So sad. Barack plays comedian and cracks jokes about gas prices. He told an audience today that there’s “a few places” we’re not drilling… the National Mall… at your house.” HapBlog reported: Of course, like most everything Obama says, a quick Google search paints a totally different picture of the truth. Investor’s reported: Obama has chosen almost always to limit production. He canceled leases on federal lands in Utah, suspended them in Montana, delayed them in Colorado and Utah, and canceled lease sales off the Virginia coast. His administration also has been slow-walking permits in the Gulf of Mexico, approving...

Countering President Obama’s claim that he’s doing everything he can to increase domestic oil production, a top House Republican Thursday released data from the Energy Department showing that fossil fuel production on federal lands has fallen since Mr. Obama took office. The information compiled by the Energy Information Administration shows that total fossil fuel production on federal lands has dropped 7 percent since 2009 and 13 percent since 2003. From 2010 to 2011, total oil production on federal lands is down 14 percent and gas production dropped 11 percent. House Natural Resources Chairman Doc Hastings, Washington Republican, said the new...

Jay Carney, White House: It seems even talking about alternative energy sources is funny and I think calling them flat-earthers is appropriate. Mark Knoller, CBS News: "Isn't that a campaign message?" Carney: "No! It's a policy message. We believe we have to do this for the sake of America's economic future. It is simply not an option to say that we can keep drilling with two-percent of the known oil reserves in the world when we consume 20-percent of the world's oil. I was a mediocre math student, but that doesn't seem to work out.

President Obama took a shot at his opponents over their criticism of his energy policy during a speech at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland. “Now, here’s the sad thing. Lately, we have heard a lot of professional politicians, a lot of the folks who were running for a certain office, who shall go unnamed, they’ve been talking down new sources of energy. They dismiss wind power. They dismiss solar power. They make jokes about biofuels. They were against raising fuel standards. I guess they like gas guzzlers. They think that’s good for our future. We’re trying to move...

It's not unusual for President Obama to criticize his Republican predecessors from time to time, but this morning, he targeted his scorn not at George W. Bush or Ronald Reagan, but ... Rutherford B. Hayes. As Politico reported: Speaking about the need to develop new sources of American energy in Largo, Md., Obama used our 19th president as a failure of forward-thinking leadership. "One of my predecessors, President Rutherford B. Hayes, reportedly said about the telephone: 'It’s a great invention but who would ever want to use one?'" Obama said. "That's why he's not on Mt. Rushmore."

Panicked Evolutionists: The Stephen Meyer Controversy The theory of evolution is a tottering house of ideological cards that is more about cherished mythology than honest intellectual endeavor. Evolutionists treat their cherished theory like a fragile object of veneration and worship--and so it is. Panic is a sure sign of intellectual insecurity, and evolutionists have every reason to be insecure, for their theory is falling apart. The latest evidence of this panic comes in a controversy that followed a highly specialized article published in an even more specialized scientific journal. Stephen C. Meyer, Director of the Discovery Institute's Center for Science...

A pro-US weblog by three Iraqi brothers has become the unlikely setting for a huge web spat after conspiracy theorists alleged it was a fake. Iraq the Model, a weblog detailing the more positive aspects of the US-led occupation of the country, is one of the most popular Iraq sites on the web. But some anti-war activists said it was a CIA-sponsored propaganda tool. The brothers strongly denied the claims, but the row has led to severe ructions in the online Iraq community. 'Positive message' The blog, written by Baghdad-based brothers Mohammed and Omar, who are dentists, and doctor Ali,...

Mark Steyn wrote a terrific ARTICLE in today’s Washington Times titled “Alternative Universe” about the refusal of the DUmmies to accept the reality of the election results. And to see more proof of the refusal of the DUmmies to face reality, I present here this Dummie THREAD titled, “Many Americans refuse to concede 'stolen election'.” This Dummie Discussion is in Bolshevik Red and is based on a Cleveland Plain Dealer ARTICLE of the same title. So let us lead off this DUFU edition with an excerpt from the Cleveland Plain Dealer story. And if you haven’t figured it out...

s the horror of the South Asian tsunami spread and people gathered online to discuss the disaster on sites known as Web logs, or blogs, those of a political bent naturally turned the discussion to their favorite topics. To some in the blogosphere, it simply had to be the government's fault. On Democratic Underground, a blog for open discussion and an online gathering place for people who hate the Bush administration, a participant asked, "Since we know that the atmosphere has become contaminated by all the atomic testing, space stuff, electronic stuff, earth pollutants, etc., is it logical to wonder...

A few of the DUmmie Lemmings, following the tunes played by Pied Piper Pitt on his flute, have suddenly discovered that it is playing a sour note. Despite the promises that SOMETHING WONDERFUL would happen this week with Kerry’s signature placed on an obscure legal paper filed in Ohio by the Greens and Libertarians, NOTHING has happened. What little coverage this has gotten on the media was on Keith Olbermann’s show and he only mentioned it to discredit its importance. So now some DUmmies are realizing that, much to their surprise, Kerry WON’T be inaugurated this January. You can...
