U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., talks during an interview with The Associated Press in Nusa Dua on Bali island, Indonesia, Monday, Dec. 10, 2007. If China and other emerging economies don't contribute to reining in greenhouse gases, 'it would be very difficult' to get a new global climate deal through the U.S. Senate, even under a Democratic president, Kerry said. 11/09/2007 Kerry Spokesman Sets Limbaugh Straight on Swiftboat Smears WASHINGTON D.C. – Kerry spokesman David Wade issued the following statement today in response to Rush Limbaugh, who said on his radio show that Kerry’s Swift Boat attackers in 2004, “were right on the money and nobody has disproven anything they claimed in any of their ads, statements, written commentaries, or anything of the sort.” “At first I thought, that’s not Rush, that’s just the OxyContin talking. Nonetheless, this is a despicable but unsurprising new lie from a man whose closest brush with combat came when customs officials tried to take...

Democrats stampeded over each other yesterday to disassociate themselves from John Kerry, their presidential candidate two years ago, who has handed Republicans an election lifeline with remarks implying US troops in Iraq are there because they are stupid.Senator Kerry, speaking to a group of students in California on Monday, said: “You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” A video of his speech was placed swiftly on the internet and then...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 1, 2006 — Karl Rove, President Bush's top advisor, talked to ABC News' Ann Compton about the remarks Sen. John Kerry says were a botched joke about the president, and about Bush's future. Here is a transcript of the conversation: COMPTON: Senator John Kerry has made a statement about Iraq. Do you take him at his word that he was talking about the president and not the troops? ROVE: I take him at his word when he insulted America's fighting forces. This is a habit that he's had over the years. He did it when he came back...

Republicans were dismayed to hear Ron Reagan, Jr., deliver what sounded like a rebuke to President Bush during a final tribute before his father was buried on Friday. Referring to his dad as "a deeply, unabashedly religious man," the Reagan son added, "But he never made the mistake the fatal mistake of so many politicians - wearing his faith on his sleeve to gain political advantage. . . " "He accepted [his faith] as a responsibility, not a mandate," noted the presidential son. "And there is a profound difference." Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley said there was no doubt the comments...

Tell John Kerry: If You Want To Campaign Full Time, RESIGN From The Senate! This has the making of a scandal written all over it. John Kerry was absent, to campaign, 64% of the time last session. This session, he has been absent nearly 100% of the time! Bob Dole had the tact, when he started campaigning full time, to resign. Not only did Dole resign from the Senate, but he also gave up the coveted position of Majority Leader. Kerry doesn't even hold a leadership position. Note: If Kerry resigns, the Governor of MA gets to appoint a temporary replacement. ...

On an April night in Washington 33 years ago, a tall, slender man in navy combat fatigues tapped me on the shoulder. I was sitting in a large army tent pitched on the Mall, in the company of a couple of dozen Vietnam vets, one of whom—a bearded, wiry little guy with a terrific sense of humor and an inexhaustible supply of mescaline—was temporarily using my other shoulder as a resting place for the stump that had been his left leg. He’d just asked how come I was wearing a South Vietnamese officer’s jacket with the word "TIME" embroidered over...

Kerry does not like off shore companies: Oh Really? Just came across a bit of information regarding Kerry and his claim of the Bush administration sending jobs abroad. Well, it seems that the Heinz Corporation, owned by Kerry's wife, has 79 plants where it manufacturers products and 57 of the 79 are located in countries outside of the U.S. How many U.S. jobs are lost here? ST-BRIAC-SUR-MER, France, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- John Forbes Kerry is not running for president here, but if he were, he would clinch the town's vote. Call it partly anti-Bush backlash after months of Iraq-related mudslinging across the Atlantic, but it cannot hurt that the Massachusetts Democrat summered as a child in this picturesque village, hugging Brittany's rocky shores. Or that Kerry's cousin happens to be mayor of St. Briac. "I know my cousin, and I know he has a clear view of the rest of the world," said 58-year-old Brice Lalonde. "And sometimes the rest of the world feels a...

This letter from a reader sounds awfully consistent with the "beignets" story I posted last week: Dear Jonah Goldberg, let me share what a friend of mine, a college professor originally from Massachusetts and with liberal point of views, told 1 year ago about his so far only encounter with John Kerry. My friend was standing in line at Barnes & Noble, when John Kerry approached the sales clerk, demanding to have his purchase processed immediately. The clerk was not inclined towards granting Kerry that favor, whereupon Kerry asked him: "Don't you know who I am?" The clerk had an...

JFK (II): WAR HERO OR FAKE WARRIOR? Henry Mark Holzer Senator John Forbes Kerry, Navy veteran and candidate for the democrat party nomination for President of the United States, has for years played the “war hero” card. As the story goes, for his service in wartime Vietnam Kerry was awarded a Silver Star, a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. However, for all those years, and especially now, questions have been raised and doubts have surfaced about the legitimacy of some of those awards. Few people know the truth, preeminently Senator Kerry—but he’s not talking. This is not to...

How appropriate that on the day John ``Liveshot'' Kerry admitted that his presidential campaign is on the ropes, local Democrats gathered for the 70th birthday of Liveshot's mentor, the equally clueless presidential candidate from 1988, M. Stanley Dukakis. My invitation to the Duke's Park Plaza soiree was lost in the mail, but I assume that the Duke made his entrance into the ballroom in an appropriate fashion. In a tank. Gigolo John, of course, was briefly Dukakis' lieutenant governor. He left no footprints, only a reserved parking space under the dome at the State House that was later claimed both...

<p>SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Sen. John Kerry's presidential bid got a key endorsement Tuesday from Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who praised him for having the "strength, experience, leadership and judgment to be an excellent president."</p>
<p>Feinstein, a Democrat, is California's senior senator and arguably the most popular politician in the voter-rich state. She is one of only two U.S. senators to endorse Kerry's presidential bid so far - the other being his Massachusetts colleague, Ted Kennedy.</p>

I got notice yesterday from Chuck McGee, my contact into the Citizens for a Sound Economy, that John Kerry will be speaking in New Hampshire on Sept. 3... Friends, Sen. John Kerry will be making his presidential campaign announcement tour in NH on Wednesday, September 3rd. That is a week from this coming Wednesday. The details have yet to be announced but it is an excellent chance for CSE and the GOP in general to welcome Sen. Kerry. This is a great opportunity for us to stage a large group of greeters, with t-shirts, homemade signs, etc. and earn some...

<p>Suffice it to say that Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry has made "Iraqgate" the theme of his campaign.</p>
<p>On virtually every stump he's stood on this week, the Massachusetts Democrat has complained that President Bush sidestepped the congressionally approved path to war by bypassing the United Nations, by not building an international coalition, and simply by not doing what it was that he had promised to do (actually, one could argue that the senator is wrong on all three counts).</p>
