Mother of All flip flops. Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden issued a statement late Tuesday attempting to clarify his comments that an ad the Obama campaign ran earlier this month was “terrible.” Biden, in an interview that aired Tuesday on CBS Evening News, had criticized an ad the Obama campaign released earlier this month that highlighted McCain’s inability to use a computer, saying, “I thought that was terrible by the way” and “if I’d have had anything to do with it, we never would have done it.”

WASHINGTON — The McCain campaign is gearing up to criticize Senator Obama for his past associations with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright and a former Weather Underground operative, William Ayers, in the home stretch of the presidential race. Senator McCain appears with Governor Palin of Alaska in Media, Penn. yesterday. The McCain campaign, according to one aide, decided it would play the Wright and Ayers cards after Mr. Obama's campaign ran ads linking Senator McCain to a talk radio host, Rush Limbaugh. "Our position is we are no longer going to feel constrained to avoid his very real associations in contrast...

The National Rifle Association has released four ads against Barack Obama and Joe Biden. "Way of Life" features a Michigan voter reminding viewers about Obama's "bitter" comments that he made in San Francisco. "Veteran" has an Iraq veteran talking about his freedoms. "Hunter" features a Virginia voter talking about Obama's record on ammunition taxes and shotguns. "Pennsylvania Values" tells voters about Joe Biden's record on gun issues.

October is almost here. Summer is over, the leaves have begun to change and as it is every four years America is in the final throws of a presidential election. In the past one side or the other has came up with "October Surprises", a term usually intended to mean that one campaign has found some type of "Nuclear" option against the other. The news media is on fire today discussing the soon to be played McCain/Palin ad's that detail Obama's associations to fanatical fringes of society. Is this the "October Surprise" or should we pay attention to what is...

I'm down in the Florida Keys, TV stations here are out of Miami. I rarely watch the network stations, but last night, I was watching Jeopardy on ABC with my wife. 7:30pm. In 30 minutes, every ad was an Obama ad, and I'd guess that was 8 of them at least. 90% of them were the same ad where Obama hits McCain on alternative energy. Just curious if the rest of Fl is like this or just in the southern part of the state. Thanks

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama's running mate says a campaign ad that mocked Republican presidential candidate John McCain as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate was "terrible" and would not have been done had he known about it. Obama, McCain's Democratic rival, launched the ad earlier this month, part of an aggressive push to slow McCain's rise in the polls after he chose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate. It included unflattering footage of Sen. McCain at a hearing in the early '80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a...

A pro-life Catholic group called Catholics United will begin running a cable television ad in Catholic sections of Cleveland, Youngstown and Dayton on Friday that criticizes Sen. John McCain's support for the Iraq war and his August 2007 vote against a bill to provide health care for uninsured children. "Senator McCain, when will you start defending all human life, without exception?" asks the woman in the ad, who identifies herself as a pro-life mother of three children. The Cleveland-area ads will run for a week on the CNN, Fox News, Headline News, Home & Garden and AMC networks. The ads...

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Democratic vice presidential hopeful Joseph Biden said in an interview aired Monday that a campaign ad which mocked Republican John McCain's inability to use a computer was "terrible." The veteran Delaware senator, who adds foreign policy heft to the ticket of Democratic nominee Barack Obama, was asked about the controversial political commercial in a CBS news interview. "I thought that was terrible by the way," said Biden, when asked about a campaign ad which made fun of McCain's admitted lack of ease with computers. "I didn't know we did it, and if I'd had anything to do...

Former Gov. Michael Dukakis said Monday that John McCain's presidential campaign is using the same race-based tactics that were used against him in his 1988 presidential run. The Brookline Democrat was referring to a recent McCain ad that claimed Democratic nominee Barack Obama received economic advice from Franklin Raines, the former CEO of the recently bailed out mortgage lender Fannie Mae. The ad features images of Raines and Obama, two African Americans, and then an image of an elderly white woman.

Skip ahead to 4:05. For the second time in three days, Greasy Joe proves himself one of America’s most effective anti-Obama advocates. I hope you appreciate his nuance, at least, in hinting that Obama didn’t approve an ad that ended with “I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.” Exit question: Who’s surprised that Couric didn’t challenge him when he claimed that Obama never okayed sex education for kindergarteners?

Joe Biden offered perhaps his most off-message statement yet since being tapped as Barack Obama's running mate, saying in an interview that he thought one of his campaign's own ads was "terrible" and hadn't know about it in advance. Asked by CBS's Katie Couric about an ad Obama released earlier this month mocking John McCain for not being able to use a computer, Biden criticized the commercial and suggested it had been aired without his knowledge. "I thought that was terrible by the way," Biden said of the computer ad in an interview broadcast tonight on the CBS Evening News...

I know, I can't believe it either: Karl Rove, the legendary Republican strategist whose name has become synonymous with hard-ball campaign tactics, has asserted that both presidential campaigns have wandered too far from truth. "McCain has gone in his ads ... one step too far," Rove said on Fox News Sept. 14. "Sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent-truth test." In recent weeks the McCain campaign has accused Barack Obama of advocating sex education in kindergarten. (In reality, Obama voted for a bill that called for warning young children about sexual predators.) The McCain...
