Back in May 2009, Professor Glenn Reynolds, better known to his followers as Instapundit, penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal in which he discussed some odd rhetoric from President Obama. Obama had been refused an honorary doctorate by Arizona State University, and Obama remarked, “President [Michael] Crowe and the Board of Regents will soon learn all about being audited by the IRS.” Reynolds pointed out: Just a joke about the power of the presideBut as told by Mr. Obama, the actual president of the United States, it´s hard to see the humor.

Congressional inquiry into the Department of Homeland Security’s huge ammunition acquisitions spurred agency officials to try to explain what is going on. At current inventory levels, DHS has four to five times as many bullets for its officers as the US Army has for our troops. DHS training officer Humberto Medina pointed out that “the Army faces known enemies in numbers far smaller than we have to consider. I mean, Afghanistan’s population is tiny compared to that of the United States. And the Army can supplement with aerial and artillery bombardment. We don’t have that capacity at this time.” Medina...

As coverage of last week’s flare-up between Bob Woodward and the White House devolved into the granular parsing of words and implications and extrapolations and possible intent, the larger point was roundly missed: the increasing pressure that White House correspondents feel when dealing with the Obama administration — to follow their narrative, to be properly deferential (!), to react to push-back by politely sitting down and shutting up.

Remember the Alamo! Remember Pearl Harbor! Remember 911! Remember the Democrats, Obama and the behind-the-scenes subverters of justice!!! The new battle cry should be the latter. Should Obama lose this election, the American people need to wake up, turn back to God and begin to make a real effort to live upright lives. Then, we need to clean this country out. People who have come here with Godless philosophies need to leave. People in government who are lying, cheating and subverting our constitution and governing process need to be punished and expelled. The results of this election in absolutely no...

I hope not but unfortunately what I am seeing and hearing in my sliver of America explains the recent presidential polls. There has never before existed in America - a time of greater national ignorance and depravity than in 2012.... (Continued/Vlog)

Some two weeks after Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta warned of a potential “cyber-Pearl Harbor” involving a possible attack on the electric grid, Mother Nature took the cue and hit the East Coast with a storm that left millions of us for days without electricity from the grid. Some said silent thanks for that old generator they’d thought to stick in the garage. Though it wasn’t a cyberattack, but Mother Nature gave parts of the grid a good lashing anyway. On my country road south of Annapolis, two transformers were blown down from their perches on telephone poles, and...

This column has already told the story of Frank VanderSloot, an Idaho businessman who last year contributed to a group supporting Mitt Romney. An Obama campaign website in April sent a message to those who'd donate to the president's opponent. It called out Mr. VanderSloot and seven other private donors by name and occupation and slurred them as having "less-than-reputable" records. Mr. VanderSloot has since been learning what it means to be on a presidential enemies list. Just 12 days after the attack, the Idahoan found an investigator digging to unearth his divorce records. This bloodhound—a recent employee of Senate...

Richard Nixon's "enemies list" appalled the country for the simple reason that presidents hold a unique trust. Unlike senators or congressmen, presidents alone represent all Americans. Their powers—to jail, to fine, to bankrupt—are also so vast as to require restraint. Any president who targets a private citizen for his politics is de facto engaged in government intimidation and threats. This is why presidents since Nixon have carefully avoided the practice. Save Mr. Obama, who acknowledges no rules.

In 1971, America was introduced to President Richard Nixon’s “Enemies List.” The President had instructed staff to keep a list of political opponents, and as then-White House Counsel John Dean described it, they would “use the available federal machinery to screw our political enemies.” On the list were notable figures such as Paul Newman (actor), Charles Dyson (businessman), Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), NPR newsman Daniel Schorr and Morton Halperin, a foreign policy expert and father to political journalist Mark Halperin, and others. This secret list was the subject of justifiable scorn in the midst of the Watergate scandal. In 2012,...

By Jason Hines Because of situations in my own life I have been repeatedly returning to the concept of loving your enemies. I have wrestled with this issue publicly (I have preached a sermon on this subject twice) and at times in this space, but I have yet to share here my spiritual thoughts on the issue. The best place to begin is with the words of Christ. In Matthew 5:43-48 (NASB) Jesus says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray...

On the heels of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), otherwise known as the "Indefinite Detention Act," comes another draconian bill designed to give the federal government the power to turn American citizens into enemies of the state for virtually any reason it deems necessary. Stephen D. Foster, Jr. has the story. "Congress is considering HR 3166 and S. 1698 also known as the Enemy Expatriation Act, sponsored by Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Charles Dent (R-PA). This bill would give the US government the power to strip Americans of their citizenship without being convicted of being 'hostile' against the United...

A vacationing U.S. President Barack Obama accused Congress on Saturday of holding back the U.S. economic recovery by blocking "common sense" measures he said would create jobs and help growth. In remarks recorded on Wednesday on his campaign-style bus tour in Illinois and aired during his holiday in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, Obama said the stalled construction, trade and payroll tax bills could give a boost to the economy. "The only thing preventing us from passing these bills is the refusal by some in Congress to put country ahead of party. That's the problem right now. That's what's holding this country...

If you are left in an island with a piece of bread and two people all starving to death, your friend before you and your enemy behind you, who would you feed? Would you pick and choose your friend who has been so good to you or would you pick your enemy who has consistently attempted but failed in killing you? Well, anyone who would choose friend over enemy is both emotionally and spiritually immature as I'll attempt to demonstrate. I know many would chant, "Feed your friends - starve your enemies!" That is not just NONSENSE but diabolical at...

White House operative heading 'birther' smear campaign? Former Fannie Mae chief allegedly manages 100-strong attack team from Pennsylvania Ave NEW YORK – A top Democrat, apparently operating with the full approval and cooperation of the president, has been directing a team of up to 100 who are paid to publish disinformation on a wide variety of websites to discredit "birthers," according to anti-Obama researchers. The radical supporters of the president, known as Obama robots, or "OBOTs" for short, have confirmed their White House-appointed ring leader is Democratic Party operative James A. Johnson, the former chairman of Fannie Mae. Initially, the...

Brazil’s new former Marxist terrorist President and Obama friend, Dilma Rousseff, is wasting no time in cuddling up to America’s enemies. It took him 400 rounds, 17 grenades, and a machine gun tripod used as a weapon, but one British Gurkha soldier single-handedly beat back an attack by 30 Taliban fighters in Afghanistan last summer. And now he‘s getting one of his military’s highest honors: Sergeant Dipprasad Pun, a 31-year-old from Bima in western Nepa and part of the Gurkha regiment serving the British Military, is receiving the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for bravery. It’s well deserved. According to his superiors, Pun’s fearsom fighting is responsible for saving the lives of at least three other soldiers. Yesterday, he explained his unbelievable battle...

Very early, very sketch, and mostly an assumption at this point, but since we now live in a world where liberals and the MSM believe a shooter in Tuscon can somehow be motivated by a cross-hairs map he’s never seen — I’d say the New Tone Rules demand this question be asked: John Rosenthal at Pajamas Media: As reported here on Pajamas Media, Arid Uka, who shot and killed two American servicemen at Frankfurt Airport on Wednesday, has told German police that he was motivated in part by a video that he saw showing American soldiers “plundering a house and...

Like FDR making a deal with Stalin, or Nixon reaching out to China, Americans are going to have to get used to the unthinkable — a treaty with Iran. So argues GEORGE FRIEDMAN, founder and CEO of the independent intelligence firm Statfor — sometimes called the private CIA — in his new book “The Next Decade” (Doubleday). In his previous book, “The Next 100 Years,” Friedman made the case for an American century, saying that no country truly threatens the United States’ economic or military dominance for decades. But in the next 10 years, how we handle that empire —...

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik rejected the argument that his office might bear more responsibility for the assassination attempt on Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Az) than Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh. “There are those who say that considering the numerous death threats Jared Loughner has made against various persons over the last year my office should have taken action against him before his Tucson shooting spree,” Dupnik said. “But these threats were against unimportant people and therefore of admittedly narrow scope. The broader threat was, and continues to be, that of right-wing extremism. Palin and Limbaugh are the foremost proponents of...

Nazis promised grand mufti of J'lem Haj Amin al-Husseini leadership of Palestine after slaughter of its Jews, according to US report. NEW YORK – A newly released report by the US National Archives details the close collaborative relationship between Nazi leaders and the grand mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, indicating that Nazi authorities planned to use Husseini as their leader after their conquest of Palestine. Husseini was paid handsomely by the Nazis for his efforts, recruited Muslims for the SS and was promised that he would be made Palestine’s leader after its Jewish population of 350,000 had been murdered.

In what may have been his very first feeble attempt at bipartisanship since being elected over two years ago, President Obama promptly destroyed any smidgin of good will he may have accumulated by mewling to the press about the perfidy of Republicans as he announced his deal to extend unemployment benefits (again!) in exchange for dropping a greatly-desired-by-Democrats tax increase. In response to a reporter’s question about rewarding the “obstructionism” of the Republicans, the President had this to say: “It’s tempting not to negoitate with hostage takers, unless the hostage gets harmed. Then people will question the wisdom of that...

The developers behind the proposed Ground Zero mosque have applied for about $5 million in federal grant money set aside for redeveloping downtown Manhattan after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, according to a new report. The application was submitted as a "community and cultural enhancement" grant, which is a program run by the Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Corp. Developer Sharif El-Gamal discussed the grant proposal in recent closed-door meetings, according to The Daily Beast. The revelation that the developers have asked for this grant could reignite outrage about the mosque's proposed location.

If you had your butt kicked in an athletic contest -- or an election -- you would think it would warrant a long look in the mirror. You might start thinking about what you could have done differently during the past contest, and perhaps you would reflect about your strengths and weaknesses, and those of your opponent. Back when I wrestled in high school, I had a teammate who was both outstanding on the mat and an exemplary student. I remember that on one rare occasion, he was soundly beaten. I will never forget his bruised-ego comment to me right...

The Obama Administration filed court papers asserting that “the Government has the authority to use deadly force against its enemies.” The filing came in response to a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) charging that the asserted killing authority violates the US Constitution. As the US Department of Justice (DOJ) Brief put it, “this Government faces serious threats both at home and abroad. Just this past November 2, over 60 members of the governing coalition were driven from their posts by dangerous right-wing elements who have been identified by the...

President Barack Obama defended his reference to Republicans as “enemies,” calling it “one of those self-evident truths to anyone who’s been paying attention.” “I am on a great crusade to transform America into a better country,” Obama boasted. “Who would oppose making America a better country? Enemies of all that is good and right, that’s who.” The President admitted that “It may have been impolitic of me to come right out and say it, but it kind of proves my point when I get hammered for my honesty. I mean, do they prefer dishonesty? Perhaps they do, but using my...

Al Qaeda declared war on the United States of America in 1998. Americans, in general, were ignorant about being at war with al Qaeda until September 11, 2001. Likewise, America seems to be ignorant about two other wars being waged against it. American blacks vote Obama for the color of his skin. American Leftists vote O because they hope he will shaft this country more royally than anybody else has so far. So what excuse do the Jews have? The black and the radical leftist vote O for reasons I can understand. Obama is black, even if his life experience has no relationship to the average American black person -- none at all. And Obama is a radical, so even the radicals have a reason. However, why does Obama keep has favorable standing with American Jews? It makes no sense. With his...

US communists called for unity against McCarthy-style witch-hunts at the weekend. Their appeal came in the wake of a series of raids on the homes of 12 peace activists during which computers and photographs were seized. The Communist Party USA (CPUSA) said the September 24 raids had nothing to do with protecting the US people against terrorism and "everything to do with chilling the long-cherished tradition of the right to dissent." FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force agents ransacked the activists' homes across the Midwest for evidence of "material support" for organisations such as the Popular Front for the Liberation...

Our allies hate him. Our enemies are laughing at him. Nearly two years after Obama’s World Tour in which he did his best to convince voters that he understood global challenges with a high profile tour of a lot of foreign countries (a approach that if it worked should convincingly make every internationally famous rock star a foreign policy expert), his biggest global accomplishment is still his ability to travel around the world to high profile destinations on the taxpayer’s shrinking dime. His attempts at diplomacy consisted of delivering vicious slaps across the faces of longtime allies, from England...

Take a good look at the picture in the featured article. Noticed how “aged out” President Barak Obama is. Not surprising at all, since it has been the practice of President Obama to go after ANYONE who opposes him and stands in his way. Not very good President Obama. Maybe if you stop attacking those whom you do not like, then you would not be “aging out”.

A few years ago, I passed a young man in the mall He looked fit and had a “high and tight” haircut. He wore an olive green T-shirt. The wording caught my eye: Mess with the best Die like the rest. Though the words were a bit crude, they conveyed the basic idea of the Bush administration and the war on terror. But things have changed. Perhaps it is time for a new T-shirt, one that more accurately reflects the Obama administration: If you put us to the test We’ll desert you like the rest. Of course, this shirt will...

WASHINGTON — In a cover story on global warming titled "You Idiots!" Rolling Stone named U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe as one of the "planet's worst enemies.'' The Oklahoma Republican took issue. He says Rolling Stone should have made him No. 1 in its global warming story. "My first response was I should have been No. 1, not No. 7," said Inhofe, perhaps the most vocal global-warming skeptic in Congress. "I am serious about that. I have spent now literally years on this thing, and it has been a long, involved thing.'' Although the magazine did not actually rank its "Climate...

What a day of contrast in America. In New York Harbor sits the latest warship of the US Navy, whose bow contains tons of steel that once supported the World Trade Center towers, the USS New York. In Washington, DC Speaker Nancy Pelosi intends to ram through the House a 2,000 page bill which will rob Americans of their freedom, giving the Federal government unprecedented control over the lives of every American. The warship will be commissioned today, in the name of the American people, to defend their freedom. The Speaker will try to enslave those same people. Make no...

Much has been made by the political left of Richard Nixon's infamous enemies list. The reality is most of those named were people who did not receive presidential Christmas cards or White House reception invitations. In contrast, Barack Obama has a real enemies list the peace prize-winner and his proxies have attacked during the past year, including the minority of news outlets that do not worship the media's latest false idol. In August 2008, the Obama campaign implored the Justice Department to levy criminal charges against those funding an American Issues Project commercial that proved embarrassing to Obama. Days later,...

Sen. Lamar Alexander, (R-Tenn.), from the Senate floor today, likened President Obama's war against FOX News to former president Richard M. Nixon's infamous "Enemies List". Alexander cited numerous recent examples of groups under siege by Obama's White House, including, as left-of center Politico recently put it, attempting to "neuter" the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, similar to Nixon's tactics forty years ago. Alexander should know. He was an aid of Nixon's in the 1970's.

A meme is forming in the popular consciousness that Barack Obama is a do-nothing president. Saturday Night Live recently poked fun at this image in a much-discussed skit, with comedian Fred Armisen as Obama admitting, "When you look at my record, it's very clear what I've done so far. And that is nothing." The ludicrous decision of the Nobel Committee to award the Peace Prize to Obama -- who had been ensconced in the White House a mere 12 days before the nomination deadline in February -- only solidified the image of Obama as more people-pleaser than policy-maven, more speech-giver...

This memorandum addresses the matter of how we can maximize the fact of our incumbency in dealing with persons known to be active in their opposition to our Administration, Stated a bit more bluntly--how we can use the available federal machinery to screw our political enemies. In brief, the system would work as follows: --Key members of the...
