In a fiery House floor speech, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) tore into his fellow Republicans for not doing more to rein in the Democratic agenda and maintain their campaign promises.

Angry protesters lit fires, looted stores and taunted cops in Minneapolis Thursday after officers shot and killed a man — who was a fugitive who whipped out a handgun when authorities closed in on him. Members of a US Marshals task force were attempting to arrest the felon around 2 p.m. on a state warrant for being a criminal in possession of a firearm, authorities said.

After Stevie Wonder announced he would not be performing in Florida until the state’s “stand your ground” law was repealed, some expected a groundswell of support to follow. It has not. But there has been a reaction to the proposal from someone who thinks Mr. Wonder’s idea is a very foolish one.

On Wednesday night, CNN’s Piers Morgan hosted Robert Zimmerman, Jr., the brother of George Zimmerman, whose controversial tweet comparing Trayvon Martin to De’Marquise Kareem Elkins, a Georgia teenager accused of shooting a 13-month-old baby in the face, has sparked cries of racism. Morgan almost immediately went after Zimmerman, saying his tweets comparing the two “black boys” were “very controversial” and “bordering on outright racism.” Here are the tweets in question:

OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) – A tanker truck loaded with 8,000 gallons of fuel exploded on Friday morning in Oklahoma City when it collided with a car driven by a teenage girl on her way to school, fire officials said. Neither the truck driver nor the teenager were seriously injured, to the surprise of firefighters and police. "Her car was on fire as she was getting out," said Oklahoma City Fire Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland. "Pretty miraculous."

Two tractor trailers crashed and exploded into a ball of fire on Route 78 in Springfield, New Jersey Monday afternoon. The New Jersey State Police report that both drivers were trapped in their trucks. There are unconfirmed reports that both drivers died in the accident. Flaming debris was spread across the express and local lanes. The incident happened in the eastbound local lanes near Route 124 at mile marker 50. All Eastbound lanes are closed.
