  • Soros Election-Rigging Project Dies?

Whatever happened to the left-wing Secretary of State Project liberals promised would save our elections from the dirty tricks of those dang lowdown, yellow-bellied, lily-livered Republicans? The evidence now suggests that the election-stealing, George Soros-funded so-called "527" political committee is dead, or perhaps just deeply sedated. This group that section 527 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code allows to accept unlimited financial contributions was created solely to rig elections for Democrats. It accomplishes this by electing permissive liberal Democrats as secretaries of state. In most states the secretary of state is the chief elections officer, so putting left-wingers in the...

I hope.First: [sucker] - I've been getting a ton of questions about the George Clooney contest -- what are the odds? Will you pick my mom? Can staff win? (For the last time, the answer's no.) Honestly, I really don't care who wins unless you're talking about Election Day. But if you're counting the hours to when the winners are picked, I won't judge -- and congrats if you're one of them. Former “CBS Evening News” anchor Dan Rather says presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney has a 50 percent chance of beating President Barack Obama in November. “I have no idea what kind of president [former Massachusetts] Gov. Romney will make, but I do think … he has a good chance of becoming president,” Rather told Politico. “President Obama is even money at best at this particular time … His odds right now are 50/50 in my book.” Obama performs much better campaigning than as president, said Rather, who is promoting a new book, “Rather Outspoken: My Life In the News.”...

Mitt Romney and the Republican Party's sizable bloc of evangelical voters are about to engage in a marriage of political convenience. The presumptive GOP presidential nominee's march to the nomination proceeded largely without strong backing from the conservative Christian community. But with Romney now the only hope that conservatives have to beat President Barack Obama in November, a partnership has begun to jell. Gary Rose, the chairman of the politics and government department at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., agreed. "Santorum was their guy, but more important is their agenda of dislodging Obama," he said. "I don't believe they'll...

The most politically brazen feature of Obamacare has always been its looting of Medicare. About half of Obamacare's costs are to be covered with money taken from an already nearly bankrupt program for seniors. Anticipating a senior revolt, the administration took action. It ran millions of dollars' worth of taxpayer-funded TV ads .... But the administration didn't stop there. Instead, it launched an $8.35 billion "demonstration project" to postpone the vast majority of Obamacare's Medicare Advantage cuts until after what Obama likes to call his "last election." In truth, this isn't really a demonstration project at all. It's something closer...

    1. Conservatives care most about the size of government. 2. Conservatives want to deport all illegal immigrants. 3. They worship Wall Street 4. Conservatives want to slash Social Security and Medicare. 5. Conservatives don't care about inequality. So, if everyone is concerned about the income gap, what's the big difference between left and right? It's the difference between opportunity and outcome. Conservatives want to increase opportunity, giving everyone the freedom and tools to prosper, so that the poor may someday become rich. Liberals want to redistribute income, making the rich - quite simply - less rich.

Many supporters of Israel are bedeviled by a glaring contradiction in Israeli political life. How can it be that, regardless of which party wins an election, leftist policies are invariably implemented? Since 1977 Likud has won several elections based on a platform of a Greater Israel. Nevertheless, it was under Likud Prime Minister Menachem Begin that the entire Sinai was relinquished. There are many other substantive examples of leftist policies routinely supplanting right-wing electoral successes, but two in particular stand out: 1. Presidential election history gives us indications that Mr. Obama either squeaks back into the White House or gets an undignified boot in the back of his designer trousers. In modern presidential elections, only Jerry Ford lost his re-election bid narrowly. Odds are, if Mr. Obama loses, it will probably be on the order of Hoover (1932) or Carter (1980). It was inevitable. Mitt Romney is going to sell-out conservatives in his party in order to win the general. And if he wins, he'll sell them out again in order to be re-elected.* Zeke Miller and McKay Coppins reporting for Buzzfeed have found the first issue on which Romney is trying to put some distance between himself and the conservative wing of his party. Allahpundit, one of the most perceptive conservative bloggers, also detects the hint of conflict between the GOP candidate and the GOP Congress. Mitt Romney told reporters today that he supports efforts to extend low interest rates...

Mexico's presidential front-runner Enrique Pena Nieto has extended his big lead in the run-up to the July 1 election following a sharp drop in support for the ruling party candidate, an opinion poll showed on Monday. The voter survey by polling firm Buendia & Laredo for newspaper El Universal showed backing for Pena Nieto, candidate of the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), at 41.6 percent, down from 42.5 percent in a poll published on March 26. However, due to a decline in the fortunes of Josefina Vazquez Mota, candidate of President Felipe Calderon's conservative National Action Party (PAN), Pena Nieto...

Sooner or later, a black Republican woman was bound to run for Congress. It’s just that nobody expected her to hail from Utah. Mia Love won the GOP nomination for the 4th Congressional District race Saturday at the Utah Republican Convention, scoring a major upset after wowing the crowd with a roof-raising speech at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy. The daughter of Haitian immigrants, Mrs. Love took 70.4 percent of the delegate vote, well in excess of the 60 percent required to avoid a primary runoff under Utah’s unique rules. She defeated former state legislator Carl Wimmer, who...
  • What is Romney's plan? Rubio's Quasi-Dream Act, a Daniel D. Portado (Self-Deportation) plan, ...?

I can't keep up with what Romney is supposedly going to go with concerning illegals. First it was the ridiculous idea from Romney that illegals will self-deport. Remember Daniel D. Portado? Then there was the buzz that some kind of Kobach plan would emerge. Now there is supposedly going to be some type of Rubio Quasi-Dream Act. Who knows what Romney is going to go with. I guess more poll testing, and/or focus group work from the Romney campaign is needed before a plan emerges.

Romney is running neck-and-neck with Obama in national opinion polls but needs to make up ground in several battleground states where the election is likely to be decided. The former Massachusetts governor appeared side-by-side with Rubio at a news conference where Romney did most of the talking. They then held a town hall event and took turns answering questions from supporters. Romney brushed off two questions from reporters whether Rubio was on his list for potential vice presidential picks, a process that will play out over the next four months ahead of the Republicans' August convention in Florida to nominate...
  • Now why would this be? Reuters bleats that new state laws against voter fraud will hurt Obama

Reuters is worried that new tough anti voter fraud laws will hurt Barack Obama’s chances of reelection next November. Complaining that such laws “could” reduce Obama’s supporters by “hundreds of thousands” the media outlet apparently sees no irony in its own position. Reuters doesn’t feel at all self-conscious about the implication that only fraudulent applicants have to be concerned about these new laws and honest people would not be disadvantaged in the least. “Republican” led Legislatures Further exposing its support for voter fraud the media giant cites “Republican-led legislatures” in 12 states as the culprits who are sharply restricting fraudulent...

    — One Saturday last fall, President Obama interrupted a White House strategy meeting to raise an issue not on the agenda. He declared, aides recalled, that the administration needed to more aggressively use executive power to govern in the face of Congressional obstructionism. -snip- But increasingly in recent months, the administration has been seeking ways to act without Congress. Branding its unilateral efforts “We Can’t Wait,” a slogan that aides said Mr. Obama coined at that strategy meeting, the White House has rolled out dozens of new policies — on creating jobs for veterans, preventing drug shortages, raising fuel economy...

“Mr. Obama has held more than a hundred joint fund-raisers since last spring, far more than President George W. Bush during his 2004 re-election, and has tucked fund-raising stops into many of his official presidential trips.” Heh. Try saying that three times with a straight face: “Mr. Obama has held more than a hundred joint fund-raisers” Even with this promise of additional fundraiser looty, it looks like it’s still “hard out here for a pimp” Plouffee is still having a hard time luring in the really big sugar daddies. Boy, this economy sucks doesn’t it? Oh well, I guess we’ll...
