Republican Christine O'Donnell was unable to name a single recent Supreme Court decision she disagreed with during a televised debate with her Democratic rival a moment similar to a 2008 gaffe by her mentor Sarah Palin. Miss O'Donnell, 41, who is running for the senate in Delaware, invited the question when she said she opposed activist judges, citing the recent court decision ordering an immediate halt to military discharges of gays who revealed their sexuality. But when the moderators asked her to name a recent Supreme Court decision with which she disagreed, the Tea Party favourite was unable to name...

Former Massachusetts Governor Michael S. Dukakis, the failed 1988 presidential nominee, recently visited the White House and delivered his strategy for the midterm elections: pound key precincts across the country with the message that Republicans want to implement the same policies that led to the Great Recession. Dukakis, who said in a telephone interview that he "popped in" to the White House while on a trip here several weeks ago, said he told aides to President Obama that Republicans "want to go back and do exactly what got us in this mess in the first place." "It seems to me...

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin alleges that the media has a blatant double standard, shining intense scrutiny on GOP Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell while turning a blind eye to then-candidate Barack Obama's personal history in the 2008 campaign. During an interview with Fox News host Greta Van Susteren Wednesday night, Palin said: "Funny . . . That we are learning more about Christine O'Donnell and her college years, her teenage years, her financial dealings than anybody ever even bothered to ask about Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate and now as our president." (VIDEO AT LINK) Palin also recently...

Many major insurance companies are refusing to write new "Child Only" policies effective Thursday, the day the Obama Health Care plan goes into effect. The Wall Street Journal reports that Aetna Inc., Cigna Corp., WellPoint Inc., Humana Inc. and UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s Golden Rule subsidiary say they will no longer sell new child-only policies. The new law requires them to accept applications from sick children on insurance policies that they sell, but doesn't require them to sell a policy individually to children in the first place. Insurers said children with pre-existing conditions will be able to apply for coverage on...

"Christine O'Donnell is clearly a criminal, and like any crook, she should be prosecuted," Melanie Sloan, CREW executive director, said in a written statement. "Ms. O'Donnell has spent years embezzling money from her campaign to cover her personal expenses. Republicans and Democrats don't agree on much these days, but both sides should agree on one point: Thieves belong in jail, not the United States Senate."

The American people are tired of attack politics and want candidates who will focus on important issues such as reducing taxes, putting families back to work and getting our economy moving again. It is true that I have faced challenging times in this difficult economy, and I think that gives me a better perspective than some of the more privileged in our society. But there are some myths out there, and it is important to dispel some of them.

The media is fawning all over Chris Coons right now. The are just as ready to anoint him to the US Senate today as they were to anoint Mike Castle yesterday. Yet what do we really know about Chris Coons. While everyone is busy micro- investigating Christine O'Donnell we hear little about Coons-other than how lucky he is and how he will win. Well, I don't know much about Chris Coons either. But a little checking brings up a disturbing trait he has in common with Obama. It seems that Chris Coons likes to restrict or hinder access to public...

1-The People are hungry for a Fresh Face-In a year in which voters are looking for a fresh "non-establishment" face..she fits the bill. She has not held office before and the establishment's of both Parties dislike her-all a plus this year. 2-Politics is a Contact Sport-Politics-like, any kind of sales, is a contact sport-the more people you contact the more success you will have. Rather than waiting to be annointed, like Mike Castle, O'Donnell has been all over the state meeting people. She has a personal base of goodwill and is a good campaigner. This will serve her well in...

When Sen. Arlen Specter (R2D2, Pa.) became a Democrat in April 2009, we argued that "the GOP would have been far better off had it persuaded him to remain in the fold." We faulted conservative stalwart Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina for saying, in effect: Good riddance. We saw Specter's switch in isolation and did not imagine it was the start of a trend. We were wrong. Specter, who leans left but is steadfast in defense of whatever he finds expedient for as long as he finds it expedient, faced a challenge that at the time was unique to...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Saying it hands John Kerry a political issue to use in the presidential election, some Republicans are looking to add language downplaying President Bush's position against taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research. Delaware Congressman Mike Castle released a letter to members of the Republican party's platform committee Thursday urging them to include language in the platform advocating Bush's position to be overturned. Castle, who has sponsored legislation seeking to overturn the policy and allow taxpayer funds to pay for the destruction of human embryos in research, wants the upcoming party platform to reflect his position....

Rep. Amo Houghton is leading a revolt of Republican moderates against President Bush's $1.4 trillion tax cut -- a move that could doom the centerpiece of the White House domestic program for this year. Houghton, of Corning, and Rep. Mike Castle of Delaware told House Speaker Dennis Hastert on Thursday that the 11 House GOP members -- including Rep. Jack Quinn of Hamburg -- "cannot"support either the tax cut or the fiscal 2004 budget that Republican

Mike Castle has a serious challenger in Christine O'Donnell. Why is a guy whose been in Politics for decades being challenged. Well, most likely its because he has been in Politics for decades. It seems that Mike Castle has all the traits that Republicans are beginning to dislike these days. First of all he's been there for decades, so people are looking for a fresh face with no ties to the "inside the beltway" group think. Secondly he's not a conservative and breaks ranks to join the Democrats on some key issues.

It would be great if we could organize a series of rallies all up and down the I-95 Corridor to cheer Scott Brown on as he drive the truck down to Washington DC. He is supposed to be driving down Thursday or Friday, so time is obviously short. Maybe it is just a fantasy, but wouldn't it be grand to have a Scott Brown Truck Tour, so all of the folks who weren't lucky enough to be in Massachusetts to vote for him got a chance to come out and show their support? Think of all the free publicity, and...

U.S. Rep. Mike Castle, R-Del., will announce at noon that he's running for former Vice President Joe Biden's Senate seat, a Republican source tells CBS News, setting up what may be one of the Republicans' best shots at taking a Democratic-held Senate seat in 2010. Castle's announcement immediately puts Biden's former seat – a seat he held from 1972 until January - in play for the Republicans, even as Biden's son, state attorney general Beau Biden, readies for his own run. While Delaware is a reliably 'blue' state in presidential elections, the 70-year-old Castle, a moderate Republican, has held statewide...

NEWARK, Del., October 30, 2007—The University of Delaware subjects students in its residence halls to a shocking program of ideological reeducation that is referred to in the university’s own materials as a “treatment” for students’ incorrect attitudes and beliefs. The organization cited excerpts from the university's Office of Residence Life Diversity Education Training documents, including the statement: "A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. 'The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class,...

In the growing list of acceptable bigotries proliferating among those who inhabit the ever-so-progressive Ivory Tower, it seems that Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) veterans are fair game. Just ask University of Delaware political science and international relations professor Muqtedar Khan (also a Pentagon consultant and Brookings Institute Fellow), who refused to share an academic panel yesterday at the University of Delaware with Campus Watch Associate Fellow Asaf Romirowsky. My Campus Watch colleague, Director Winfield Myers, references the story at the Campus Watch blog and Michael Rubin has all the details at NRO's The Corner. I've been given permission to post...

Just returned from Delaware GOP headquarters where I spoke to the Exec Director. The place was hopping with volunteers. There has not been a public poll in DE in over a month, but the latest "supermarket" poll conducted by the state party has Bush down by only a couple points. In the Governor's race, the latest internals have incumbent Ruth Anne Minner tied 49-49 with Bill Lee. This woman was previously thought to be the safest Democrat Governor in the nation. Rumor has it she is spitting mad and cursing her advisors for letting Lee close the gap. If you...

United States Senator Joeseph Biden said he will make a decision by fall at the latest on whether to run for United States President in the Democratic Primary of 2004.'Running for Presdient takes every ounce of your time and energy,' Biden said in an interview in the U.S. Senate Russell Caucus Room, where another Irish Catholic Senator-John Fitzgerald Kennedy-announced his Presidential candidacy more than 40 years ago. 'You cannot be the kind of husband, father and grandfather you want to be.'Still, Biden said he may be compelled to run if President Bush cannot deal effectively with the crises in Iraq...
