BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Iraq switches to daylight-saving time at midnight Thursday, moving clocks forward one hour. That will put Iraq nine hours ahead of New York and 12 hours ahead of Los Angeles -- but only until Sunday morning, when the United States switches to daylight-saving time. After that, Iraq will again be eight hours ahead of the eastern United States. Other Persian Gulf countries where coalition troops are based for the war on Iraq, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar, do not change the time for summer.
