EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- The Memorial Day Weekend has been filled with violence in East St. Louis. A man was shot and killed at a barbecue on Saturday. Another man was shot and killed early Sunday morning walking between bars. And about an hour later, 3 people were shot at a market. All the violence follows the “Stop the Violence” rally in East St. Louis on Friday featuring the parents of Trayvon Martin. News 4 asked Mayor Alvin Parks if the recent violence has been disheartening. “It's not disheartening, but what you have is frustration,” said Parks. “Because...

A federal jury has awarded a Fairview Heights woman $95 million for the sexual harassment she endured working at Aaron Rents, a Fairview Heights rent-to-own business. The woman's suit claims that an October 12, 2006, sexual assault by her supervisor capped almost a year of escalating sexual harassment. The store's general manager, Richard Moore, began by making inappropriate comments and pinching the 20-year-old customer service representative, the suit says. He progressed to groping her, then sneaked up behind her and hit her on the head with his penis sometime during the fall of 2006, the suit says. On Oct. 12,...

Vote fraud is a serious issue, which the Democratic Party and the mainstream media has had success in linking it to the Republicans, going back to the 2000 Florida recount debacle and the historical fiction of Ohio and Diebold in 2004. That same year, irregularities in Wisconsin, which allows same-day voter registration, arguably allowed the Democrats to steal Wisconsin and its 11 electoral votes. For instance, in addition to felons voting illegally in America's Dairyland, people voting twice, the number of votes counted in Milwaukee County, the state's most populous, exceeded the number of people who actually exercised their franchise....

With Friends Like These: CAIR Reaches Out for a Setup M. Zuhdi Jasser December 7, 2007 It has been a while since I have paid much attention to the antics of local leading Islamists here in Phoenix. But last month’s fundraiser on November 3rd for the local chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations-Arizona demonstrated the deep-seated pathology and duplicity of this so-called “leading American Muslim civil rights organization.” It appears that staging opportunities to embarrass the American justice system and its leadership is also turning into the modus operandi for this self-described “representative of Arizona Muslims.” Their recent...

We are reading Jonathan Kozol's "Savage Inequalities" in my sociology class. I’m smart enough to know the book isn’t objective. And so far, I’ve sought out independent information about him, including that he is big government, but against national testing. And that he is against vouchers. And that he thinks the solution to the problem is more $$$ in the schools. And from reading the book it’s so so clear that he is a race monger. I understand why there is very little work and money in terms of economics but is there anything else? I’m hesitant to blame the...
