Obama, King of Fools

It is a defining indicator that the embarrassing, self inflicted dumbing down of America is all but complete when people vote against their own self-interest. I'll say it: it is obvious that many Americans are not very smart. Quite dumb, actually. To listen to the Sirius radio interview with Obama voters from Harlem mindlessly cheering on Obama as the interviewer attributes McCain's policies to the Democrats is pathetic and an inescapable indicator of the blind leading the blind. Not Godbless or goddam America! God help America. Trying to explain how our economy works and why lowering taxes is always better...

Teens protest Chicago PD getting rifles

CHICAGO — Nearly 100 teens marched outside Chicago police headquarters Thursday night to protest the department''s plans to equip officers with semi-automatic rifles, saying the weapons could make the streets more dangerous. Carrying signs like "Stop the War on Youth," teens said they didn''t trust police with the high-powered weapons and worried gangs would be encouraged to bolster their own arsenals. "The only people who need these guns are in Iraq," said Arthur McGraw, 19, an organizer with the nonprofit Southwest Youth Collaborative, which organized the rally. "It''ll shoot through brick, car doors. Say your family is in the house...

Bought a Colt AR-15 CAR-A3, HBAR Elite and need some help! (Vanity)

Bought this gun today and am asking the experts what over the counter ammo feeds through this weapon? As stated, the gun is a flat-top with a Simmons scope along with a bi-pod as the only add-on's. The serial number is BK010XXX and I believe this a post-ban weapon, correct? I have shot competively in the past with .45 auto's and this is my first semi-auto rifle. I believe this dude will drive tack's as I have read. I just would like some overall advise.

Would-be appointees quizzed on guns

President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team is asking potential appointees detailed questions about gun ownership, and firearms advocates aren’t happy about it. [*snip*] Tucked in at the end of the questionnaire and listed under “Miscellaneous,” it reads: “Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage.”

Just When Was That Revolver Manufactured

U.S. attorneys had a conundrum on their hands -- they had the evidence to prove a convicted felon was in possession of a gun, but they couldn’t prove the gun was a gun. What [they] had on their hands was an American double-action revolver that was manufactured between 1880 and 1941. The problem is that federal code states that the weapon is not a firearm unless it was manufactured after 1896....

National Ammo Day - November 19th

November 19 is National Ammo Day. It is a nationwide BUYcott of ammunition. You buy ammunition. 100 Rounds a person. The goals of Ammo Day: The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Make your support of the Second Amendment known--by voting with your dollars! There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America. If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that’s 7.5...

Antill, 23, has purchased two guns within the past few weeks. He anticipates buying more. "I hadn't planned on spending that kind of money, but I'm concerned I may not be able to buy what I want down the road," Antill said. "I think they're really going to crack down on guns...

40 Reasons for Gun Control (Snarky!)

40 Reasons for Gun Control 1. Banning guns works, which is why New York, DC, & Chicago cops need guns. 2. Washington DC's low murder rate of 69 per 100,000 is due to strict gun control, and Indianapolis' high murder rate of 9 per 100,000 is due to the lack of gun control. 3. Statistics showing high murder rates justify gun control but statistics showing increasing murder rates after gun control are "just statistics." 4. The Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, both of which went into effect in 1994 are responsible for the decrease in violent crime rates,...

The D.C. Power Grab That Really Matters

No one outside of Washington Beltway types seems to be paying attention to a fight in a small corner of Congress. That's unfortunate, because whoever wins will set the tone not only of the 111th Congress but will determine in large part how the Obama administration will fare in its critical first two years. The clash is for boss of one of the most powerful positions in the new Congress, the chairmanship of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The challenger is Rep.
Firearm sales shoot up as gun owners worry about Barack Obama administration (Poll to FReep also)

From sea to shining sea, the election of Barack Obama has sparked a run on guns by firearm fans who fear stiffer rules are on the way. During election week, the FBI did 374,510 background checks on prospective gun owners, compared with 251,804 in the same week last year. Last month, the G-men did checks on 285,894 people buying handguns, compared with 223,141 in Oct. 2007. "It is a significant jump," Special Agent Jason Pack said.
