Last week, Breitbart News revealed a secret video game journalist mailing list used by a clique of influential writers, editors, and bloggers, some of whom attempted to bully their colleagues with it in an attempt to shape the news agenda for political purposes. We can today reveal the complete list of journalists, some 150 key industry figures, on the list. Outlets with representation span the entire video games journalism universe and include Polygon, Ars Technica, Wired, Eurogamer, Destructoid, Kotaku, Joystiq, TechRadar, and many other well-known brands in games publishing. But they also include freelancers and staffers for publications as solidly...

While Apple may tinker with the final packaging and design of the final phone, it's clear that the features in this lost-and-found next-generation iPhone are drastically new and drastically different from what came before. Here's the detailed list of our findings: What's new • Front-facing video chat camera • Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS) • Camera flash • Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad) • Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher...

(Reuters) - With economic policy stimuli already at full tilt, no government wants an overvalued exchange rate to slay recovery, and the rival "soft currency" needs are producing some elaborate rhetorical jousting. The problem is that major exchange rates -- at least those between the developed G4 economies of the United States, euro zone, Japan and Britain -- are largely market determined and difficult to control. There's no magic wand to conjure up devaluation and the monetary and fiscal levers that could possibly engineer a free-floating depreciation are near exhausted. G4 interest rates remain near zero. New money and liquidity...

The recall of Sony-manufactured laptop computer batteries was extended on Thursday to about 1.1 million battery packs used in systems sold by Apple. The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and follows a similar recall of 4.1 million Sony-manufactured batteries used in Dell laptops announced last week. Dell and the CPSC had reported six known instances of battery problems in Dell computers, including some well-documented occurrences of fires associated with the batteries and computers. The CPSC said Apple has received nine reports of batteries overheating, including two reports of minor burns from handling overhead computers and...

China and US 'unite' over UN bid Any successful bid to change the Council needs two-thirds majority Beijing will work with the United States to block a plan to add new permanent members to the UN Security Council, China's UN ambassador says.Wang Guangya said he agreed the deal with the new US ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, at a meeting. Meanwhile, the African Union has voted to demand two veto-wielding...

30 July 2005: Stung with Italian allegations of the G-4 bribing governments to win permanent seats in the UN Security Council, India has upped its opposition, and now demands an apology from Italy, while Japan has mobilised the US and Germany France and Russia to condemn the charges. If Italy fails to make suitable repairs, diplomatic sources warned that the G-4 would resort to boycotting its envoys in the UN and other international forums, but this has also given an expected lever to break the so-called Coffee Club of forty mid-sized countries which oppose India, Japan, Germany and Brazil’s permanent...

New Delhi, July 1 (PTI) Pledging its "active" support to India becoming a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Britain today said it would back the G-4 resolution seeking expansion of the world body but expressed difficulties in co-sponsoring it. "We believe it is right because of India's size and importance and if the Security Council is to maintain its legitimacy, it is quite proper to ask a country like India to be represented in it," British High Commissioner Michael Arthur told reporters here. Britain has been "very vocal" and "active supporter" of India's membership of the Security Council,...

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan may have to settle for second-class status in an expanded U.N. Security Council, given opposition from China and half-hearted U.S. support for its bid to gain permanent membership of the elite body, analysts said. Japan, along with Germany, Brazil and India, on Wednesday dropped demands for veto rights in their joint effort to expand the powerful 15-member body and gain permanent seats on it. While many countries agree on increasing membership on the council as it still reflects the balance of power at the end of World War II, the current five permanent members are reluctant...

After using my Dell Dimension Desktop with Windows XP at college for a while, I am throwing in the towel. I'm sick of using a pathetic "bite-off" operating system that's been stuck on the same version since 1995, built on a horribly unreliable platform that's only recently had any sort of improvement, exhibits unstable behavior for no apparent reason sometimes, and just doesn't cut it with video capture and editing. Whenever I get a new computer with a new version of Windows, my enjoyment of computing goes up--for precisely three weeks. Then I'm right back where I started. (You can...
