjustment to DST but there was an affect on some of us manning the watch this Friday past. kburi warned us about his...

20 February 2009, Elder Street and Georgia Avenue, Washington, DC Honor Roll: rongkirby, Fraxinus, Trooprally, Lurker Bill, Cindy_true_supporter, 2nd Class Citizen, Plea Deal Photos by Plea Deal and some amateur. You’ll be able to spot the difference. Another chillsome evening (~35 degrees) at Georgia and Elder as the DC Chapter stalwarts moved into position to thank the wounded warriors for protecting us form those who would as soon decapitate us as look at us. It was a typical Friday evening for the DC Chapter. Good friends and lively discussions between waves and shouted “THANK YOUs” to the vehicles exiting and...

Hump Saturday for February - it was a little warmer and less windy than the previous Saturdays. Spring is around the corner. Our enthusiasm is starting to shine brighter than the sun was. We had 9 patriots on the corner today, including Legionnaire Frank. He has been out for a long time with health problems, but with the weather just a little better today, he felt that he had to be there. The Patriots this Saturday included Legionnaires Glenn (USMC - WWII), Halsey (USMC - Korea), Frank (Army- Korea) and Dave (Army - WWII) and Lady Friend, along with Lurker...

There is a Washington, D.C. TEA PARTY planned for this Friday. FReeRepublic is not the primary organizer so please direct your questions to the person/organization in the above link. We are just supporting this great rally against the messiah's kindergarten style presidential rule. This is a good thread to let others know that you will be there and meet up. If you are at CPAC, hopefully you can take a little time out of your busy schedule. I know Bev Perlson of Band of Mothers and some of her patriot friends are going. Walter Reed - Week 200, February 13, 2009, We dismissed any Friday the 13th vibes by focusing on Supporting the Troops, Saturday the 14th, Valentine’s Day and the beginning of President’s Day weekend. A chilly night with a lot of supportive honking traffic. And tonight it seemed that almost every Metro bus driver honked and waved. You betcha we wave back! Counted only five moonbats. Yes, they are still around from 7 to 9 pm (sharp). It may be too much to hope, but it seems like they have lost whatever small amount of enthusiasm they had. Traffic tonight was...
