Rose Marie, the wisecracking Sally Rogers of The Dick Van Dyke Show and a show business lifer who began as a bobbed-hair child star in vaudeville and worked for nearly a century in theater, radio, TV and movies, died Thursday. She was 94. Marie had been resting in bed at her Los Angeles-area home when a caretaker found she had stopped breathing, said family spokesman Harlan Boll.

Dick Van Dyke has apologised for the “most atrocious cockney accent in the history of cinema” more than half a century after his role in the 1964 Disney classic Mary Poppins. The US actor played chimney-sweep Bert in the film, and has been the subject of much teasing from fans about his famously off-radar accent. Van Dyke, 91, was chosen this week by Bafta to receive the Britannia award for excellence in television. Speaking afterwards, he said: “I appreciate this opportunity to apologise to the members of Bafta for inflicting on them the most atrocious cockney accent in the history...

CAREFREE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Firefighters say flames swept through an abandoned studio for fashion shoots early Sunday morning in the town of Carefree. A passerby called sheriff's deputies at about 3:30 a.m., Sunday after spotting the flames shooting out of the empty building near Pima and Cave Creek Road in Carefree. We're told the building was known as Woburn Studios, an old retail fashion studio where shoots were held. When deputies arrived, the building was engulfed in flames. Rural-Metro firefighters also responded to the scene and they have been working to put out the flames. ļ‡  ļ€¨ Crews from Scottsdale...

Gov. Scott Walker still hasn't spoken with President Barack Obama about the president's love for America, but the possible contender for the Republican nomination now has an opinion on the subject. Wisconsin's governor tells "Fox News Sunday" that Obama or "anybody else who is willing to put their name on the ballot certainly has to have the love for country to do that." ...

TMZ is reporting that 87-year-old actor Dick Van Dyke was pulled from his jaguar on the side of a Los Angeles freeway after it burst into flames. Jason Pennington, the man who saved Van Dyke, told TMZ that he was driving on the 101 freeway when he saw the flaming car on the side of the road with an elderly man hunched over at the wheel. Saint Valentine's Day being later this week motivates the appropriately titled pick for today's feature. TAOL is a dark farce about a struggling artist(Dick Van Dyke) who fakes his own death to increase interest in and sales of his own paintings. James Garner is his buddy/manager and partner in this scheme which, of course, snowballs into all kinds of trouble and comic events. Lovely actresses Angie Dickinson and Elke Sommer in their prime play the women in their lives. A fun movie that I discovered as a child on a Sunday afternoon being played by a local channel but oddly...

( ( ( RADAR ALERT Curtis: A Wife Can Break Husband’s Arm if he Forgets their Anniversary Contact Ray Billingsley (the comic strip artist) and King Features Syndicate (which distributes the comic strip) and tell them the following: 1. The Curtis comic strip which ran on January 18, 2005 represents mean-spirited and highly inappropriate humor. 2. The comic strip reinforces a societal double-standard which warns, “There is no excuse for domestic violence” when the victim is female; but then says, “But it’s perfectly fine for a wife to injure and maim her husband.” 3. Mr. Billingsley’s comic strip is extremely...
