The American Civil Liberties Union has asked the Minnesota Supreme Court to keep off the Nov. 6 ballot a proposed constitutional amendment that would require voters to show a photo ID. The ACLU petition, filed Wednesday, May 30, argues that the ballot question is misleading and fails to inform voters of changes in election law that could undermine their right to vote. "The question is misleading and false," said Charles Samuelson, ACLU Minnesota's executive director. The question asks voters whether the state constitution should be amended to "require all voters to present valid photo identification to vote."

A Texas company and a field operations supervisor stand accused of conspiring to harbor and transport Mexican workers living in Williamsport but not permitted to live or work in the U.S., employing them as part of a team doing seismic and surface mapping surveys for the oil and gas industry. GPX, a seismic surveying company based in Sealy, Texas, and its field operations supervisor, Douglas C. Wiggill, 42, of Fort Worth, Texas, are named in a grand jury indictment charging the company and Wiggill with harboring and transporting illegal aliens and conspiracy to commit those offenses, according to U.S. Attorney...

‘The information is going to be breathtaking when it’s released’ PHOENIX – After Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his Cold Case Posse lead investigator Mike Zullo (r) announced there was probable cause to believe the long form Certificate of Live Birth for President Barack Obama posted on the White House website on April 27, 2011 was a forgery, constituents pressed Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett to request proof of legitimacy before placing Obama on the 2012 ballot. Bennett, who made it quite clear during myriad recent interviews that he’s not a “Birther” and does not subscribe to the...

In the midst of the nation’s dire financial crisis, the U.S. government has given a former astronaut half a million dollars to launch a seemingly delusional idea to send “explorers” to another star system. By the government’s own account it’s a “dream” that may never come true considering these facts published in the mainstream newspaper that reported the grant; trips to the moon take three days each way and Mars, the next planet over, takes a robotic flier nine months to reach. Based on those speeds the journey to the nearest neighboring star would take tens of thousands of years....

Democrat personality David Paterson, former governor of New York and now a talk-radio host on WOR in New York City, has suggested Barack Obama could be ineligible for the Oval Office and “got away” with it. And Paterson linked Obama’s actions to treason. On his show yesterday, he was asserting, along with NBC Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd, that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney should have distanced himself more from developer Donald Trump and his doubts about Obama’s eligibility. “Even if he wasn’t born in the United States at this point,” Paterson said. “It’s kind of like he got...

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Sparks man accused of performing cosmetic surgeries in homes without a medical license has pleaded guilty to a felony count of practicing medicine without a license. . . He's accused of targeting illegal immigrants who were looking for nose jobs, stomach staplings and other cosmetic surgery. Authorities say three victims were not seriously injured by the medical work. Deputy District Attorney Nathan Edwards says Orozco-Abundis is an illegal immigrant whose July 17 sentencing will likely be followed by a deportation order for his removal from the country.

An intelligence source in Hawaii who warned early last year that a forged Obama birth record would be released now says that amid continued doubts about the authenticity of the document posted on the White House website, a forged “original” birth certificate intended to pass forensic inspection by using 1961 materials is being prepared and could be released as an “October surprise.” The source, who has contact with Hawaii government officials, was questioned by Mike Zullo, the head of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse team. Zullo recently returned from a trip to Hawaii to follow up on...

Would you like to play a neat parlor game with your friends? Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate forgery contains so many forger's errors which are visible to the naked eye or which can be seen on your computer under slight magnification that you can play a fun game finding them, either alone or in a contest with your friends. It's similar to the arcade game Whac-A-Mole, where you pound a mechanical mole back into its hole before it disappears on its own and randomly reappears in another one of the five holes in the game. You can score by time...

Two senior Republican senators want to know why a group of federal judges and court employees plan to hold a convention this summer at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, an oceanfront hotel where the website invites prospective guests to “frolic,” “pamper” and “play.” Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Jeff Sessions of Alabama said the conference for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco could ultimately cost taxpayers more than $1 million.

When President Obama gave the commencement address last week at the Air Force Academy, he congratulated the cadets for excelling at one of the most demanding schools in the country. But decades after Mr. Obama completed his own college course work, his academic performance is still a mystery. Before and after his election as president, Mr. Obama has refused to release his college transcripts from his days as an undergraduate and a law school student.

Here's a great way to reduce overhead and be effective at running a national organization dedicated to infringing on the gun rights of everyday people all at the same time... Have cities hire your people for you so that tax payers cover 1/4 of your people’s salary and benefits, pay for most of their operational costs, and finance all of their other resources! It also embeds your people as leaders in city government so that you don’t have to lobby there! Sounds like another conspiracy theory from the tinfoil hat brigade... Right? After nearly two weeks of heated debate over whether President Obama should attack Republican Mitt Romney’s tenure at a private-equity firm, Democratic leaders across the country say they are largely united behind the strategy, even as some concede an uncertain outcome and new polls show Obama has lost ground nationally. The Democratic leaders, in numerous interviews over the last week, said they are hearing little or no resistance among the party faithful in their states to a strategy that Republicans have characterized as anti-capitalist. And Obama has no plans to back off; his campaign will roll out more stories in...

Deputy Attorney General James Cole releases a statement without a hint of factual backing. The congressional investigations into the gunwalking plot known as Operation Fast and Furious largely faded from the public eye over the past month, yet there is a growing conviction among legislators of both parties that a grueling political battle is ahead. Those determined to uncover the truth behind Fast and Furious are being opposed by Democratic congressmen and Obama administration officials such as Deputy Attorney General James Cole. The Environmental Protection Agency held 12 hours of stacked hearings in Washington, D.C. and Chicago on Thursday in favor of a regulation that analysts have concluded would kill the building of new conventional coal plants in the U.S. Among the participants scheduled to testify in consecutive five minute blocks throughout the day were multiple representatives from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and environmental activists from the Sierra Club, the Environmental Defense Fund, the Natural Resources Defense Council and Greenpeace. The proposed rule, reported by The Washington Post in March, limits the amount of greenhouse gases emitted...
