The quickest way to divide people is to have them speak different languages. America has always been a nation of immigrants, but one of the things that has always united us as a nation has been the English language. In the past, it was always understood that if you wanted to thrive in the "land of opportunity" that you had better learn English and learn it well. Unfortunately, times have changed. Today, many radical activist groups are actually referring to the English language as a "tool of oppression"... » If you like this article, please subscribe to Right Side News...

SNIPPET: "While these various elements of the jihadist network are distinct, the Internet brings them together, especially at the grassroots level. Videos, websites and online magazines indoctrinate aspiring militants in the jihadist ideology and provide a forum for like-minded individuals and groups."

BERLIN (JTA) -- German-Jewish author Rafael Seligmann has launched a Jewish quarterly magazine. Jewish Voice From Germany, a private initiative started last week, is aiming to convince English-speaking Jews around the world that there is a future for Jewish life in Germany. Seligmann, 64, a native of Israel who came to Germany with his parents in 1957, told JTA that it pains him that many Jews outside Germany associate his country only with the Holocaust. “The fact is, we are a small but a very fast-growing Jewish community in Germany,” Seligmann said in a telephone interview. “We have a vivid...

As'ad AbuKahlil—a political science professor at California State University, Stanislaus—spoke last month at a day-long "teach-in" at the University of California, Berkeley titled, "Building Solidarity with the Arab Spring." It consisted of a number of "workshop sessions" at the Valley Life Sciences Building, followed by a "plenary session" at the Multicultural Center, and was co-sponsored by the Arab Resource Organizing Committee, the Berkeley Muslim Students Association PAC, the International Socialist Organization, and the Syrian American Council. AbuKhalil's workshop on "The U.S. and the Arab Uprising" was held in a tiny, hot, windowless room filled with students wearing hijabs and keffiyehs....

http://internet-haganah.com/harchives/007413.html "Whither the jihadi forums?" SNIPPET: "There are currently only three jihadi forums that are sufficiently active and well-connected to be of any interest whatsoever. Why we claim to be on the verge of defeating al-Qaida while simultaneously watching passively as they use these forums to regroup and regenerate is beyond me. These are the forums three: • al-Fidaa, a forum created by al-Qaida core. That it is directly linked to al-Qaida by definition moves it to the top of the list. Current membership: 2,462, all of whom can be considered "active" if only because they just joined the forum....

SNIPPET: "I. When considering the matter of jihadis online, remember that most of what we think we know is based on analyses of the comments made by an handful of vocal activists. The vast majority of jihadis online, be they on forums or social networking sites[i], say nothing." SNIPPET: "The real challenge is threat assessment." SNIPPET: "V. These are questions I ask about any jihadi online: • Where are they? • Who do they know? • What have they downloaded? • What have they uploaded? • What communities have they joined? • What sites are they involved in operating? Danish daily Extra Bladet showed on its website a photo of the suspect, who had reportedly attempted to blow himself up. Police did not immediately confirm the report. No one was injured in the explosion at the Jorgensen Hotel. Police handcuffed the man after he was seen running away from the hotel and into the nearby Orstedsparken park. "34 U.S. citizens and residents charged with ties to international jihadists in the past 18 months" SNIPPET: "A recently disclosed FBI Directorate of Intelligence document from July 2009 estimated that there were as many as 15,000 websites and web forums that were supportive of terrorist activities. Yet, officials say the number of websites is constantly changing since many of the sites and forums are not maintained, with current estimates indicating as many as 10,000 active sites. The FBI analysis noted that about 80 percent of those sites existed on U.S.-based computer servers."

SNIPPET: "Dr. Zakir Naik is a 44 year-old Muslim preacher born in India. He has gained a significant international following by establishing a satellite television network, Peace TV, which promotes Wahhabi Islam; it is based in Mumbai/Bombay, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, and has a supporting organization, the Islamic Research Foundation. Naik has mainly broadcast his message in English as well as Urdu. But Peace TV is an ambitious enterprise that now aims at Albanian Muslims, among others. Zakir Naik is distinguished by one characteristic: incitement of provocative disdain for any other Muslims than Wahhabis and Pakistani jihadists, as well as...

Lions, SalafiMedia.Com, Oh My… Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 SalafiMedia.com is one of the leading English-language online promulgators of the next generation of hardline Jihadi-Salafi media. I’d like to focus your attention on their primary logo: a ferocious lion. This specific lion image that they use appears widely across their website and in the videos they post to their website. Here are some examples:

NOTE: The following SNIPPET is a quote: DON'T OPEN THAT FILE, MEMET! With much fanfare, al-Malahim, the media arm of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, announced the imminent release of — and then subsequently did release — what they claimed was the first official English-language al-Qaida magazine. It's called "Inspire" as in "Inspire the Believers" (as opposed to the Quranic edict to Incite the Believers. They did this with the full cooperation of the administrators of the al-Faloja forum in particular. Interestingly, the first couple of pages of the document appear perfectly normal. Then things get weird...

Yes, learning a new language was difficult. Easier for me as a child and harder for my parents, but their drive for a better life fueled the need and those difficult days of hard work and the struggles as an immigrant and struggles learning a new language. Human nature tells us to set aside or give up on what is difficult. We may come back to it, but it sure is easier to keep putting it off. There is nothing wrong with helping another person. But to me, helping is giving them a nudge. Giving them the tools for them...

An order of the Virginia Colonial Council dated May 4, 1725, concerned an allegation that "divers Indians plundered the Quarters of Mr. John Taliaferro near the great mountains [i.e., the Blue Ridge] . . .[and carried off] some of the Guns belonging to and marked with the name of Spottsylvania County . . . ." The Council concluded: "It is ordered that it be referred to Colo. Harrison to make inquiry which of the Nottoway Indians or other Tributaries have been out ahunting about that time . . . ." Now, the Colonial Council was an august body and its...

Macy's Inc. says it's investigating a complaint that Somali employees at its Southdale store in Edina received a letter prohibiting the speaking of Somali at work. The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says it was contacted by six Somali-speaking employees of the Southdale Macy's who say they were warned that speaking Somali at work could warrant losing their jobs. According to CAIR-MN, the Macy's East document reads: "It is Macy East's policy that a common language is spoken during work -- therefore, effective immediately all associates must speak English while working -- It is a job...
