Furious Britons have expressed their rage and heartbreak at a video of family members being told off for comforting each other at a funeral. A woman at her late husband's service at Crownhill Crematorium in Milton Keynes was scolded after her son, who is reportedly in her support bubble, tried to sit next to her. Currently no more than 30 people are allowed to attend a funeral under coronavirus rules and must be kept two metres apart.

We have 2 dogs. Our oldest, nearly 15 is having more bad days than good. He has been gone in many respects for the past week or so. He will be sorely missed. Our other dog is 7, so we will not be "dogless." I read that it is better to be a week or two early than a day late as far as putting down a pet. I don't know how much suffering he is going thru, but he is just sort of existing now.

Every Life is a Story, Only Known Fully by God – A Meditation on a Moving Video Msgr. Charles Pope • August 28, 2015 • When my father lay dying, I remember that one of the losses I began to grieve was that he was the keeper of so many family stories. He was the one who could look at an old family photograph, identify all the people, and tell you something about each one. As I saw him lying there, no longer able to talk much, I thought of all the memories stored up in his mind, all the...

After last week's "shellacking" courtesy of the GOP, liberals have been moping around Capitol Hill, stunned that their agenda had been thoroughly rejected by the American people. Don't feel bad for these distraught Dems, as this week Democratic staffers are being visited by support professionals. These folks went around to the offices of outgoing Democrats to help their staff members with resume writing, job hunting, and grief counseling. What is infuriating is that these "counselors" are being paid for by the taxpayers. While your friends and family are watching their savings accounts inch towards zero in the Obama economy, the...

First Lady Michelle Obama took a lot of grief for her decision to vacation in Spain last week, a glitzy getaway that prompted one New York Daily News columnist to liken her to Marie Antoinette. But now we're learning more about the trip, which, despite the furor over its alleged excess, seems to have been launched with good intentions. According to the Chicago Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet, the first lady made the trip because she wanted to spend time with her best friend, Chicago physician Anita Blanchard, who lost her father this summer. Blanchard (who is married to President Obama's best...

DALLAS — A 13-year-old hangs himself in a Johnson County, Texas, barn. An 8-year-old jumps out of a two-story school building in Houston. Nine Massachusetts teenagers face jail time after allegedly harassing a girl so mercilessly that she killed herself. These incidents, all of which took place in one week, reframe the age-old phenomenon of the schoolyard bully. Students are turning to suicide, experts say, as an escape from taunts that now continue beyond the school day through cyberspace. Such drastic responses, they say, reveal how an action once considered a rite of passage has turned into a public health...

Three of the nine teenagers accused of driving 15-year-old Irish immigrant Phoebe Prince to commit suicide have been ordered to stay away from her family. Sean Mulveyhill, 17, Austin Renaud, 18, and Kayla Narey, 17, were all freed today on personal recognizances as long as they left Phoebe's heartborken family alone. Judge Judd Carheart made the ruling in a brief arraignment which the three teenagers did not attend.

In the normal person, the emotional life always blends with the intellectual life so as not to disrupt rational modus operandi. a. The emotions were designed to respond to what is in the right lobe: the frame of reference, memory center, vocabulary and categorical storage. b. C. Gate #3: Self-Righteousness Arrogance. 1. Introduction. a. Self-righteousness means to be righteous in one's own esteem; in fact, to be Pharisaical. Our Lord condemned self-righteousness in His great dissertation of Matt 23, which begins: "Woe unto you, scribes, Pharisees, hypocrites." b. Self-righteousness is generally associated with arrogance. It is the arrogant reliance on one's own assumed, inconsistent, and hypocritical righteousness. c. Self-righteousness is the arrogant conviction that one's own righteousness is superior to that of all others. It is the conclusion that one's own righteousness is so great that intolerance of all others becomes the modus operandi of blind...

    A. Gate #1: Motivational Arrogance. 1. Definition and Description. a. All arrogance starts with thinking, moves into motivation, and from there moves into decisions and actions. b. By definition, motivational arrogance is a complex of mental attitude sins, all of which are related to arrogance or have their foundation in the basic concept of the sin of pride. c. Pride is defined as inordinate self-esteem, unreasonable conceit, preoccupation with self, insolence, rejection of authority, vanity, self-justification, an inflated concept of self, and the exaggeration of one's own self-importance. d. The king was shaken, and went up to the room over the city gate to weep. He said as he wept, "My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you, Absalom, my son, my son!" 2 Samuel 19,1 Dear Lord, remind us how you grieve when each falls, turning away from you finally, and chosing to rebel, enters into that darkness from which there is no return. Like David weeping for the son who caused him such grief, so you grieve for each of us who dies that final death, for that rebellious...

THE GRIEVING MOTHER CAMPED IN CRAWFORD IS CLUELESS The grieving mother camped on the road outside Bush's home in Texas has company in her grief. Somewhere in Baghdad or Pakistan, maybe at this moment, a mother swathed in black robes squats on the floor of a hut, watching the elders of her tribe strap a bomb to her handsome teenaged son. They cinch up the belts and murmur to him of the car he will get to drive at high speed, his future as a hero of Islam, and, of course, the seventeen virgins who await him in "heaven." She...

Escaping uncertainty, fear, loneliness, bitterness, emptiness, anger or hate.Grief, and how to cope, is far too difficult a topic to stumble upon with simple words. Dealing with the loss after all, is a vital first step on the long journey to healing. Each of us must confront this necessary...
