When I was asked to write a foreword to Geert Wilders’ new book, my first reaction, to be honest, was to pass. Mr. Wilders lives under 24/7 armed guard because significant numbers of motivated people wish to kill him, and it seemed to me, as someone who’s attracted more than enough homicidal attention over the years, that sharing space in these pages was likely to lead to an uptick in my own death threats. Who needs it? Why not just plead too crowded a schedule and suggest the author try elsewhere? I would imagine Geert Wilders gets quite a lot...

Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders defended his views about Islam in an intense and extensive interview with The Daily Caller. “Because I spoke out against the ideology called Islam already for almost 10 years now, I was marked for death,” Wilders, who was in Washington to promote his latest book, “Marked for Death: Islam’s War against the West and Me,” told TheDC. “If you speak the truth — and I believe people should speak the truth about Islam — you pay a very heavy price.” Islamist clerics issued fatwas calling for Wilders death after he began speaking out against Islam. He...

Wilders acquitted of all charges Last Updated on Thursday, 23 June 2011 09:35 This morning the Court of Amsterdam has acquitted Geert Wilders of all charges. “I am delighted with this ruling,” says Geert Wilders. “It is a victory, not only for me but for all the Dutch people. Today is a victory for freedom of speech. The Dutch are still allowed to speak critically about islam, and resistance against islamisation is not a crime. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak.”

Geert Wilders: "I am risking my life in defence of freedom in the Netherlands" Final remarks of Geert Wilders at his trial in Amsterdam, June 1st, 2011 Mister President, members of the Court, I am here because of what I have said. I am here for having spoken. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak. Many have kept silent, but not Pim Fortuyn, not Theo Van Gogh, and not I. I am obliged to speak. For the Netherlands is under threat of Islam. As I have argued many times, Islam is chiefly an ideology. An ideology...

“In the process of fighting for freedom, I lost my own freedom,” Dutch politician Geert Wilders explained. Our weekly Canadian program, “On the Front Line,” was one of the media outlets carefully selected to interview Wilders during his first visit to Canada last week. For several years, public and private discourse has centered around the sensationalism of Wilders’ epic battle against the Islamization of the West. But this interview (still to be aired) revealed some of Wilders’ less publicized views on moderate Islam and the personal cost of his quest. Wilders, who remains under explicit death threats from Muslims, is...

http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/2011/05/geert-wilders-comes-to-nashville.html Mr. Wilders will continue his lectures in Nashville, where the current legislature is contemplating “anti-sharia” legislation. Nashville’s neighboring city of Murfreesboro is famous for its battle over a planned mega-mosque. The Cornerstone Church is a large church in the Nashville area, where several thousand Christians are expected to listen to Wilders’ “Warning to America”. -Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday May 12, 2011

An extremely hard hitting, non PC interview with Dutch Member of Parliament and anti Islamic campaigner Geert Wilders. You may not agree with everything he says, but he deserves full credit for courage and coherence.

"Mr. President, members of the court, stop this unfair, political trial. Respect our Dutch freedoms." Mister President, members of the Court. I recently tried to have Your Honors removed from the case for your refusal to register a statement of perjury against Mr. Hendriks. My challenge of the court did not succeed. I must accept that. I do wish to say, however, that I was more annoyed by another declaration of the President of the Court on the day of the official hearing of Mr. Jansen. He said that I was a free man, that I could not be compared...

Geert Wilders's speech at the Annual Lecture at the Magna Carta Foundation in Rome on March 25: Signore e signori, ladies and gentlemen, dear friends of the Magna Carta Foundation, molte grazie. Thank you for inviting me to Rome. It is great to be here in this beautiful city which for many centuries was the capital and the centre of Europe’s Judeo-Christian culture. Together with Jerusalem and Athens, Rome is the cradle of our Western civilization – the most advanced and superior civilization the world has ever known. As Westerners, we share the same Judeo-Christian culture. I am from the...

Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician who is about to stand trial for “hate speech” against Muslims, has suggested a ten-point program to save the West from being jihadically overrun. The times are so surreal. Wilders, who is also due to speak on 9/11 in downtown Manhattan, near Ground Zero suggests that we must: 1. Stop cultural relativism. We need an article in our constitutions that lays down that we have a Jewish-Christian and humanism culture. 2. Stop pretending that Islam is a religion. Islam is a totalitarian ideology. In other words, the right to religious freedom should not apply to...

The quantity of e-mail I am getting about Geert Wilders has been growing rapidly as the "Ground Zero Mosque" story grows. I have very interested to know if my fellow Freeepers: 1. Knows who this guy is? 2. Understands his "message/warning" about the ISLAMIZATION 3. Thinks he is "on track" or "over the top" with his message. There have been many postings on FR about his message, I am curious what my fellow FReepers think about him as a person and his "mission" to educate the world on the "dangers of Islam/Jihad".

Imam Rauf and his wife Daisy Khan had not signed a Freedom Pledge request sent them last October, abjuring death fatwas against those who leave Islam. So much for Rauf and Khan’s taqiyya about building a ‘peaceful’ tolerant world, given their intolerance. Then there is this stunning revelation courtesy of a Gates of Vienna report that Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party (PVV) has uncovered Dutch government support for the ‘ground zero’ project: a $1 million grant made to the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA) headed by Imam Rauf and Ms. Khan. Given this disclosure should Imam Rauf and Ms. Kahn...

If there is one major news outlet that would be expected to leap to the defense of free speech when that vital linchpin of liberty is under attack, one would expect that Fox News would be the one organization to do so. After all, it wasn’t so long ago that the Obama administration tried to cut Fox out of access to the White House. To their credit, Fox’s competitors leapt to defend – not Fox, whom the rest of the mainstream networks despise – but free speech. That episode makes the way that all the networks, and Fox in particular,...

An open letter to Geert Wilders: ...I began this letter by assuring you that you have a far wider community of supporters than you might at times suspect. True, several conservative bien pensants and generally astute observers of the ideological world, such as Bill Kristol, Glenn Beck and Charles Krauthammer, have lately taken you to task on Fox News and elsewhere for your supposed intransigence, your explicitness and your “radical” stance vis à vis Islam, that is, your refusal to differentiate between a peaceable Islam and violent Islamism... So unfortunate a dereliction is highly problematic and, at first blush, inexplicable—unless,...

"...The meddia, at our peril, venerate the terrorist Muhammad – and to be honest, that word is a euphemism for the so-called “prophet”. As I look at the western media dismissing a prescient man like Wilders, it reminds me of the years of disdain that Sir Winston Churchill endured from Parliament and the media as he vociferously warned them of the evils of Adolf Hitler. The ignorance toward the murderous intent of Islam upon the entire globe is absolutely surreal. Couple that with the extreme hostility those same appeasers of Islam have toward Christ and it will strengthen the faith...

I was recently forwarded a link to a column by conservative author Diane West. In this column (linked below) Ms. West points out some disturbing trends regarding the media mollycoddling of Islamic tyrants. A recent example she highlighted was their treatment of Geert Wilders. If you are not familiar with Mr. Wilders, it’s not surprising given the obvious pro-Islam bias our media has demonstrated. Wilders is leader of the Freedom Party in the Netherlands and has been sounding the alarms against the Islamization of Europe. Wilders became internationally known for his controversial film called Fitna - roughly translated as "strife"...

Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician and outspoken critic of Islam, sparked outrage across Europe last week when he showed his anti-Islamic film in the UK's House of Lords. Though the backlash against Wilders from America media has also been harsh, some of it has come from the unlikeliest of sources: Fox News. The conservative network ran a special report from Bret Bauer on Wilders, and Glenn Beck indirectly lumped him in with French politician Jean Marie Le Pen as members of a rising fascist movement in Europe (starting at the 13:00 mark).

Washington, DC: Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders, founder and floor leader of the Freedom Party (PVV), and member of the Board of Advisors of the International Free Press Society (IFPS), recounted today before a packed audience in Washington's National Press Club the recent, alarming attacks on free speech worldwide - including legal actions and death threats to which he and other political leaders and journalists have lately been exposed. Notably, Mr Wilders is being prosecuted in his own county because of reaction to his film "Fitna," and his remarks challenging the contention that Islam is a "religion of peace."

The government has come under fire after banning a Dutch MP from entering the UK over anti-Islamic remarks. Former Conservative cabinet minister Michael Portillo said by turning away Geert Wilders, ministers had made a "populist twit and bigot" world famous. The Freedom Party MP had been invited to a House of Lords screening of his film, linking the Koran to terrorism.

The International Free Press Society has issued an open letter to the British Government regarding its decision to bar Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders from entering the country. The letter contains this paragraph (but be sure to read it all, at the link): The British Home Office has further stated that in barring Geert Wilders from the UK it is stopping “extremism, hatred and violent messages” from coming to its country. The British Home Office is wrong. These things are already there. With this crude rebuff of Mr. Wilders, the Netherlands, and freedom of speech, the British government has all but...

Free Speech Death Watch Update: dhimmitude is triumphant today in the UK. Britain's Muslim peer, Lord Nazir Ahmed, threatened to mobilize 10,000 Muslims to protest Wilders' appearance and the showing of Fitna in the British Parliament. Instead of standing up to this thuggery, telling Lord Ahmed that the public order will be protected and making it clear that the British government would protect the freedom of speech as a cornerstone of free society, the British have caved:

To: The Dutch Government WHEREAS Geert Wilders has exercised his fundamental human right of freedom of expression and spoken out, with facts and evidence, of the threat posed by radical Islam; WHEREAS certain elements within Islamic communities have threatened a boycott of Dutch goods if Geert Wilders is not punished by the Dutch government for exercising his freedom of expression; and WHEREAS certain elements in Dutch industry and the Dutch government are suggesting that Geert Wilders be prosecuted civilly or criminally, in order to prevent such a boycott; IT IS RESOLVED that, in the event that the Dutch government attempts,...

As this group’s television channel, ‘Channel Five’, revealed Geert Wilders of a radical political party from Holland is campaigning hard to promote his film against Islam. The film has scenes that militate against Islam and could hurt Muslim sensibilities as a result. Geert Wilders is only widening the wedge between the Muslim world and the West. He has happily pounced on the freedom of speech bandwagon to justify his act of insulting Islam and lending his support to any individual who says anything against Islam. He even has the audacity to criticise those videos on the internet that depict him...
