First, Californians who had approved of President Barack Obama's job performance began to reserve judgment; now, they're moving into full-blown disapproval, especially among longtime allies such as Latinos and women, a new Field Poll shows.

Forty-three percent of California voters don't like Obama's job performance, up from 35 percent in July, the poll found. Despite the dramatic increase in unhappy faces, the president's approval rating changed little according to the survey begun in mid-November: 51 percent, down from 52 percent in July.

Rather than using dumpsters as a home for gardens or pools, designer/builder/artist Gregory Kloehn has decided to repurpose one into... an actual home. HGTV profiled him for an episode of "You Live In What?", in which Kloehn show off his forest green and red micro (trash) dwelling, which took six months to kit out. It's got a toilet, stove, and sink, as well as a sloped roof that can be levered up to reveal windows and doubles as a deck for seating. There's also a grill that, when in use, protrudes off of the side of what is essentially a...

You never know what you'll find next to a Dumpster. That's where Chris Gulley of Rock Island spotted two authentic Cherner chairs, designed in 1958 by Norman Cherner and manufactured by the former Plycraft Inc. of Lawrence, Mass. Gulley didn't know that immediately, though, on that day about 11 years ago when he was driving down Harrison Street in Davenport. All he knew is that the two chairs he saw sitting next to a Dumpster in an alley were very unusual-looking and that he wanted them. "I knew instantly they were special, and I about killed us both turning the...

KVUE reported that on Tuesday, police found “assorted parts from assault rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition” in a dumpster in north Austin. However, the Statesman reported that police found “eight upper receivers for an AR-15 rifle” and “about 2,000 rifle rounds.” KXAN reported that while “AR-15 receivers” were found, there were no parts with serial numbers. The straight scoop Mark Wilson, Acting Resident Agent in charge of the Austin branch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said they found 8 upper receivers with barrels for AR-15 semi-automatic rifles. When an AR-15 is fired by...

We should not be fighting the Islamicists but joining forces with them. As a conservative who does not drink or smoke, believes the body is the Lord's temple, and that women should be submissive to their husbands, I find the Islamic message to be a breath of fresh air. We need to welcome the Islamicist lifestyle to turn America away from the debauchery of today and return us to the puritanical society we are meant to have.

Sometimes when its late at night, I like to look back on election night. I love to go over to DU and relive the pain and sorrow they went through. Call me crazy, but I love to watch the pain they go through during those hours. It just so happens that DU's archives are still open. All the way back ti Nov 2nd. Watch as they feel they are going to win the election (early exit polls), all the way to total melt down - when they know it’s lost. Its such a good feeling. I think everyone on this...

s the horror of the South Asian tsunami spread and people gathered online to discuss the disaster on sites known as Web logs, or blogs, those of a political bent naturally turned the discussion to their favorite topics. To some in the blogosphere, it simply had to be the government's fault. On Democratic Underground, a blog for open discussion and an online gathering place for people who hate the Bush administration, a participant asked, "Since we know that the atmosphere has become contaminated by all the atomic testing, space stuff, electronic stuff, earth pollutants, etc., is it logical to wonder...

So you think you accomplished something by stealing another election and putting that dummy goon "Ahhnuld" in as Governor. Well he's an idiot just like that other installed resident George (imbecile) W. Bush. The reason California's economy is so bad is the fault of the white house resident and his moronic economic policies. Also, his Enron buddies screwed California with the energy contracts. So after Ahhnie screws California royally and the nation sees what corrupt fools W and the repuggies are, the Democrats will take control of the nation again for 40 years. Hasta La Vista baybee

A worker at a Far-Eastside coin-operated laundry peered inside a trash bin Saturday, hoping to spot a few empty pop cans. Instead, the woman found the body of a newborn boy. The infant had been wrapped in a sheet and several plastic shopping bags before being placed in a trash bag and then abandoned in the receptacle behind Laundry & Tanning Connection, 2128 N. Mitthoefer Road. The umbilical cord was still attached to the infant's navel, indicating the child may have been born as a result of an unwanted pregnancy. Marion County sheriff's homicide detectives have yet to determine ...

Seven months ago, in my very first column for WorldNetDaily, I told you why liberals find it so difficult to succeed at talk radio. I reviewed that column recently and saw that I failed to introduce you to a group of people called Democratic Talk Radio. Democratic Talk Radio consists of two stalwart Democrats, Stephen Crockett and Al Lawrence, who have launched a syndicated Democratic talk-radio show and who use their website to cajole followers to lobby radio stations on their behalf. Their website really is worth a visit. Log onto one of their message boards and make a comment...
