  • Compared to Gingrich's Energy Drilling, Personal Social Security plans, what are Romney's plans?

How can we conservatives tolerate Romney's campaign messages which are devoid of specific plans and full of cheerleading sound bites like "I'll fix all the problems when elected"? These empty sound bites are so easy for Obama to attack. On the other hand, Obama would have a very difficult time attacking the fact-filled plans of Newt Gingrich. See the Cspan link below. http://www.c-span.org/Campaign2012/Events/Newt-Gingrich-Delivers-Policy-Speech-in-Delaware/10737429794/ Come on Conservatives! Before it is too late, get behind Newt for President.

Alan Keyes wrote: As I anticipated, “the elitist machinations of the sham party system are predictably moving America toward another false choice between an avowed socialist Democrat and a prevaricating socialist Republican.” Marco Rubio’s endorsement of Mitt Romney kicks off an orchestrated wavelet of “influential” endorsements, signaling an end to the sham competition that culminated in a not very credible “dramatic face-off” between Romney and one of his 2008 cheerleaders, Rick Santorum... The “lesser evil” approach guarantees the triumph of wrong. So in choosing between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama we are like the cornered target of the hit man...

    - During a meeting with 18 Delaware Tea Party leaders here on Wednesday, Newt Gingrich lambasted The Fox News Channel, accusing the cable news network that employed him as recently as last year of having been in the tank for Mitt Romney from the beginning of the Republican presidential fight and singling out former colleagues for attacking him out of what he characterized as personal jealousy. “I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through,” Gingrich said during the private meeting at Wesley College to which RealClearPolitics was granted access. “In our experience, Callista and I both believe...

We conservatives should be discussing and debating Newt Gingrich's ideas about US Energy Independence via Oil and Gas drilling and about Newt's Personal Social Security ideas. Personally, I would like the news media to talk about Newt's energy and social security ideas for the GOP Platform more than talking about the VP chances for Nikki Haley, governor of SC. Newt's continued candidacy allows we conservatives to continue talking about new ideas and plans instead of talking about superficial, "student council" concepts. Idea do matter.

(RALEIGH) -- Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is spending a lot of time in North Carolina this week. The former House Speaker told supporters in Raleigh on Monday that he is staying in the race to influence the party's platform. Even though Gingrich is in third place and his poll numbers are shrinking, he said he is staying in the race to influence the party's platform. At the same time, he explained why he thinks frontrunner Mitt Romney will win the nomination and the White House. "What I said was compared to Barack Obama he is conservative enough. But the...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Rick Santorum has just suspended his campaign. I think the reason for suspending the campaign is it allows you to continue to raise money to pay off your debt, but Santorum's campaign has been suspended. God bless him. I don't know why. I don't know if he had internal polling numbers that looked bad in Pennsylvania. I don't know if it's money. I don't know if it's the accumulation of pressure on him from the establishment. It's probably a combination, some people say unprecedented, in a Republican primary. Negative campaign ads have clearly worked. They drove Newt...

RALEIGH, N.C. — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s campaign Monday began morphing into less of a pursuit of the presidency and more into an effort to shape the Republican platform and to influence the discussion in the fall elections. Campaigning in Raleigh, Gingrich said he planned to battle front-runner Mitt Romney in North Carolina’s May 8 primary and all the way to the GOP convention in Tampa, Fla., but conceded the prospects of overtaking the former Massachusetts governor were not bright. But he said Republicans still face serious choices at the convention and into the fall — whether the GOP...

Foster Friess, the retired investor who spent nearly $1.7 million boosting Rick Santorum’s presidential run, is ready to help Mitt Romney. “I’m obviously going to be of help in whatever way I can,” Friess told POLITICO Tuesday afternoon, hours after Santorum suspended his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination, cementing Romney’s status as the party’s presumptive nominee. Friess, who was in Washington to accept an award from the Horatio Alger Association, said he had yet to discuss his planned shift in allegiance with Romney’s campaign campaign or the Washington-based super PAC supporting it.

That didn’t take long: Newt Gingrich has “humbly” asked Rick Santorum supporters to channel their support (read: money) to his campaign. The Gingrich camp, deeply in debt after dismal performances in recent primary races, released a statement minutes after Mr. Santorum’s exit from the Republican primary this afternoon, saying, “Rick has waged a remarkable campaign. His success is a testament to his tenacity and the power of conservative principles.” “I humbly ask Senator Santorum’s supporters to visit Newt.org to review my conservative record and join us as we bring these values to Tampa,” Mr. Gingrich’s statement continued. ...At 2:22 p.m. the candidate stepped up to the microphone at the platform in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and announced that he was suspending his 2012 presidential campaign. To his right stood his loving and dedicated wife Karen - and her expression said it all. She is an extraordinary woman, a lawyer, NICU Nurse, author, mother and Rick's best friend. However, she is also a woman who shows her heart. Surrounding them both were several of their beautiful children. Rick Santorum recounted the story of Good Friday in the Santorum home. He called it a "Passion Play of sorts". Their little three...

Last week, after three days of tough argument before the Supreme Court, the President created a stir when he said that it would be “unprecedented” for the Supreme Court to overturn his national healthcare plan. Obama further questioned the legitimacy of “unelected” and “activist” judges. Conservatives went crazy! How could the President criticize the authority of the Supreme Court? On December 18, 2011, Republican candidate Newt Gingrich lost significant momentum when he told the nation on Face the Nation that judges, at least in some circumstances, should be called to account for their decisions that ignore the public will,...

It was just one line slipped into the middle of a paragraph of Mitt Romeny's speech on April 3 celebrating his primary victories in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia: “And the most vulnerable have been hurt the most — over 30 percent of single moms are struggling in poverty.” Seemingly unremarkable, these 19 words represent one of the many steps Romney will be taking as he treks back to the center in the aftermath of a primary campaign dominated by the hard right... Businessman and former G.O.P. gubernatorial nominee Carl Paladino, the most highly visible remaining supporter of Newt Gingrich in New York, says the former speaker's somewhat-suspended campaign plans to make an aggressive push here before the April 24 primary. "I think he's got a blistering schedule planned," said Paladino, who mentioned events in the Buffalo area and central New York, though he declined to offer specifics. (A campaign spokesperson didn't return an email about the campaign's plans.)
