Photo credit—CNet: Josh Miller I get the sense that the FBI doesn't entirely appreciate Apple CEO Tim Cook.I get that sense from an interview he gave to NPR on Thursday. In it, he cogently explained Apple's attitude toward security in general and national security in particular.Cook repeated his view that Apple isn't interested in tracking its customers as infinitum from app to app."If you buy something from the App Store, we do know what you bought from the App Store, obviously," he said. "We think customers are fine with that. Many customers want us to recommend an app. But what...

President Barack Obama’s wedding ring was “noticeably missing” from his left hand on Sunday, according to a White House pool report. Obama, who was at Camp David in Maryland on Sunday, arrived back at the White House and was photographed by the Associated Press without a ring on his hand. He was playing golf earlier in the day to celebrate his birthday, which comes this Tuesday. Obama’s ring, however, was off his finger long before he stepped on the course.

Apple CEO and Alabama native Tim Cook had some choice words on Sunday about meeting former Alabama Gov. George Wallace when he was a teenager. Cook, the first openly gay CEO of a Fortune 500 company, spoke of Wallace during a commencement address he gave at George Washington University. According to Business Insider, the Robertsdale native told the graduating class an anecdote about visiting Washington, D.C., as a 16-year-old who had won an essay contest at school. Before leaving for D.C., Cook had the chance to go to Montgomery and meet Wallace, who was notorious for his opposition to racial...

Gotnews.com has independently identified the engineer at the center of the Amtrak crash that has killed at least seven. Brandon Bostian is the 32-year-old gay man who lawyered up after a deadly derailment in Philadelphia. The train was reportedly going twice the speed limit. ABC 6 previously reported that “Brandon Boshan,” not Brandon Bostian, was to blame for the deadly crash. (They have since taken down the link.) Bostian is a gay activist who previously worked at Target as a cashier before joining Amtrak, according to his LinkedIn.

Former ‘body man’ Reggie Love will be penning a book on his experience working alongside President Barack Obama. “Power Forward: My Presidential Education,” will be released Feb. 3 by Simon & Schuster and will follow Love’s five years working for Obama, including his time as the president’s personal aide. It is described by the publisher as “a professional coming of age story like no other.”Expect plenty of basketball talk too, as Love, who began working for then-Sen. Obama in 2006 and left the White House in 2011, will also draw on his time under Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, where...
