I'm guessing they were Mexican nationals because it was the Border Patrol that nabbed them, but I guess it's within the realm of possibilities that they were Americans making a run for the border. The ballot box was stolen from a precinct in Coachella. Coachella is heavily Republican, that's Bono country. Some Democratic true believers messing with the election? Maybe some illegals who weren't happy with Romney's opposition to McCain amnesty. Very odd. Customs & Border Patrol February 06, 2008 press release: Indio, Calif. – Last night Border Patrol agents detained four individuals in Mecca, Calif. suspected of being involved...

A civil servant who leaked a secret memo about George W. Bush wanted it to be seen by US presidential candidate John Kerry, the Old Bailey heard. David Keogh, 50, from Northampton, is said to have passed a highly sensitive document detailing talks between Mr. Bush and Tony Blair to Leo O'Connor. Mr. Keogh told jurors the contents of the memo had preyed on his mind. Mr. Keogh and Mr. O'Connor, 44, also of Northampton, deny three charges under the Official Secrets Act. Mr. Keogh had been asked to copy out the memo for distribution to high-ranking UK officials. The...

National Enquirer columnist Mike Walker has written a devastating expose of the real Dan Rather, showing conclusively that the self-proclaimed emperor of TV news is really stark naked. In an exclusive interview Walker told NewsMax.com why he took the time to probe Dan Rather and the story behind Rathergate in his best-selling new book, "Rather Dumb: A Top Tabloid Reporter Tells CBS How to Do News." NewsMax: Mike, what made you, a celebrity columnist, write "Rather Dumb"? Walker: I never even thought about Dan Rather – he's just this wacko, weirdo guy who looked stupid when he went to Afghanistan...

Fired CBS Rathergate producer Mary Mapes is planning a tell-all book that could blow the lid off the scandal that ended Dan Rather's tenure as "CBS Evening News" anchorman and destroyed the credibility of the once-golden "Tiffany" network. Mapes, who obtained documents on President Bush's National Guard record that turned out to be forged, "is preparing to shop a book proposal offering an inside account of what happened at CBS News during the memo scandal," reports the New York Observer. "The book will constitute Ms. Mapes’ defense against charges of journalistic misconduct," the paper says. Mapes' literary agent explained that...

The hired hands CBS picked to investigate its “60 Minutes” debacle may deny it till the cows come home. But liberal bias ruined the career of Dan Rather—and CBS News. The CBS of Walter Cronkite’s salad days is gone. And the beginning of the fall of network news can be traced to that era, right down to the day and month. After his address to the nation on Nov. 3, 1969 that called on the “silent majority” to stand by him for peace with honor in Vietnam was savaged by network anchors and commentators, an infuriated Richard Nixon ordered his...

THE LYNCHING OF DAN RATHER On British TV, Dan feared the price of "asking questions" Monday, September 20, 2004 E-Mail Article Printer Friendly Version By Greg Palast "It's that fear that keeps journalists from asking the toughest of the tough questions," the aging American journalist told the British television audience. In June 2002, Dan Rather looked old, defeated, making a confession he dare not speak on American TV about the deadly censorship -- and self-censorship -- which had seized US newsrooms. After September 11, news on the US tube was bound and gagged. Any reporter who stepped out of line,...

Freepers who helped to defeat the democrat election fraud in 2000 will want to obtain this new book by John Fund ASAP, in order to be ready for their tricks in November 2004. I heard Fund on a radio talk show last week, briefly. He went into the scoop discovered on Free Republic in 2000, namely, how 15,000 Bush ballots were "spiked" in Palm Beach County. This was first discovered through statistical analysis by freeper Robert E. Cook, PE. If you are not familiar with this method of vote fraud, here is how it was done: corrupt 'rat precincts held...

How would I file a comment with the FCC for consideration when my local CBS affiliate has their FCC license renewed? The closest link I could find on the FCC site is this. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/falsebroadcast.pdf However, I don't know if it is exactly appropriate. Does the FCC deal with election tampering? Would comments about a false broadcast prior to an election be considered?

UNION-TRIBUNE EDITORIAL Corruption exposed U.S. Attorney Lam merits praise for vigilance August 25, 2004 California law flatly prohibits the use of your tax dollars to promote political candidates or ballot measures. That is as it should be. Public funds should not be funneled into election campaigns. To do so would open the door to government corruption on a massive scale. That is why U.S. Attorney Carol Lam is to be commended for ferreting out the alleged diversion of state education funds to help pay for a television ad supporting an $89 million bond measure for Southwestern College. A federal grand...

MIAMI (AFP) - A senior White House official claimed Friday Cuban President Fidel Castro may have ordered a recent boat hijacking in a successful bid to sow discord between the Cuban-American community and the US administration. "Look at the impact on the Cuban (American) community: he's got Cuban groups fighting against each other, he's got the Cuban community criticizing the administration," said Otto Reich, President George W. Bush's chief advisor on Latin America. "This was a million-dollar operation; you cannot buy that kind of discord," Reich told AFP. The administration has come under criticism from prominent Cuban-American leaders for sending...

Charges Against McKinney Settled Provided By: The Associated Press Last Modified: 6/6/2002 10:04:53 PM The State Election Board settled charges of illegal campaigning against U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney and her father on Thursday after a state attorney said that proving the case before an administrative law judge would be "very difficult." Rather than pursue the charges, the board voted 3-1 to accept an agreement offered by the pair in which, while denying they violated a law prohibiting election-day campaigning within a polling place during the 2000 election, they promised not to violate it in the future. McKinney is a Democrat,...
