We as conservatives believe in freedom, liberty, and all the good stuff that the constitution guarantees us as American citizens. As we look at this election field, we catch only a glimpse of just who is attempting to run for president of the United States, our options being Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum. But have you actually looked at everyone trying to run for the coveted oval office? I didn’t, and usually don’t, until yesterday. Austin, another blogger here at BoP, posted a link to the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s website on Twitter last night. Not expecting...

Watching our system deal with the debt ceiling crisis — a wholly self-inflicted crisis, which may nonetheless have disastrous consequences — it’s increasingly obvious that what we’re looking at is the destructive influence of a cult that has really poisoned our political system. And no, I don’t mean the fanaticism of the right. Well, OK, that too. But my feeling about those people is that they are what they are; you might as well denounce wolves for being carnivores. Crazy is what they do and what they are. No, the cult that I see as reflecting a true moral failure...

Lott Lawyer: State Farm Destroying Papers Monday April 10, 2006 11:31 PM By MICHAEL KUNZELMAN Associated Press Writer BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - A lawyer for U.S. Sen. Trent Lott said Monday that State Farm Insurance Co. is destroying documents that could show the insurer has fraudulently denied thousands of claims by Lott and other policyholders whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Zach Scruggs, one of Lott's attorneys, says his client has a ``good faith belief'' that several State Farm employees in Biloxi are destroying engineering reports that gave conflicting conclusions about whether wind or water was responsible for storm...

Not A Good Thing Ibd Wed Nov 2, 7:00 PM ET Politics: If stealing and destroying secret documents, stuffing them into your pants and then lying about it isn't a crime worthy of jail time, why is having a different recollection of events than Tim Russert? If the charges swirling around Scooter Libby -- that he deceived those investigating a crime for which he was not charged -- seem familiar, they should. Not long ago Martha Stewart was indicted and convicted, not of insider trading in a suspiciously timed stock sale, but of deceiving investigators into a crime for which...

My dad was a Federal Parole and Probation officer in El Paso, Texas, 30 years ago. Because he dealt with Federal cases, it was his responsibility to handle illegal immigrants. I was only about 8 years old when I overheard him saying that 10,000 Mexicans a day crossed the border between America and Mexico. Of course, they didn’t all stay…much of it was just daily traffic back and forth. But many of them did stay, and I knew why. We would often go into Juarez for fun—gorgeous pottery, inexpensive trinkets, another world to peruse and study. I grew to despise...

9 French troops and a U.S. citizen were killed when Ivory Coast fighter planes bombed a rebel position in the north of that country. The French have hit back, destroying 5 Ivorian helicopters and 2 bombers near the capital city of Yamoussoukro. Ivorians aren’t happy with France’s reprisals. Angry mobs are rioting, looting French properties, and yelling “Everybody get your Frenchman!” and “French go home!” Well, well, well, isn’t France’s criticism of the U.S. Coalition presence in Iraq a bit like the pot calling the kettle black? Listen to the French government’s words, as reported by the BBC: President Jacques...

Clinton Takes Credit for Destroying Saddam's WMDs! January 30, 2004 When I heard the audio sound bites of Bill Clinton after his meeting with congressional Democrats, I asked, "Why didn't I lead off the show with this?" When asked if he believed Saddam had WMDs, he replied, "[T]he United States and Britain bombed for four days in the places where we thought the remaining chemical and biological stocks were. Because there were no inspectors there, obviously we don't know if we got a hundred percent of what we thought was there, 50% or 10%." This is Bill Clinton saying he...

They separated in 1998 and were divorced in 1999. Andrea Holcombe said in...
