"...critics say that theocrats in Tehran intend to use the mosque to establish a recruiting center for the militant Shia Muslim group, Hezbollah in Europe..." The city council of Copenhagen has given its final approval for the construction of the first official "Grand Mosque" in the Danish capital. The mega-mosque will have a massive blue dome as well as two towering minarets and is architecturally designed to stand out on Copenhagen's low-rise skyline. Unlike most mosques in Europe, which cater to Sunni Muslims, the mosque in Copenhagen pertains to Shia Islam. The mosque is being financed by the Islamic Republic...

Lord Kinnock's daughter-in-law Helle Thorning-Schmidt is to become Denmark’s first woman prime minister after winning a knife-edge victory in the country’s general election. As the first votes came in on Thursday night, her centre-left coalition, which was the strong favourite to win, at one point fell behind the government, but pulled ahead by the end of the night to win 89 of the country’s seats next to the 86 seats won by the coalition led by Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen. Addressing victorious Social Democratic Party members last night, Ms Thorning-Schmidt, 44, said: “Today is the day things change in...

On the front page of today’s edition of [Danish newspaper] Ekstra-Bladet you can see the headline ‘Here, sharia law applies’, and a map of the areas of the country where the imams and so-called cultural societies have established an alternative judicial system based on sharia law. One of these areas is Gellerupparken, where I used to live and participate in what I thought was an effort to integrate immigrants into society. A feature article in the newspaper says that according to experts, these areas will, in the course of 10-15 years, be anti-democratic. I’ll stipulate that depending on what you...

To anyone sane of mind, it's pretty obvious that something, basically, is wrong about the way large parts of European and American economy is run today. Scandinavia is an exception - and a bigger one than most people are aware of. Our German neighbors are beginning to realize this and lately Chancellor Merkel have been very successful in restoring economic growth on German soil. Presently, the German economy, after 20 years of a sad standstill, is growing at a pace nearing that of Sweden. Scandinavia (including Finland) taken as a whole is today the World's 10th largest economy despite it's...

Often the Left is so predictable. While Norway mourns the deaths of the 92 (so far) shooting victims, kook bloggers at FireDogLake, Democratic Underground, and elsewhere are already labelling the alleged killer to be "right wing." This meme appears to have started with a comment made by a Norwegian political science professor who speculated that the shooter might be "right wing." Even Sarah Palin is now being blamed for the shooting because the suspect reportedly favored the creation of a European Tea Party. The media keeps repeating the mantra that the shooter is "right wing." But what does it even...

COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Denmark on Friday approved a decision to re-establish permanent customs checkpoints at its borders, removing the last hurdle to a plan aimed at stopping crime and illegal immigration but which has been strongly criticized in Europe as violating visa-free travel rules. The 17-member parliamentary Finance Committee announced the approval after lawmakers voted to reject an opposition motion to abandon it. Germany and the European Union say border checkpoints violate EU rules on unrestricted travel in the Schengen zone and regulations on free movement within the bloc. The jury reached its split verdict after two days of deliberations, finding Tahawwur Rana guilty of providing material support to terrorism in Denmark and to the Pakistani militant group that had claimed responsibility for the three-day siege in India's largest city that left more than 160 people dead, including six Americans.

I'm Swedish and I admit my nation has made a lot of mistakes throughout the centuries. But, in resemblence to the other Nordic nations (Scandinavia + Finland), we know how to run an economy. From people who live in other parts of the World pretending to understand macro economics I often hear remarks like "Norway is rich because of oil" and "Sweden is a small country with a homogenous population that therefore is easily governed". A nation like Libya too houses a homogenous population and has even more oil and gas reserves than Norway, but can't exactly compete with Scandinavia...

The politically correct left think rock-throwing Muslims are no big deal and shouldn’t be called racist because the victims are white. Ain’t multi-culturalism grand?

An organized effort is underway worldwide orchestrated by a powerful Islamic political body to criminalize speech that "offends" Muslims. As much as that may sound like some fantastic conspiracy theory, these Muslim leaders broadcast their group's every move on their website—yet America's ruling elites refuse to listen. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is the second largest inter-governmental organization after the United Nations representing 57 member states which seek to criminalize speech that violates the archaic tenets of Sharia law. The OIC is comprised of the kings and heads of state of all Islamic countries numbering its membership at...

(Translation from Swedish) "The Danish government wants to demolish parts of the country's ghettos. Areas with high immigrant density and high levels of crime and social problems are in focus. In today's opening speech in the National assembly, Prime Minister Lars Rasmussen Løkke described the situation in these problem- areas as "untenable". Increased police presence and the demolition of particularly crime stricken neighborhoods is the solution offered by Rasmussen. The Prime Minister has identified 29 districts across Denmark requiring "special measures".

Believe it or not, Scandinavia actually loves America. The Nordic countries and the rest Europe is not an enemy of America. But the media World wishes us to think so. A majority of Scandinavians hate Socialism. Didn't you know? Around one million Swedes emmigrated to America. The ones still left here wish for a shift from silly Social Democracy to a Conservative order of society and a real, continued alteration to a capitalist reorganization of our Nordic society. Why is Scandinavia rich unlike France and Italy? Perhaps this has something to do with a welcoming attitute towards Capitalism and a...
  • Danish Motoon book without reprints of individual Motoons isn't good enough for the OIC

"Danish Motoon book without reprints of individual Motoons isn't good enough for the OIC" SNIPPET: "Of course it isn't, because the OIC is not after partial submission to its demands that free speech become subject to Sharia. So, a book about the cartoons that doesn't condemn them as the worst crime against humanity in the past 100 years, and that even reproduces a reduced-size version of the front page of Jyllands-Posten from the day the 'toons were printed, still leaves a lot to be suppressed as far as the OIC is concerned. And do remember that the OIC wants the...

The OIC Secretary General expressed his dismay and disappointment at the release of the book despite the fact that he and some...

According to numerous media sources and several highly esteemed philantropic organizations all over the World, Europe, Canada, NYC, LA, certain corners of South East Asia and Australia boast the best surroundings for eco-friendly prosperity and success found on this planet. Especially Europe does. If we are to trust the experts in this field, conditions for successful human life are better in Scandinavia and Central Europe than anywhere else on Earth. Being Scandinavian, I won't deny I enjoy reading about how foreigners praise my corner of the World and talk of our our nations as an enviable place in which to...

Societies are disintegrating as adherents of a radical, intolerant ideology run amok with no respect for Western rule of law. There is only one law -- the sharia. Europe is a looking glass into the future. Via Denmark’s burning | Presseurop – English, hat tip TROP. Via Creeping “Danish ghettos ravaged by fire,” alerts the Jyllands-Posten. Every week in troubled Danish neighbourhoods, four fires on average burn down kindergartens, trash containers, cars and motor scooters, reports the Danish daily, based on fire department reports in the country’s three biggest cities.
