Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, the nation's largest radio operator, has upped John Hogan to chairman and chief executive. The promotion of Hogan, who had been president and CEO, comes as the company continues to try to make itself over as a general entertainment company. It recently changed its name to Clear Channel Media and Entertainment from Clear Channel Radio and is planning an expansion into television and live entertainment. Hogan has been with Clear Channel since 1999 and has managed to survive a few ownership changes during that time. The company is now part of CC Media Holdings Inc.,...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — An anti-profanity crusader on Tuesday asked ABC to pull this week's "Modern Family" episode in which a toddler appears to use a bleeped curse word. "Our main goal is to stop this from happening," said McKay Hatch, an 18-year-old college student who founded the No Cussing Club in 2007. "If we don't, at least ABC knows that people all over the world don't want to have a 2-year-old saying the 'F-bomb' on TV."

"I, Michael Jackson seek relief by the prohibition of Barack Hussein Obama on the U.S. Presidential ballot. Barack Hussein Obama is not "legally qualified" to be on the presidential ballot as he is not a Natural Born Citizen, which is a requirement mandated in Article II Section I Clause V of our U.S. Constitution to be eligible for President or Vice President. Moreover, I would seek relief in the recovery of all litigation expenses incurred; that my 14th Amendment rights provided in Section 1 of U.S. Constitution are not deprived nor caused to suffer injury."

Once upon a time, women were considered the "fairer sex," the "better half." Stewardesses were talented and beautiful. Wives were softer and gentler. Men fought for their honor. Feminism crushed all of that. It is a testimony to their movement that in today's post-feminist entertainment media, part of what makes television so corrosive and sour is just how piggish the women have become. The latest study from the Parents Television Council drives this concept home by going to the ugly center of pop culture: MTV "reality" programming. After studying entire seasons of four MTV shows, the PTC concludes: "Females talked...

The long stagnating Red Dawn remake looks set to finally see the light of day, with a designated release date on the horizon. According to Box Office Mojo, the film will hit screens on November 2, 2012 – three years after filming wrapped. A big black cloud has been hanging over Red Dawn in the form of the MGM bankruptcy saga, but, as reported here in September, independent distributor FilmDistrict struck a deal to finally get the film into cinemas, not matter how long it takes. The film is the first foray into directing by former stuntman Dan Bradley, who...

New York-When gamers take the wraps off the new "BioShock" video game next year, they should not be surprised if parts of the game remind them of the Occupy Wall Street protests. Ken Levine, the creative director of the Boston-based development studio Irrational Games visited the protests in Boston this month to do research for the next game in the best-selling "BioShock" series, which will be out in 2012. The game "BioShock Infinite," is set in 1912, in a floating U.S. city in the sky called Columbia, where two fictional political factions, the left-wing group called the Vox Populi and...

In our collective consciousness, the French have a reputation for scent. Cut into a wheel of Roquefort, uncork a vintage bottle of Petrus or a flacon of Parisian perfume and you'll smell what I mean. So, it should come as no surprise that French company, Olf-Action, has developed SMELLIT, a device designed to aromatically enhance the video games and movies of your home entertainment system. A cluster of what look like six miniature jet turbines affixed to a stand presumably will blast out synchronized odors that correspond with onscreen activity. SMELLIT hasn't officially been released yet, but it's due for...

BBC confirms the men, ages 30 and 33, were arrested after police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area near the singer’s home in Cullompton, England. The two were found with swords, maps of the singer’s home, ropes. forensic-style overalls and a body bag in their possession. “Police attended an address in Cullompton after alert residents notified officers about a suspicious-looking vehicle. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State lawmakers in country music's capital have passed a groundbreaking measure that would make it a crime to use a friend's login — even with permission — to listen to songs or watch movies from services such as Netflix or Rhapsody. The bill, which has been signed by the governor, was pushed by recording industry officials to try to stop the loss of billions of dollars to illegal music sharing. They hope other states will follow. The legislation was aimed at hackers and thieves who sell passwords in bulk, but its sponsors acknowledge it could be employed...

Is Adele the bravest, craziest, most downright wonderful star in the history of pop? After what she has just told Q magazine on the subject of tax, I think she might well be. Trains are always late, most state schools are ––––, and I’ve gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh? Battle: Los Angeles is one of those movies and geeks and nerds have dreamed about their entire lives. What would it be like if an alien force came to earth, was openly hostile, and the war began? How would we fight? This is a war movie, in the truest sense. Its closest Hollywood analogue would have to be Black Hawk Down...which says a lot about this current film. This is not Will Smith in Independence Day, happily flying around killing bad aliens. This is war, in it grittiest Hollywood iteration.

“30 Rock” funnyman Tracy Morgan isn’t amused by the backlash over his off-color Sarah Palin comment or the cyber whipping he took after undergoing a kidney transplant with an ex-galpal’s donated organ. Police said they had arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of shooting a 42-year-old fellow audience member who later died of his wounds. The conflict took place as the credits rolled during a screen of the Oscar-nominated film "Black Swan", according to police in the Baltic state. Witnesses told the Latvian news agency Leta that it arose over how loudly the deceased man was eating his popcorn. Gun-crime is relatively rare in Latvia, a European Union nation of 2.2 million.

Much like the music world itself, the Grammy Awards is a colorful train wreck of a television show. Inexplicable results and mesmerizing performances mixed with the mundane added up to a generally unsatisfying evening for CBS Sunday. Unless, of course, you're Lady Antebellum. The Grammys are barely an awards show anymore. As the music business has splintered and sputtered in recent years, the Grammys have become a performance show, advertising musicians who need the attention. Show producers don't even bother with a host anymore. For the first hour of Sunday's show, only one trophy was given out — for a...

Long hours, hard work, crap weather. Then there’s the boredom, the long hours of boredom, followed by the bursts of heart-pounding adrenaline. This is war. And it’s video games that keep many of those serving in the world they’ve left behind. This is video games as a way to stay connected, a way to stay sane, a way to make friends when friends matter most and even a way to feel the love of a spouse left behind. They alleviate boredom in the bunkers, on the battlefield and even in commando centres overlooking silos stacked with nuclear missiles. For much...

Della Reese says that she, Roma Downey and John Dye were very much "a family unit" during CBS' long-running series Touched by an Angel. But that family suffered a heavy loss with Dye's death at age 47 this week. "Roma, John and I were a family unit. We worked together every day for seven years," Reese tells The Hollywood Reporter. "We acted like a family. We lived like a family. I felt what he felt." "He was my Angel Boy, that's what I called him." The actor died from a heart attack Monday at his home in San Francisco.

Sorry for back-to-back trade policy vanities. Was reviewing the posts just now, and got to pondering. The left reflexively opposes Sarah Palin. They don't know why, I think it's they're having flashbacks to Anita Bryant. Meanwhile the right, is in a coma, regarding our trade policies. Willfully ignoring the problem, IMHO. Solution to both problems:
-
It was no less depressing for being predictable. News of the horrendous Jan. 8 shooting of Democratic Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 17 others had just broken when some on the left were exploiting it to malign conservatives. Yet the left has blamed the “vitriolic” rhetoric of conservatives and the Tea Parties as inciting violence. The mainstream media has enabled and even joined liberals in tarring the right with inciting political violence, right down to the gossip, entertainment and “lifestyle” outlets.

Kathy Griffin announced her New Year’s resolution to continue a verbal assault on the Palin family. Only in 2011, the comedian said she intends to target Sarah Palin’s 16-year-old daughter, Willow. "I've already gone for Sarah, Todd and Bristol obviously," Griffin told The Hollywood Reporter. "But I think it's Willow's year to go down. In 2011, I want to offend a new Palin.” Could Griffin be switching to a younger, easier Palin target following her Bristol backfire in December?

The U.K.'s Discovery Channel has reportedly pulled its upcoming documentary Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson. The move comes after complaints from the singer's estate and a public outcry from fans. According to a new report from nymag.com, the network yanked the special out of respect for the trial of Jackson's physician Dr. Conrad Murray. "Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Jackson's estate, the broadcast of the medical documentary has been postponed indefinitely," network reps said in an official statement. Earlier this month, reps from Jackson's estate submitted a heated...

When you discover something new on the internet, you usually find - minutes or hours later - that everyone else already knows about it, and you're just late to the party. And so it is here. Sarah Palin's fortunes are improving on TLC. Ratings for the politican's Alaska-based reality show grew for her third episode, reversing course after dropping sharply last week. Sarah Palin's Alaska delivered 3.5 million viewers Sunday night, rising 17% at the conclusion of the holiday weekend. Normally when ratings go down double digits for a second episode, the third outing generally falls at least a little, but not in this case. Palin may also have benefited from some weaker competition (ABC had the Country Music Awards the previous week). Even so, this is great news for TLC. The Alaska episode to watch...

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma...

This is breaking on Huffington Post. I looked at the comments and don't believe Palins kids said these things. The comments are private on facebook with Palins kids. Bristol supposedly commented on a comment from one of Willows classmate who posted on Facebook that Sarah Palins Alaska would fail. Willow then chimed in and called the guy a faggot and then went on a tirade back and forth as other people joined in the argument slandering Sarah and bringing up the Nailin Palin porn video and also calling Bristol fat.
