Whether Muslim extremists Anjem Choudary, Abu Izzadeen and Sayful Islam will actually be able to pull it off or not remains to be seen. However, the trio are planning to stand on American soil in front of the White House on March 3 and proclaim a “call to arms” in which they will , “call for Sharia law to be established across the U.S.,” according to the Daily Mail...Anjem Choudary is the same extremist who has insisted that the Islamic flag will one day fly over the White House. He also said that he anticipates that thousands will turnout. Whether...

A new generation of Muslim American leaders is emerging in the United States. And a project at the University of Southern California called American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute is helping to train them. The American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute's approach includes stretching exercises and heart-to-heart sharing of personal stories. One goal is to help young Muslim leaders counteract negative sentiments, like the anti-Muslim protests last year surrounding plans to build an Islamic center near the site of the terrorist attacks in New York in 2001. Khuram Zaman, who helps to run an Internet-based Islamic educational site, said, “I think the...

Barack Obama has declared that all opposition groups should have representation in the next Egyptian government, which essentially ensures that the Muslim Brotherhood will be part of that government. The Brotherhood is the largest opposition group in Egypt, so it will probably end up in the driver’s seat in any new regime, and steer Egypt toward becoming an Islamic state inveterately hostile to the United States. So why isn’t Obama working to limit the Brotherhood’s scope and influence? Maybe because he doesn’t really have a problem with the Brotherhood, despite its hostility to America. He made sure to invite Brotherhood...

Hundreds of refugees who sought shelter in the United States during the early years of the Iraq war are coming under fresh scrutiny from U.S. government security officials for possible links to Al Qaeda's affiliate in Iraq. FBI Director Robert Mueller surprised some terrorism experts Thursday when, in response to a question about threats inside the United States, he said the FBI was closely monitoring Al Qaeda's Iraq-based offshoot. The group has killed thousands in Iraq but had not been viewed as a threat inside the United States. Mueller said the possible threat rested with "individuals who may have been...

CAIRO (AP) — The Egyptian government has made clear it believes a chief culprit stoking the anti-government protests roiling the country is pan-Arab broadcaster Al-Jazeera. Security forces have detained, and later released, at least nine Al-Jazeera correspondents since the protests erupted last month. Authorities have banned its Arabic and English language channels from broadcasting and revoked the press credentials of all its journalists. The channel has continued to report despite the restrictions. Pro-government thugs set the Qatar-based network's Cairo offices ablaze last week, along with the equipment inside, as part of a broad pattern of attacks on journalists covering the...

Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Kevin Parker announced a bill today to create an alternative bond market that would be permissible under Islamic law by creating alternatives to the traditional interest-based bonds. Many Islamic societies use the alternative structure, known as “sukuk,” since Islamic law prevents the securing of interest-bearing bonds. Parker argues that opening up New York to sukuk would open the state’s bond market to a new kind of international investor. “With the introduction of my legislation, New York leads the nation in fostering new investment opportunities to create jobs, reduce the cost of borrowing, and bring new...

Reporting from San Diego — U.S. border authorities have arrested a controversial Muslim cleric who was deported from Canada to Tunisia three years ago and was caught earlier this month trying to sneak into California in the trunk of a BMW, according to court documents. Said Jaziri, the former imam of a Muslim congregation in Montreal, was hidden in a car driven by a San Diego-area man who was pulled over by U.S. Border Patrol agents near an Indian casino east of San Diego on Jan. 11. Jaziri had allegedly paid a Tijuana-based smuggling group $5,000 to get him across...

Noted author Paul Kengor has unearthed declassified letters and other documents in the Soviet Comintern archives linking early leaders of the ACLU with the Communist Party.Kengor found a May 23, 1931 letter in the archives signed by ACLU founder Roger Baldwin, written on ACLU stationery, to then American Communist Party Chairman William Z. Foster asking him to help ACLU Chairman Harry Ward with his then-upcoming trip to Stalin’s Russia. The letter suggests Ward intended to visit the Soviet Union to find “evidence from Soviet Russia” that would undermine the capitalist profit motive.Baldwin wrote the letter at a time when Stalin was...

Nothing like a tough, clear answer to a simple question! Here is video of President Obama in India taking a question from a young lady who asked Obama very straightforwardly, “What is your opinion of Jihad?” Obama’s answer? “Well, the phrase Jihad has a lot of meanings within Islam, and is subject to a lot of different interpretations.” He then droned on about how Islam is a peaceful religion and the vast majority of adherents are peaceful people. He did say that violence on the part of any religion against others is not justified. This young lady asked a very...

The man, Sharif Mobley, who is charged by Yemeni authorities with murdering a hospital guard during an escape attempt, said he told others in his union: “We are brothers in the union, but if a holy war comes, look out,” said the report from the inspector general, Hubert T. Efforts by terrorists abroad to radicalize and recruit U.S. residents present new security threats, three top Obama administration officials told Congress on Wednesday. The threat posed by homegrown extremists shows that the battle against terrorism has become more complex in the past year, underscoring the challenges of pinpointing and blocking plots, said Michael Leiter, director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

A scientist and his wife who both once worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory were arrested Friday after an FBI sting operation and charged with conspiring to help develop a nuclear weapon for Venezuela. After their arrest, the two appeared in federal court in Albuquerque, N.M. They were accused of dealing with an FBI undercover agent posing as a Venezuelan agent. The government did not allege that Venezuela or anyone working for it sought U.S. secrets. The pair were indicted for allegedly communicating classified nuclear weapons data to a person they believed to be a Venezuelan government official.
