Hallmark, the Kansas City greeting card company, edited the lyrics of "Deck the Halls" on one of its 2013 ornaments to omit the word 'gay' and has received criticism on its Facebook page that puts the company in an unfamiliar position of defending a product. The original carol verse goes: "Don we now our gay apparel." But Hallmark's version, which appears on a Christmas ornament designed as an ugly Christmas sweater goes: "Don we now our FUN apparel."

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, July 18, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Target is now selling greeting cards for gay ‘marriages,’ as of the middle of June, adding to their previous support for the homosexual agenda. The cards, produced by Carlton Cards, include phrases like “Mr. & Mr.” and “Two very special women, one very special love.” “Target is focused on diversity and inclusivity,” spokesperson for Target Molly Snyder said, adding that they offer “wedding cards relevant for everyone,” including lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender couples. Target faced some backlash from homosexual political groups in 2010 after they gave $150,000 to MN Forward, a political...

"They sent us letters. They phoned it in. They asked their retailers, you know, in their neighborhood, where do I find a card that says this?” Hallmark Creative Director Derek McCracken told NPR. “And again, loss of job, like any loss, is a grieving process. And so we have to acknowledge as soon as possible what had happened and then try to support them. So that's where we kind of offer more cards on the, you'll get through this, versus dwelling on the loss of the job itself.”

The NAACP, void of any attention since the rest of the country is focused on our oil spill, our failing economy, and our worthless President, has decided that it must make up something to get attention. So, it sent its members on a nationwide hunt for the Don Imus-like comment to raise a stink about. What did they find? Well, nothing really. However, they have succeeded in making something up. Hoops and YoYo, a popular cartoon, can be found in many places, usually saying some strange things. One incarnation of this duo is the greeting card series that are sold...

CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- A graduation card sold at local stores has been pulled from shelves after a civil rights group raised concerns about the content. The group claims the card's micro-speaker plays a greeting that's racist. It is a graduation greeting from Hallmark that says, "Hey world, we are officially putting you on notice." Members of the Los Angeles NAACP did take notice. As characters known as "Hoops" and "Yoyo" banter on, African American leaders hear offensive language. "And you black holes, you are so ominous. Watch your back," the card vocalizes. "That was very demeaning to African...

Would love to know what everyone thinks about this. Please leave a comment. Is it cool? Is it too technological? Do you even own a webcam? I’m not sure what to think but I at least admire for Hallmark for trying to make their next 100 years successful. But as a writer of greeting card verses, I just like a very simple paper greeting.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Buying a greeting card for someone’s birthday, anniversary or if the recipient is feeling under the weather is pretty straightforward. But what if the person is undergoing chemotherapy or struggling with depression? “Get Well Soon” probably won’t cut it. Likewise, most cards lining the store shelves don’t work on occasions as someone leaving an abusive spouse, undergoing drug rehab or declaring their sexual orientation. Hallmark Cards Inc., which has built its $4.2 billion empire on sentiments for life’s happier times, is releasing a new line of cards that will speak to those and other situations that...
