Ramstad is considering a run for governor (MN RINO)

Former Republican Rep. Jim Ramstad said Friday that he has attended brainstorming sessions about a possible run for Minnesota governor, although he's not ready to jump into the wide-open race. Ramstad, a prolific fundraiser with a moderate reputation, won't give a timetable for making a decision and indicated an announcement either way wouldn't come soon. "It's way too early. People need a rest. People need a breather," he said in comments to reporters after addressing a League of Minnesota Cities conference in St. Paul.

You Should Not Be Able To Arrest A Woman For Breast-Feeding While Drunk

Can someone … anyone … explain how it is possible for a woman who is breast-feeding while intoxicated to be arrested while a pregnant woman who drinks goes free? I am fed up with society’s hypocrisy when it comes to children, babies, or fetuses. There is no logical argument for there being a difference between a 7, 8, 9 month pregnant woman drinking, and a woman breast-feeding while drunk. This constant struggle to simply try and figure out what is/is not a baby and what is/is not abuse and neglect will have to come to a head sooner or later.

The following video is real. The animals are eating the fermented fruit of the Marula tree. The Marula (Sclerocarya birrea) is a medium-sized dioecious tree, indigenous to the miombo woodlands of Southern Africa and the Sudano-Sahelian range of West Africa. The tree is a single stemmed tree with a wide spreading crown. It is characterised by a grey mottled bark. The tree grows up to 18m tall mostly in low altitudes and open woodlands. The fruits are used in the liqueur Amarula. The distribution of this species throughout Africa has followed the Bantu in their migrations, as it has been...

Pink elephant is caught on camera

A pink baby elephant has been caught on camera in Botswana. A wildlife cameraman took pictures of the calf when he spotted it among a herd of about 80 elephants in the Okavango Delta. Experts believe it is probably an albino, which is an extremely rare phenomenon in African elephants. They are unsure of its chances of long-term survival - the blazing African sunlight may cause blindness and skin problems for the calf. Mike Holding, who spotted the baby while filming for a BBC wildlife programme, said: "We only saw it for a couple of minutes as the herd crossed...

The federal government’s abdication of border control has yet again become plain. Yet again, another drunken illegal immigrant is on trial for killing an American citizen. And yet again, we learn that he had been deported repeatedly. This case of vehicular homicide involves one Eulalio Haro, a 36-year-old illegal resident of Woodstock, Ill. Haro, authorities allege, was stinking drunk when he killed 71-year-old motorcyclist Dean Knospe. Authorities believe Haro’s blood alcohol registered at least 0.27 at the time of his arrest. Unhappily, nothing is unusual about this case.
New Year's hangover? Take two eels and call me in the morning

The French call it "la gueule de bois," or wooden mouth. For Germans, it's "Kater," or a tomcat. Japanese know it as "futsukayoi," or "two-days drunk." But whatever the language and wherever it takes place, a hangover is the same: headache, nausea, shaking, blurred vision, biliousness, dry mouth... the list of evils is long. In Roman times, Pliny the Elder swore by raw owls' eggs. In Elizabethan England, a pair of eels suffocated in wine was touted as the trick. Green frogs were an acceptable substitute for those who were out of eels. In the 19th century, hungover chimney sweeps...
