  • Have You Noticed? Secret Service is treating Mitt Romney like a President, not just a candidate

Last night I watched Mitt Romney’s speech from Bucks County, Pennsylvania and noticed something I hope you’ve picked up on: his Secret Service detail is treating Mitt Romney like a President…and not just like a candidate. What I mean is that the looks on the agents faces, and the way they aggressively keep turning their heads and watching out for Romney, is the same thing they do for the actual President…but it’s not the same level of intensity these guys provide for a mere candidates for office, former presidents, First Ladies, etc. While the Secret Service always strives to do...

    My own thoughts | 11-05/06-2012 | DoughtyOne
Since 1996, I have been terribly underwhelmed with the Republican nominees for the Presidency of the United States.  I have made no bones about the fact that I haven't voted for the nominee two of the last three general elections.  I took a pass on Bush in 2000, voted for him in 2004, and took a pass on McCain in 2008.  Look at what Bush passed off in 2008.  I voted for that.  Good grief! When I make it known what my vote is going to be, I try to be reasoned about it.  I'm not here to convince...

"Show me a young conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains." - Winston Churchill Tomorrow, Americans will be faced with the most important presidential election in recent history. Building on the words of the great statesman Winston Churchill, we: 1) Can forget that we have brains, believe in youthful wishful thinking, fantasize, and vote for Barack Obama; or, 2) we can remember that we have loving hearts tempered/matured with years of life experiences, recognize the truth that our great nation is being led by...

Down 16% overall, down from 54,340 in 2008 to 45,337 this year-- down 9,007 or 16%. And most of the decline came from Democratic voters. The numbers show a huge increase in GOP voters here: Democrats: 127,741 53.36% or 89% of 2008 Republicans: 47,091 19.67% or 138% of 2008 Other: 64,544 26.96 or 78% of 2008 Total: 239,376 or 84% of 2008 Compare this with the 2008 results: Obama: 458,422 69.05% McCain: 199,880 30.11% Total difference: 258,242 If GOP voting is up 38% in just the early voting and the Republicans are better prepared for election day, they could narrow...
  • Obama vs. Romney election: US Economy, employment, healthcare on the line

Barack Obama, who was influenced by the peace movement of the 1960’s, was the one candidate most unlike President George W. Bush. And so it was that Barack Obama became the 44th president of the United States. After four years of the Obama administration the American economy continues to falter, the world is more dangerous than it was four years ago despite the death of Osama bin Laden, and our national debt is threatening our entire economic existence. Today the federal government spends eleven dollars for every seven dollars it collects. Our national debt has soared past $16 trillion.

2012 will not be a reprise of 2000. Although Barack Obama is building an army / phalanx of lawyers to try and redirect the election to the courts with the hope that the justices will lean against throwing out a sitting president, it won’t happen. 2000 only happened because the election was so close, with a mere half percent difference between the candidates. In 2012 that will not be a problem. Of course that was all about electoral votes, not popular, but the two usually go hand in hand. Michael Barone does a good job of looking at the electoral...

Among the Obama campaign’s many accusations this year, one of the more interesting ones has been the claim that Mitt Romney was an “outsourcer” during his days at Bain Capital. When exploring this claim, we must remember the job of a company like Bain Capital: it’s to create value for the investors by building a successful company. The vast majority of companies that Bain shepherded to success during Romney’s tenure were and are, in fact, major employers, major retail, wholesale, or manufacturing firms that employ thousands and thousands of Americans. The net result of Mitt Romney being involved in the...
  • Immigration touches a nerve for US voters in the Rio Grande Valley

In the Rio Grande Valley, one of the most pressing issues during the US presidential race is what each candidate says about immigration. This resonates in south Texas and especially in Brownsville, where more than 90 per cent of residents are Latino. Barack Obama has tried to garner support amongst Latino voters with a last-ditch effort on immigration policy. Mitt Romney says he wants to see a solution to the immigration issue. He says illegal migrants should self-deport - that their lives will be so hard in the US that they will want to go back to their country of...

Hello Friends, I know many of you are a little anxious regarding the election. Nearly all the media outlets are painting a fatalistic picture about the inevitability of Obama’s re-election. On the face of it, it would seem that the tactic is intended to discourage the anti-Obama faction and to push the many in our society that don’t have a shred of independent thinking in their DNA, to let the crowd prompt their decision. As I see things, the ‘Bandwagon’ syndrome is not going to get it done this time around. Look at the enormous crowds for the Romney rallies...

While Liberals wear the badge of self-righteous compassion on their sleeves, for the world to admire, some of us are looking beyond the hype for an explanation of this Obama philosophy that has trapped us in economic and moral doldrums for the last four years. Obama came to the national stage as a messianic figure; he could fix our problems and bring Americans together. Not even the most deluded Marxists among us are still clinging to that claptrap, but the human animal is resilient and clever, and the Liberal thinkers, as well as the simple minded, are looking desperately for...

Ladies and Gentlemen, D-Day has arrived. The Tea is in the harbor and the time has come to act! In order to prevent those who are vested with authority from becoming oppressors, the people have a right, at such periods and in such manner as they shall establish by their frame of government, to cause their public officers to return to private life, and to fill up vacant places by certain and regular elections. - John Adams Popular elections…frequently repeated, are the only possible method of forming a free constitution, or of preserving the government of laws from the domination...

America, please don't allow the media's obsession with hurricane Sandy to divert you from remembering the past four miserable years under Obama and his team of Marxist clowns! It's time we go back and look at the REALITY of Obama's presidency! Can America afford four more years of these knuckleheads, let alone Obama? It's BAD ENOUGH that America elected a foreigner with a forged birth certificate that took 3 years to present (a deceased baby's birth date and record belonging to Virginia Sunahara of Hawaii), a forged selective service card with a P.O. date stamp that has been proven to...

To my Conservative Friends: Serenity now!!!! I know all of you are nervous.  I know all of you are anxious.  I was that way for all the elections that I have been closely following as an armchair political pundit from the 2000, 2002, 2004 (especially), 2006, 2008 and the mid-terms in 2010. And this 2012 election is, in my view, the most vitally important election in my lifetime.  And yet, I am the most calm and reserved about this election than I have ever been before a big election day. The reason??  As I told my wife yesterday, everything in my...

One of my readers just received her assigned polling place (above) for tomorrow's election: the Noor terror-linked mosque. Read the 35-page memorandum submitted to the Florida court on the mosque's terror links. Would you want to vote there? Would you trust the results coming out of this hotbed of jihadist activity? And why expose the secular populace to dawah and proselytizing? This is madness. Atlas readers are quite familiar with the Noor mosque. This is the terror mosque that spied on and then ratted out Rifqa Bary to her parents, that she had converted out of Islam. They came out...

I don’t want to sound trite… or maybe I do. It didn’t take me very long to realize that my ‘truth detector’ was going off the charts when it came to Barack Hussein Obama, starting as far back as Obama’s speech in front of the DeMarxist convention in 2004, when he was still a state senator in Illinois. He was immediately lauded as the ‘future’ of the Marxists in America. I had him pegged as an empty suit back then. Watching his ‘seamless’ rise to political prominence was suspicious to begin with. The uncontested ‘nature’ of his State Senate and...

He did it again. He went off script. He showed us his heart. On Friday Obama said "Voting's the best revenge." Yahoo, an unofficial arm of the Obama campaign, then had to scramble to try to explain the remark: Chris Moody: MENTOR, Ohio—A campaign aide moved to explain President Barack Obama's comment in which he referred to voting as "the best revenge," saying that Obama was referring in part to a television ad Mitt Romney's campaign released that suggested Chrysler was planning to ship manufacturing jobs out of Ohio to China. Problem is, Obama never mentioned the ad. Aides to...

An anonymous internet Email making the cyber rounds about what is really on Barack Obama’s famous gold ring links back to a WorldNetDaily piece by Jerome R. Corsi, put up on October 10, of this year. Does the Obama ring really say, “There is no god except Allah?” Well, depending on what Middle Eastern scholar you talk to, you get a different answer, and the Corsi story is still standing. “So What,” said an international law professor at the University of Kansas to Blaze reporters when they asked him about his take on the inscription on Obama’s ring. “The president...

The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy continues to inflict damage upon the Northeast, particularly the Tri-State Area. The communities of Breezy Point, and the Rockaways, as well as the coastal communities of the Jersey Shore bore the brunt of Sandy’s wrath-as we’ve detailed throughout this past week. However, the devastation from this natural disaster, including the tragic deaths of nearly two dozen Staten Islanders and destruction of large parts of the barrier islands, has impacted the entire states of New York and New Jersey. Needless to say, our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who suffered, and continue to...
