JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WSVN) — Police say a man who tried to carjack two people was thwarted after the victims both pulled out guns to protect themselves. According to Fox 30, Jacksonville police officers arrested 36-year-old Christopher Raymond Hill, charging him with strong-arm robbery, carjacking with firearm or deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and trespassing. The Village of Deerfield, Illinois’ “assault weapons” ban that would have required residents to turn in or remove their scary black rifles from the town was set to take effect tomorrow. But John Boch reports that after hearing arguments in a suit brought by Guns Save Life and the NRA today, a Lake County circuit court judge has issued a temporary restraining order blocking enforcement of the law until the suit can be decided. A local pastor pulled a gun on a man authorities say was trying to rob a clerk at an east side Dollar General Store. He was able to hold that man until authorities arrived. Pastor Carl Sanders and he simply says he was in the right place at the right time, just doing God's will. Pastor Sanders tells 14News that he went to the Dollar General Store on Lincoln Avenue for a Gatorade, but people are now calling him a hero.
