A new Quinnipiac poll comparing potential Democratic candidates for 2016 comes to a familiar conclusion: Hillary Clinton, if she decides to run, would absolutely dominate the competition. The poll has 65 percent of potential Democratic voters picking Hillary Clinton as their presidential nominee in 2016. That's in line with multiple recent polls — including from Gallup, PPP, and PublicMind — showing Clinton as the overwhelming favorite in a Democratic primary. What's interesting about the Quinnipiac poll is that it conducted a separate survey in which Clinton was removed from the race. Which Democrats come out on top if Clinton decides...

Last night in Washington, Joe Biden stated that abused women fear getting "raped again by the system." He also made the push that Washington, D.C. should be its own state, with two U.S. senators. Via the pool report: Piles of Bidens are here. In addition to Kathleen [Biden's daughter], VP Biden's wife Jill, his sons Beau and Hunter, and his granddaughters Maisy and Finnegan are also here. VP Biden began his remarks by praising Kathleen for the passion she brings to the cause. He described his initial push for VAWA in the early 90s, when "nobody thought very much of...

Alternate headline: “Liberals to discover strange new respect for ‘Natural Born’ Clause circa 2016/2020.” The newly sworn-in Texas senator and rising Republican star was born in Canada, to a mother who was born in Delaware and Cuban father. That’s triggered a debate about whether he’s eligible for the nation’s highest office — nevermind that he’s been in Congress less than a week. While there’s no legal precedent for Cruz’s situation, most constitutional scholars surveyed by POLITICO believe the 42-year-old tea party sensation would be OK. But there’s just enough gray area to stoke controversy, as Cruz learned during his campaign...

On NBC, DEM Rep. --former . Gov Jennifer Granholm (D-MI)-- again repeated VP Biden's line that that was the info we got from the intel, at the time of the attack, and that it was the REP. that cut the defense, thus(as a result) it affected (somehow) the security around the embassy... My question is, why is it that liberals can not stop hammering us on Iraq and refuse to take the truthful answer that we all thought that Saddam Hussein had WMD according to our intel at the time? -- BTW The DEM Mayor Kasim Reed (D-Atlanta) kept spinning...

The New Republic's Noam Scheiber gets a glimpse into Vice President Biden's political operation — and concludes that Biden himself believes he's both a favorite to win in 2016 and poised to inherit swaths of President Obama's political operation: But Biden’s inner circle believes the strategy will position him to inherit key players on President Obama’s political team. The adviser notes, for example, that Jim Messina, the president’s 2012 campaign manager, is a huge Biden fan who could play a leading role in a future campaign: “Jim and the vice president have built up a nice relationship these past four...

Hillary Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines turned faux rapper when he thumped out a rhythmic message to the press vehemently denying that there have been any meetings, back room deals, or nervous talk at the White House about dumping Joe Biden and replacing him with Hillary. Reines had to move quickly to squelch the incessant media chatter about a Joe Biden exit for two simple reasons. One it’s not going to happen. Even if Hillary hadn’t repeatedly and vehemently said it wasn’t going to happen, history has shown presidents almost never dump their VPs in the midst of their reelection bid....

The Republican presidential primary is now stretching into its fourth month, and I am not ashamed to say that I have had about enough pandering and word-mincing to last me a lifetime. With the Rick Santorum adventure drawing its final rasping breaths and seven months of a national campaign looming, I sometimes wish I could close my eyes and open them to a world free of politics and politicians. So, as a little political therapy, if you will, I present Vice President Joe Biden. Whom I love. The idea of dropping Amtrak Joe from the re-election ticket in favor of...

Vice President Joe Biden, long known for making embarrassing verbal gaffes, echoed the cynical criticism many people levy against career politicians, stating he had stayed in the Senate for 36 years because he didn’t want to get “a real job.” Biden was speaking to a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, when he turned to praise the work of Richard M. Daley, the city’s former mayor of over 20 years. “I never had an interest in being a mayor, ’cause that’s a real job. You have to produce,” Biden said, according to a White House pool report. “That’s why I...

Gee willikers, former GOP presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney denounced his latest rival, disgraced former House speaker Newt Gingrich, in his harshest language yet, calling him “zany” in an interview with the New York Times. Beltway folks think that shows Mitt’s fear and ferocity, I think it shows him, again, as an animatron politician devoid of passion who’s stuck in the 1950s. Zany? Gidget was zany. Gingrich is a dangerous huckster, who will apparently say anything to get elected. Romney does seem desperate, whether his goofy language captures it or not. He rolled out an endorsement from the truly zany “I...

The current national Republican favorite has won in the Delaware Republican Party's 2012 Presidential Straw Poll. State GOP Chairman John Sigler tells WDEL News it was a squeaker. (AUDIO AT LINK) Michelle Bachmann and Jon Huntsman tied with 2 percent each, Gary Johnson tallied 1 percent, and there was a write-in vote for Sarah Palin. Sigler says it's too early to tell which candidate will win the nomination, because each candidate seems to "peak" at various times, and there may not be a clear-cut front-runner before the April 24th primary.

The White House has not piped up about Donald Trump yet, but Vice President Joe Biden's daughter Ashley had some choice words for The Donald on her Facebook page Thursday night — saying the developer "makes me ill" and "bring it on!" The Facebook missive by Ashley Biden, who is in her late 20s, came after another day of Trump dominating cable news shows with talk about President Barack Obama's birth certificate. It's an online outburst that was unlikely to have been sanctioned by the White House. POLITICO viewed the posts on page, which is under the name Ashley Blazer,...

A friend suggested tonight, in light of the story published anonymously (and in exceedingly poor taste) about a bawdy night with Christine O’Donnell (allegedly), that Democrats just can’t help themselves. I agree. I’ll not offer the link here, in the name of good taste, but Google is your friend and it won’t be very difficult to find these allegations. More importantly, spend a little time reading beyond the original trainwreck itself; many many people are not impressed, and a dramatically large number of them are women. To name a few: Via The Daily Caller: NOW defends Christine O’Donnell against Gawker’s...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senator John McCain's daughter said on Sunday that Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell of Delaware, a Tea Party favorite, is "seen as a nut job." "Christine O'Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office," Meghan McCain said of her father's fellow Republican, who recently ran an ad declaring, "I'm not a witch." Appearing on ABC's "This Week," McCain said O'Donnell "has no real history, no real success in any kind of business." "And what that sends to my generation is (the message that) one day, you can just wake up and run for Senate, no matter...

Christine O’Donnell has managed to steer clear of outlandishness, writes Lara Marlowe in Wilmington, Delaware SHE’S A laughing stock to political liberals; an all-American girl victimised by arrogant, elitist media to the right-wing Tea Party. Christine O’Donnell, the Republican candidate for the Senate seat that Vice-President Joe Biden held for 36 years, has been the biggest surprise of the 2010 mid-term election season. In two debates here this week with her Democratic opponent, Chris Coons, O’Donnell put up a creditable performance, avoiding the sort of outlandish statements about the evils of masturbation and mice with fully functioning human brains that...

<p>As President Obama steps up his campaign schedule this week, one event is something of a head-scratcher: his trip to Delaware on Friday to campaign for Democratic senatorial candidate Chris Coons.</p>
<p>Coons, of course, appears to be running well ahead of Republican nominee Christine O'Donnell, even in the White House's own assessment. Delaware still leans Democratic, and since the primary defeat of moderate Republican candidate Michael Castle, Democrats have been favored to win.</p>

I’ve poked around the California Senate race for the last several days, in preparation for a piece in the forthcoming National Review. And I discovered, or relearned, something I thought was kind of interesting. You know how many of our band blasted Palin for anointing Christine O’Donnell in the Delaware Senate race, disregarding viability (or so it appeared)? Well, you recall that the GOP Senate primary in California featured three contestants: Carly Fiorina (the ex-CEO and eventual winner), Tom Campbell (the former congressman who is a moderate, basically), and Chuck DeVore (the assemblyman who is a true-blue, four-square conservative). Palin...

Holy Roddy McDowall. Christine O’Donnell doesn’t understand why monkeys can’t turn into people right before her eyes. Bill Maher continued his video torment of O’Donnell by releasing another old clip of her on his HBO show on Friday night, this time showing one in which she argued that “Evolution is a myth.” Maher shot back, “Have you ever looked at a monkey?” To which O’Donnell rebutted, “Why aren’t monkeys still evolving into humans?” The comedian has a soft spot for the sweet-faced Republican Senate candidate from Delaware, but as he told me on Friday, it’s “powerful stupid to think primate...

Observation of the Day Sarah Palin wonders: Gee, where was the same curiosity the MSM is displaying about Christine O’Donnell during 2008? Barack Obama has still not released records all other presidents have made public and the MSM has shown a decided indifference in asking any questions. Which would be curious–except that in 2010, everyone knows that’s how the MSM rolls. “Funny . . . That we are learning more about Christine O’Donnell and her college years, her teenage years, her financial dealings than anybody ever even bothered to ask about Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate and now as...

Yesterday, the Politico reported that loser RINO, Mike Castle, is polling to test the waters for an election campaign as a write-in candidate against Republican Primary Winner, Christine O'Donnell. RINO #5 would join "Evita" Murkowski, RINO # 6, in the GOP Establishment War with the Tea Party. The nature of this election cycle is unparalleled viciousness, showcased by the extreme lengths that the dying GOP Establishment is willing to go to maintain their stranglehold on the party. For this reason, RINOList.org is starting a RINO Watch List for Republicans that have historically promoted Conservative Values and Policies, whom have over...

We have to revisit Christine O’Donnell. In a crop of oddball candidates, she is the clearly emerging as the star. She is Palin times 20. She is frightening, not just in her beliefs but in the scary fact that she could surprise us all and win. Democratic senate nominee Chris Coons is only leading by 11 points at the latest poll. And as we have seen recently, that lead can disappear in a heartbeat. A big factor in Coons shrinking lead is that O’Donnell is getting tons and tons of media attention. Granted, most is not good but you know...

Christine O’Donnell is in a fantasy world. Literally. The pretty Palin Mini-Me identifies with the women of Middle Earth, comparing herself to the female characters in the “Lord of the Rings” novels by J. R. R. Tolkien. “Look at the significance that he gives to Eowyn, the Lady of Rohan,” O’Donnell said on C-Span in 2003. “She was a warrior spirit and, to me, that’s who I love. I mean, I aspire to be soft and gentle like Arwen, but realistically, I’m a fighter, like Eowyn.” O’Donnell said she liked Tolkien’s outlook on gender: “On the one hand, there’s the...

O’Donnell’s victory in Delaware is already being credited to Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Movement, but more credit probably goes to a backlash against a GOP that provided a coronation to a liberal_Republican and used vicious and hate-filled tactics against his opponents, that doubtlessly reminded many Republicans of the tactics Democrats were using against Sarah Palin. I would much rather have had Hayworth knock out McCain, than have O’Donnell knock out Mike Castle. That would have removed one of the Senate’s biggest liberal Republicans, and would have probably given his obnoxious daughter the boot out of the spotlight too....

The response by the Republican political establishment to the Christine O'Donnell victory over liberal Republican Mike Castle in Delaware has been an embarrassment. A strong, vocal woman upturned the political tables in Delaware, a state where both political parties have been run like blue-blooded patriarchies for the better part of half a century, and all the boys that compose "the establishment" can muster is omniscient edicts about her absolute un-electability in a general election. Funny, I don't recall hearing similar talk from the likes of Mssrs. Rove and Cornyn after Scott Brown won in Massachusetts, Joe Miller won in Alaska,...

Sarah Palin bet on Christine O'Donnell, and the victory enhances Palin's stature inside the Republican Party in that straightforward way. More important, it shows that a candidate with her political weaknesses, only much more so -- questions about qualifications, experience, and a confrontational partisan profile, plus some sexism -- can win a Republican Party primary pretty much anywhere. That's all good for Palin, and good for her prospects in particular of being her party's 2012 nominee. I also can't help being reminded today by the storm of media and money on both sides of Palin's own rollout. O'Donnell, various outlets...

“Let’s go balls to the wall for Christine O’Donnell,” Rush Limbaugh implored listeners on his show today, but Rush knows that his listeners are the choir to which he is preaching. It’s the party establishment and the center-right commentariat that needs to hear the message, and in that vein, Rush took on Karl Rove on today’s show. Rush demanded to know why Rove and other establishment figures want to make Christine O’Donnell’s character the issue, when it’s the character of the current administration and Democratic leadership in Congress that should get the focus. Instead of issuing self-fulfilling prophecies of doom,...

Newly minted GOP Senate nominee from Delaware Christine O’Donnell singled out former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for special thanks during her victory speech Tuesday evening. “You betcha!” an ebullient O’Donnell told cheering supporters, using a Palin catch phrase. “There’s another woman I’ve gotta thank, you betcha! When the cheering crowd subsided, O’Donnell continued: “Thank you governor Palin for your endorsement. Because she got behind us war-weary folks, and gave us a boost of encouragement when we needed it. “And she was a vote against the politics of personal destruction,” O’Donnell told the enthusiastic throng. On Sept. 9 a Palin post...

If Christine O'Donnell wins tonight it's not going to matter but here's a pretty amazing finding from our Delaware poll: Barack Obama's approval rating there is now under water at 46% happy with the job he's doing and 48% disapproving. That's a pretty amazing drop in a state where he won 62% of the vote. It's just the most dramatic example of something plaguing Democratic candidates in all of this year's most competitive Senate races though. Currently Nate Silver has 9 seats in the 25-75% probability of either side winning category. Obama won all 9 of those states in 2008....

"The time has come for us to put down the protest signs and pick up the campaign signs" says Amy Kremer of the Tea Party Express. Apparently Sarah Palin agrees. Yesterday Sarah Palin officially endorsed Christine O'Donnell for Delaware Senate on Sean Hannity's show. Hannity tweeted about the incident after the show. It also seems the RNC (Republican National Committee) agrees and is ready to pick up campaign signs… for Mike Castle. The RNC has allegedly been making "robo-calls" to voters in Delaware informing people of Castle's fiscal conservatism. Many already frustrated Delawareans are now becoming angry. They are attempting...

Sarah Palin just offered a surprise endorsement of insurgent Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, calling in to Sean Hannity's radio show to offer her support. The news broke mainly on Twitter, after O'Donnell and Hannity tweeted it. Dave Weigel points out some back-story here: O'Donnell's campaign manager, Matt Moran, comes from the campaign of Dave Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate in upstate New York who briefly captivated people who follow special House elections when he ran a campaign, fueled party by Palin's endorsement, that eventually forced the Republican candidate out of the race and handed the seat to Democrats. It...

Since the huge win in Alaska for Joe Miller, Republican Party Leadership have been making an all out full court press at backstabbing Christine O'Donnell, the likely victor in Delaware's Republican Senate Special Election Primary. Her opponent is none other than #5 RINO Mike Castle! A career GOPer with many connections in the RNC and GOP upper echelons. The above full court press article from National Review is symtomatic of the true problems facing the GOP. Mark Levin's expert analysis into this attack speaks volumes of just how deep the RINO infestation goes. If you think just going up against...

Now RINOs are voting to send more money to poor teachers (union bosses). Following the leadership of House Speaker Nancy Peloski (D-CA), RINOs Joseph Cao (R-LA) [#14 RINO] and Mike Castle (R-DE) [#5 RINO] voted to approve of Federal Aid to Education Jobs, which in reality will be gobbled up by teacher's union bosses to be used in Democrat Election Races.

It would seem as if Rep. Mike Castle is pretty good at the political game of earmarks. He has sponsored or co-sponsored fifty-one earmarks totaling $51,874,600 for the fiscal year of 2010. This number gets him a ranking of 43rd out of 435 representatives. That puts him in the top ten percent of earmark spending. Now there’s something to be proud of.

Vice President Joe Biden and the woman who ran against him last year did some long-distance sparing today. Biden, at a rally for New York congressional Democratic contender Bill Owens, took a verbal shot at former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who's a supporter of Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman in Tuesday's crazy special election for New York's 23rd district (where Republican nominee Dede Scozzafava has dropped out and endorsed the Democrat). Using energy as an issue with which to score some rhetorical points, Biden said that "the fact of the matter is, Sarah Palin thinks the answer to energy is...

The GOP has had five possible candidates: State Rep. Tom Kovach, who is close to Castle; businessman Anthony Wedo; Ferris Wharton, a former prosecutor who narrowly lost to Beau Biden for state Attorney General in 2006; former U.S. Attorney Colm Connolly; and former state Senate Minority Leader Charlie Copeland. "I don't want to make it seem like once we have a candidate, that candidate will be a frontrunner," the source said. "I think everyone knows it will be an uphill battle to hold the seat. But I feel confident that we can run a credible candidate and run a vigorous...

Delaware’s former Democratic lieutenant governor announced Wednesday he will challenge Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.), who is thought to be mulling a run for the Senate. The decision by former Lt. Gov. John Carney (D) could provide a tougher fight for Castle, who cruised to reelection in 2008 with 61 percent of the vote even as President Obama won 62 percent of the vote in Delaware. Democrats have talked frequently about mounting a challenge to Castle, given the Democratic lean of his statewide district. Carney is fresh off a loss in the gubernatorial primary and a failed effort to get appointed...

<p>The Secret Service has selected a fitting enough code name for Gov. Sarah Palin: "Denali," same as the Alaska national park and preserve famed for its mountain peaks and wildlife.</p>
<p>Perhaps even more perfect is their code name for former oil slope worker Todd Palin -- "Driller." McCain and Palin have made drilling for oil a central part of their platform, so much so that "Drill, baby, drill!" is now a regular McCain-Palin rally chant.</p>

Now that’s a bounce and a half … Obama, Biden, the LEFT and the MSM can complain all they want in their efforts to discredit Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin, the truth of the matter is that their efforts are failing and the favorable trend of the McCain/Biden ticket is on the up-swing. The LEFT does not have the right to tell McCain how he is to run their campaign … Obama and his crew only have the right and ability to run theirs in the manner they seem fit. In all honesty, the Obama campaign has been run terribly...

It’s four years later and Bill Lee hasn’t missed a beat. Lee, who narrowly lost a run for governor in 2004 to Ruth Ann Minner, was in Georgetown Tuesday morning to kickoff his gubernatorial campaign. The prayer breakfast at the Georgetown Family Restaurant was the first of nine stops, across all three counties, and marked the beginning of what Lee hopes will be a different outcome this time around. “When I made the intelligent decision not to run, the convention challenged that decision,” Lee said at the Sussex GOP headquarters prior to the breakfast. “I’m grateful they did.” Although Lee...

Jan C. Ting formally kicked off his campaign for the United States Senate today by saying “If you want change, you have to vote for change. He specializes in immigration, national security, and tax law, all of which he has made key themes of his campaign.

Temple University law professor Jan Ting easily won the state Republican Party's endorsement for the United States Senate on Saturday, but his opponent Michael D. Mr. Protack's 11 votes came from the Kent County delegation.
