With more Californians participating in elections through vote by mail, the results for several high-profile races in the Los Angeles area might not be called until days or weeks after Election Day, according to a report. That includes the tightening race between Democratic Rep. Karen Bass, a longtime elected official in southeast LA, and billionaire developer Rick Caruso competing to become mayor of the second-largest city in the nation. According to the Los Angeles Times, "Final results may take days or weeks in certain high-profile races, including a handful of nail-biter congressional contests around the state and a number of...

More than 7,300 flights were canceled or delayed in the U.S. on Sunday due to spikes of COVID-19 cases as many people sought to travel home from their Christmas holiday destinations, USA Today reports. Approximately 5,900 flights were delayed as the omicron variant has led to a surge in coronavirus cases nationwide. About 1,400 flights were canceled altogether, according to the news outlet, which gathered its data from the flight-tracking website FlightAware.

The New Jersey governor’s race is still up in the air thanks to vote-counting debacles plaguing several counties — including in a key area where dozens of machines were shut down before ballots were counted. A mistake by a poll worker led machines in 56 voting districts in Essex County, the state’s second-most populated region, to be turned off before their ballots were tallied, local election officials said. The flub has helped throw a wrench into calling the stunningly tight race between Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy and GOP foe Jack Ciattarelli.

TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, N.M.—Richard Branson is scheduled to travel to the edge of space Sunday in a flight aimed at spurring a new, multibillion-dollar space-tourism industry. The flight, originally scheduled for 9 a.m. ET, was delayed 90 minutes on Sunday because of weather overnight at the launch facility in New Mexico. The launch is now scheduled for 10:30 a.m. ET. At that time, a highflying Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. airplane is expected to take off from the Spaceport America facility near Truth or Consequences. The plane, called the VMS Eve, will carry the spacecraft VSS Unity, which will include Mr....

Advancements in cancer research in the UK could be delayed by two years due to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, The Institute of Cancer Research, London, has said. The ICR, which is a member of the University of London, said on Sunday that while a survey of its researchers from last year estimated delays for cancer patients could be as long as 17 months due to the pandemic, that figure “was an underestimate” according to its chief executive, Paul Workman.
  • Historic First Flight of Mars Helicopter Delayed by NASA – Here’s Why (now will fly no earlier than Apr14)

Based on data from the Ingenuity Mars helicopter that arrived late Friday night, NASA has chosen to reschedule the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter’s first experimental flight to no earlier than April 14. During a high-speed spin test of the rotors on Friday, the command sequence controlling the test ended early due to a “watchdog” timer expiration. This occurred as it was trying to transition the flight computer from ‘Pre-Flight’ to ‘Flight’ mode. The helicopter is safe and healthy and communicated its full telemetry set to Earth. The watchdog timer oversees the command sequence and alerts the system to any potential issues....

North Carolina can accept absentee ballots that are postmarked by Election Day for more than a week afterward, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday. The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals declined to block an extension for accepting the ballots that was announced in late September. The State Board of Elections decided then that absentee ballots could be accepted until Nov. 12 as long as they were mailed by Election Day, lengthening the timeframe from three to nine days. The change was made as part of a legal settlement with voting rights advocates.

Dr. Scott Barbour, an Atlanta-based orthopedic surgeon, noted that some Americans with health problems who avoided seeking medical care due to fears of COVID-19 are now stricken with permanent damage as a result of delayed treatment. He shared his comments on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. Some Americans have had heart attacks and strokes due to avoidance or delays in receiving medical care, Barbour said.

According to Sean and Jason Chaffetz the report’s release continues to be pushed back. It was expected to be released this week but now there is news that it won’t be released until next week.  This is due to intra-agency squabbling over the proposed redactions. The deep state is determined to delay this historic report on the Obama administration’s spying on the Trump campaign. Sean Hannity: Which brings us to the IG report. Congressman Chaffetz, it’s been taking us a long time. And we heard the end of this week. Now we heard the beginning of next week. I can never get...

SLS continues to be this ever receding but very expensive fantasy, scheduled for a future that never arrives, while spending enormous amounts of money that would be far better spent in other ways. The first launch, should it happen in 2020, would be three years later than originally planned, nine years after the initiation of the SLS project, and sixteen years after George Bush first proposed it. For this single unmanned test mission NASA will have spent about $25 billion.

Another day, another plot twist to the 'Awan Brothers,' story. Daily Caller reporter Luke Rosiak discovered Thursday that the Awan brothers' next court date, scheduled for January 8th, 2018, disappeared from the calendar. "Strange: The next #AwanBrothers court date was supposed to be January 8 (after being postponed twice) but it is not showing on the court's calendar as of now," tweeted Rosiak on Thursday. News of the disappearing court date comes amid a report suggesting Imran Awan ran a car dealership that may have fronted as an overseas money laundering operation. Luke Rosiak of the Daily Caller reports: "On...

The U.S. Army announced Tuesday that accused deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's court-martial is delayed until Feb. 6, 2017. This seven-month delay comes as the respective legal counsels filed their motions Tuesday morning at Fort Bragg, N.C. His court-martial had been scheduled for Aug. 8. Army Judge Col. Jeffery Nance presided over the 35-minute hearing, discussing dates and specific legal motions with attorneys. Charges against Bergdahl include desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. Stars and Stripes reported the delay gives attorneys time to pore through classified documents that may contain evidence.

A dispute over classified information has put on hold the court-martial of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl on charges of desertion and cowardice. Col. Jeffrey Nance, the judge in the case, issued a stay in the proceedings while an appeals court rules on what classified information the Bergdahl defense team can receive from the prosecution. The military requested the delay, claiming an "abundance of caution" because some of the information sought hadn't been cleared with federal classification authorities.

New evidence is surfacing that General Motors has known for years about the deadly defects in its vehicles ( as I suggested here last week) that are just now being recalled. The defects have led to the deaths of at least six people and are the basis of an ongoing lawsuit against GM. The deadly recall delay by GM has garnered the attention of Mainstream Media as usually GM-friendly sources like USA Today, The New York Times, CNN Money and even CBS Evening News have rightfully decided that the accusations of deplorable behavior by GM deserve to be shared...

Not only did former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta leak the name of the Navy SEAL group responsible for the killing of Osama Bin Laden in 2011, but the release of the Pentagon Inspector General’s (IG) report revealing the incident, which was ready in July 2012, was delayed until now. In the spring of 2012, GOP members accused Barack Obama’s administration of leaking national security secrets to help Obama get reelected, but the administration denied it. At a CIA awards ceremony on June 24, 2011, Panetta named the SEAL group and its commander. Among those present were 1300 military and...

The Obama administration will release its 2014 budget more than two months late on April 8, according to congressional sources. Pentagon officials have informed the House Armed Services Committee that the budget is coming on April 8, said Claude Chafin, a committee spokesman. A Democratic congressional source confirmed that is the planned release date. The April release means President Obama´s budget will be nine weeks late, as it was due by law on Feb. 4, the first Monday in February. Republicans have slammed Obama for delaying the budget since the first missed deadline.

(CNSNews.com) - A federal advisory committee appointed by the Obama administration to produce a report on climate change says that if Earth’s climate were still “primarily controlled by natural factors”—rather than by man-made global warming—then the next ice age would occur within the next 1,500 years. But now, because of humans, the committee says, the next ice age has been "delayed indefinitely." “Confirmation of what are called Milankovich cycles (cyclical changes in the Earth’s orbit that explain the onset and ending of ice ages) led a few scientists in the 1970s to suggest that the current warm interglacial period might...
