On Saturday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and actor Danny Glover will join the March on Mississippi in order to protest a pattern of civil rights abuses against the company's predominantly African American workers. Also joining the march are Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), NAACP President Cornell William Brooks, Sierra Club President Aaron Mair, hundreds of workers, civil rights leaders and social justice advocates. The march will end at Nissan's Canton factory, and the marchers will demand that the company start respecting its workers’ right to vote for a union free from fear and intimidation.

Gerardo Hernandez, a spy for Communist Cuba and the man responsible for the murder of four humanitarian workers (three of whom were American citizens) over international waters, was freed from prison last year by the Obama administration, due in part to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). This was revealed at a February 6, 2015, celebration of Hernandez’s release, along with two of his fellow Cuban agents (collectively known as the “Cuban 5.. At the beginning of the event, an IPS official thanked all who who took part in the 17-year campaign and singled out a number of organizations that...

Alice Walker is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author who’s made her moral case against the Cuban embargo scathingly clear. In a letter to then-President Bill Clinton, she said, “Even if you despise Fidel and even if the Cubans should not have shot down the planes violating their air space. the embargo is wrong because it punishes people for being who they are.” As it happens, we have sympathy for the argument that opening up regimes to the world may well do more to fight oppression than boycotts and embargoes. But when it comes to Alice Walker, the same woman who has...

The Constitution's Second Amendment was created to bolster slavery and capture land from Native Americans, award winning actor Danny Glover told a group of students at a Texas A&M sponsored event on Thursday. “I don’t know if you know the genesis of the right to bear arms,” he said. “The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans.” “A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that’s what the genesis of the second amendment is,” he continued. Glover, best...

Why is ACORN's chief organizer friendly with the Marxist anti-American governments of two South American countries? Within ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis's storied rogues gallery of a rolodex may be found contact information for then-Bolivian ambassador Gustavo Guzman and for Sabine Kienzl, a professional propagandist employed by the Venezuelan embassy. The listing for Guzman contains what appears to have been a direct office telephone number. An ACORN insider I spoke with confirmed the authenticity of the rolodex which I have seen. Erick Erickson of the website RedState recently did an excellent job unveiling the rolodex. Both Bolivia and Venezuela are now headed...

( Liberals: Finally, Democrats stopped with the crazy talk and the violent rhetoric. Just kidding. Democrat Rep Jim Moran: "It [Republican victories in November] happened ... for the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States. Southern states, particularly the slaveholding states, didn't want to see a president who was opposed to slavery. In this case a lot of people in this country, it's my belief, don't want to be governed by an African-American, particularly one who is inclusive, who is liberal, who wants to spend money on everyone and who wants to reach out to include everyone...

Utah State University President Stan Albrecht used an Earth Day speech to comment on actor Danny Glover's controversial selection as May's commencement speaker as well as the global warming debate, saying that both illustrate a lack of "rational and thoughtful discourse." Albrecht began by saying that "ideological discord" in the United States has reached new heights. "Looking at this life in total, it reflects 40 years of actions that are centered in kindness and generosity, acts that are not at all defined by politics but by compassion for people," Albrecht added. "He has also been a political activist, taking on...

Actor Danny Glover and 11 others have been arrested during a labor union protest at the Maryland headquarters of a food service company. Montgomery County police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says Glover and others stepped past yellow police tape and were asked to step back three times at Sodexo headquarters. When they refused, Starks says officers arrested them. The dozen were issued citations for trespassing and let go. Starks says they face a $1,000 fine or 90 days in jail.

US actor Danny Glover and 11 others were arrested Friday at a protest outside the US headquarters of French company Sodexo, which workers accuse of union-bashing and poor working conditions. Glover was taken away in handcuffs along with the outgoing head of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Andy Stern, former Sodexo canteen cashier Terry Shelley and several others, after crossing a police line outside the US offices of the food services firm. The action brought together hourly-paid workers, students, and even union representatives from Britain and France who sought to show support for US workers like Shelley, who said...

Actor and activist Danny Glover has offered hugs and moral support to Cleveland-area workers at a men's suit plant that faces a shutdown next month with the loss of 375 jobs. Glover later held a news conference and appealed to Germany's Hugo Boss AG to reverse its shutdown decision. Glover led a boycott of Hugo Boss formal wear at the Academy Awards earlier this month. The company says its shutdown decision stands. The company says the union representing workers rejected concessions at the plant, which it says isn't globally competitive.

Be on the look out for any Oscar attendees in Hugo Boss wear. Danny Glover is looking for them. The U.K. Telegragh is reporting Lethal Weapon actor Danny Glover is up to his usual left-wing activism. He is calling on his fellow actors on the red carpet tonight to wear pins on their lapels reading "Keep the Hugo Boss Plant Open.": He and the union sent a letter saying 375 workers would lose their jobs if the factory closed and asked Hollywood to "take a small stand for American workers." Not surprisingly, Mr. Glover found it easy to side with...

Shortly after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, eminent climate expert/activist/actor Danny Glover gave us this intellectual gem. "What happened in Haiti could happen anywhere in the Caribbean because all these island nations are in peril because of global warming," Glover said. "When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I'm sayin'?" I must confess that the logic of Professor Glover's scientific analysis defied my limited ability to comprehend. Last week Mr. Glover took to the airwaves of left wing Pacifica Radio to give us...

So often, evil is simple to identify. You know the historically bad people. But, then again, once in a while Pat Robertson opens his pie hole and reminds us that a different kind of evil sometimes creeps along like that dirty little wolf in minister’s clothing. If you missed it, this “pillar of Christianity” decided that, while the people of Haiti were suffering from a devastating earthquake, many of whom, at that very moment were buried beneath the rubble clinging to life, he should let everyone know that the disaster was actually their fault, no pun intended. The convoluted logic...

Whenever a disaster occurs, there are always people trying to capitalize on it to get rich, famous, or just to attack others for political gain. The earthquake in Haiti is a prime example of this. Pat Robertson came out this past week and claimed that the earthquake and many other troubles throughout their history is a result of their making a pact with the devil in exchange for victory over the French. Thus Pat Robertson said that countless scholars and religious figures over the centuries believe the country is cursed and so he says this is why the earthquake happened....

When "lose lips" do sink ships or in the cases of both Pat Robertson and Danny Glover, create angry reactions. A new reader and listener from the left coast contacted me asking why we had not posted on Pat Robertson’s comments concerning Haiti’s pact with the Devil. Well, I was waiting for the left shoe to drop. Danny Glover took care of that, suggesting non-action at climate summits result in earthquakes.

With thoughtful insight into the devastation that struck Haiti yesterday, Link TV board member Danny Glover spoke with our friends at GRITtv today to discuss steps forward for the Haitian capital. Glover points out that in this great moment of internationalism, the U.S. has the opportunity to rebuild its relationship with Haiti, and he voices a warning that disasters like this will inevitably strike again as climate change continues.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. –The end of the U.S. Open is finally in sight, none too soon for most people, maybe a bit too late for Ricky Barnes. Only a few hours after Barnes became the fourth player in tournament history to reach double-digits under par, he began marching backward. He led by six after nine holes of the third round but only led by one at the end. Then the fourth round began in the late evening, and Barnes drove badly on the first hole and bogeyed. He is tied with Lucas Glover at 7-under-par, but play wasn't suspended until Barnes...

DANNY Glover's movie project with Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez never got off the ground - and it's because of Hollywood's racism, Glover whines. Marxist Chavez was smart enough to offer just half the financing for the film, $18 million. Glover was supposed to get the other $18 million from a distributor, but no one in Hollywood was interested in a preachy film about Haitian independence hero Toussaint L'Ouverture. Glover told a Paris film seminar: "Producers said, It's a nice project, a great project . . . where are the white heroes?'
